All of a sudden everyone froze. Those asleep woke up, those working stopped, those speaking turned quiet and the drunk sobered up.

The first January 2023 was indeed a cornerstone but not one humanity expected.

In all corners od the workd, when people looked up they all saw the same thing, a being made of a cluster of light. Neither feminine nor masculine, radiating a form of otherworldly presence, it it spoke with an ethereal voice.

Dear humanity, it pains me to say that you went through the wrong path, times and times again. It is not wars, the economy, the gendered society, overusing resources and depleting the Earth specifically that caused your downfall. All of these issues, all of the bad blood that yiu have against each others, all the selfishness and dedication to destroy Earth caused us to intervene. If things continue this way, in only 10 years, your planet will cease to exist and the human race would go extinct. No efforts of space travels and colonization can offset this effect, no green policy or freeze on trade can do it either. We, the association of celestial being, however decided to grant you one ultimate chance at redemption.

I am called the administrator and act on their behalf. I now present you the rules of the near future. A selected few will have for mission to establish a stronghold in a far away land, a new planet called Astros. They will have the opportunity to create and develop their own forces under the guidance of the system. You can all think hard about system.

When people thought of the keyword 'system', a game like screen popped in front of their eyes, displaying:

Everyone turned serious at the sudden display.

Now that I am sure all of you can confirm your status, you must be more receptive to my words. As I said, your world is doomed by your own fault and a select few are now tasked to redeem your collective failure and grant humanity a chance in Astros. As we are fair being, the competition will be fierce. These selected few will have to do what they can to establish a territory for humanity, however we don't think that you would have learnt your lesson if it was as simple as this. In Astros, all your wildest fantasies can become true, magic can be used, martial arts can make yourself destroy boulders and mountains, monsters such as dragons and unicorns are rampant. Moreover, other inhabitants of failed worlds such as yourself will have to compete for a share of Astros. It will not be easy, blood and tears will be spilled but if you are valiant enough, you might fight your way through hardships, overcome your situations and allow for your civilization to prosper.

People started breaking down, unable to realize this new reality crashing down. Some even took their lives, others just stared emptily in front of them.

The administrator clicked its fingers.

Now that a select few have been transported to the new world, let me give you a breakdown of the future. You have a year off. During this time, you may do however you please. Once this time is over, some of you will be transported to towers, where you will have to battle, clear floors and return to Earth to protect the rest of humanity. Once the first batch of climbers - those who cleared the tower - come back here, dubgdons and monster will start appearing and threaten to destroy humanity. Others will then be sent to the tower, and when all humanity are awakened, or successful climbers, you will be sent to Astros. I wish you all the best of luck in the future.
