Rescue 2

A stare off happened between the huge lizard and Haider as none of them wanted to take a start .

Haider took out his walkie talkie,

*Sargent ,I'll need the fish net *

The Sargent looked at Bella as asking for what Haider demanded.

" Oh! He just want to capture that creature "

Bella replied to his gaze and went inside the

car and dragged a heavy bag out and gave it to the Sargent . The Sargent ordered one of his men to deliver it to Haider .

Inside the mall:

Haider looked at Flame who was sitting on the lightbulb hanging from the roof .

' Looks like he's just gonna watch '

Haider thought as he saw the bird resting like a sag .

Then after running out of patience the lizard crawled forward slowly towards Haider ,it didn't took his opponent lightly as he saw Haider cut the mutated ones easily .

' This is gonna be a tough one '

Haider mumered ,

The lizard swept its tail like a whip at Haider .

He moved sideways and dogged the attack .

* Bum*

A huge crater was formed on the ground where the lizard attacked.Haider looked at it and formed a mental note to not get hit by that huge tail .

Then Haider pounced forward with his swords at his front . The lizard crawled a little back to be prepared for the incoming attack and swept its tail once again in a horizontal arc. Haider jumped and dogged it and with a light jump, again he was on top of the lizard's head.Haider knew that the lizard has enormous defence so he placed all his strength in his heavy swords and with a vertical strike .

Haider's swords broke as they came in contact with the lizard's tough skin.The lizard moved it's tail once again and attacked him. Haider was thrown several meters to the side of the lizard with the strike .

' Yeah there goes some ribs '

" You need help ?" Monica asked as she just arrived and saw Haider laying on the floor injured .

" Yeah just take the soldiers and conceal his tail ,Bella will be arriving to catch it with the net " Haider said as he stood up with blood at the corner of his lips ,he was grabbing his ribs .

' That's one hell of a tail ' The soldier thought as he looked at the injuries Haider had after being struck by the lizard .

* You got the order?catch that beasts tail you Barbie girls no more play time * Monica shouted ,

' You better be alright ' she thought .

After a while two soldiers finally got a hold of the lizards tail and Bella threw the steel net on the lizard then the backup came and they barely contained the beast by sealing it's jaw with a huge chain and locking it's tail with the chain.

* Huff Huff *

" You alright ? " The Sargent asked Haider as he saw him in a bad shape being treated by Bella and Monica ,

" Yeah sure go inside and see if they are alive and scavenge the area where the beast was dwelling " Haider said as he breathed heavily .

" Your not gonna go on missions " Bella said in a furious tone ,

Haider nodded at her like she was joking ,

*Owww Whats that for ?*

Haider screamed as Bella pressed against his cracked ribs that were bandaged and smiled .

Monica laughed at her and then went on with the sargent to scout with the soldiers .

Haider and Bella along with Sargent went outside to oversee the mission .

After half and hour the soldiers came back with dejected face and gave report about their findings. The whole squad was dead except for one person who was laying unconscious under all the corps of the dead .

Haider's expression saddened and he gave orders to take the dead bodies back with them

and gave them a proper funeral. The Sargent didn't question him as she knew the importance of those men for the whole base.

"It's okay don't worry"

Bella said ,

" Sure "

Haider replied

Then the captured lizard was transferred to the military vehicleThey were about to leave when ,

* KAAWWWWW *

Flame appeared with a crystal in his talons.

" Oh you arrived " Haider said ,

Flame gave the crystal to Haider and then sticked his chest out with pride ,

" Yeah and you didn't help me take out that beast " Haider said , Flame just ignored him and enjoyed being praised by Monica .

Haider looked at the crystal and was confused to find that the crystal was shaped hexagonal and had rainbow like glow unlike the ordinary white crystal which the mutated had dropped .

' So the lizard was protecting this '

Haider thought and placed it inside a packet in his pocket .

They left and after a smooth journey arrived at the base. The Captain welcomed them and was given the news of his men being slaughtered by the beast that Haider brought .

A short ceremony was arranged and the bodies of the dead were burried at the empty plot at the side of the base ,

Jessica cried alot with Wolfie sitting alongside her to comfort her , Pearl and all the

birds attended the funeral for some reason . The new born baby was also present and curiously looked at all the people who had sad faces . As Jade was crying along with some other soldiers who had their brothers lost today, Pearl went towards Jessica, she grabbed the newborn with her mouth and placed it on the grave of Mark . Everyone was shocked and saddened by her behaviour .

Haider went towards Mark's grave where the newborn was playing and sat down beside Jessica ,

" From now on it's name is Mark , The name of a person who didn't let go of hope even at the doors of death " Haider said ,

He then went up to give a speech as the base leader , it was suggested by the Captain and the Sargent .

He stood infront of everyone and lowered his head for a moment towards the graves to pay his respect to the dead .

" People of this base ,Everyone ! , "

Haider started , everyone looked at him .

" We are not anywhere near safety as you can see the strongest of the base were killed in a regular mission to bring food to their homes , " He stopped and everyone felt more sad .

" But don not forget who we are, where we came from and why are we here , They were soldiers of heaven who fought till their last breaths , they had hearts of hell as they didn't let of the brothers that fought with them and we are just normal people in front of these warriors , but don't be saddened, these people have saved lives, these people had contributed towards your survival ." Haider stopped to make them a pay more attention towards him ,

" We are here to give respect to the warriors who fought for us in this unforgiving war not to feel saddened for their deaths , So people of this base! For them We will work , We will survive and we will create a world that they had sacrificed their lives for ." Everyone became full of energy and all the birds started to make the atmosphere more intense by screaming .

Everyone's heart felt lighter and they had now more respect towards their leader and were more fired up than ever .

The ceremony ended and everyone got back to their duties ,

The Sargent still looked at Jessica who was blankly staring at Mark's grave .

" She's just upset try to comfort her if you want her " Monica said ,

The Sargent nodded ,he didn't tried to hide his feelings for the young woman and went towards Jessica's side to comfort her .

While at the temporary clinic at the west of the base , the unconscious soldier was awake and saw two men along with a bird staring at him .
