Chapter 11: Engaged Lovers
I was getting hot and nervous. I brought my napkin to my forehead and dabbed up some sweat.
“With all due respect,” I told Jasper, “you don’t even know me. There’s no way you could know I’m your mate.”
Jasper crooked his head and laughed, “Like I said, I’ve got a friend who told me everything about you! I bet if you thought hard enough about who it might be, you’d know in a second.”
Again, Jasper was teasing me.
I tried to think of who he might be mentioning. Could he mean Damien? Had the two developed a friendship after they met outside of the alley where I was being robbed?
As if on cue, I got a text from Damien. Jasper was busy cutting into his slice of pig, so I quickly glanced at my phone.
It was another shirtless pic from Damien, this one even more revealing than the last. He was lying on his bed, and if I opened the whole pic, right below his abs, I thought I might see him...
