Apocalypse: My Domain System

Kiyo, a seemingly average man, finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world where he is betrayed and left for dead by three associates. After being killed by beasts, he wakes up in his bed covered in cold sweat, confused and angry. He realizes that he has somehow regressed back in time to before the apocalypse. He breaks up with his girlfriend Yumi, who was among the three who betrayed him, and begins preparations for the impending apocalypse. He withdraws all his savings and his late father's inheritance, amounting to $2,000,000. Suddenly, a mechanical screen appears in front of him and an Onyx black ring he had obtained five years prior loses its shine. The screen, part of the Apocalyptic Domain System, was created by a progenitor to guide and empower Kiyo to create a paradise and save as many humans as possible from the impending apocalypse.

Chapter 4: Mysterious Guest 1/2

The thought that he and his cousin may be among the strongest right now, if not the strongest, thrilled Kiyo.

"System, could you elaborate on the operation of your notion of power ranking?" He queried the system in silence, thinking to himself.

[ Ding! Answering the Host's queries….

The Primordial Universe Power System is the power ranking used throughout the whole universe. Be it, Gods, Demons, Immortals, or Space Creatures, all powerful beings use this power system. Currently, the Host has the weakest strength out of all the Amari ranked beings. Only because there is no other rank below it.

The power ranking system that Planet #022723 known as Earth uses is limited to being the weakest amongst the rank of Warrior. In short, a stage X awakener or tier 10 beast couldn't even touch the threshold if compared to Amari.

System Note: Amari is the rank for newborn beings while most full-fledged beings average in between the Hunter and Saint rank. ]

Kiyo felt like his heart had been stabbed with a knife, the system revealed the strongest in his planet, the same rank as the being that killed him couldn't even reach the rank of a Warrior. He felt fear for the unknown powers that roam the universe, whilst feeling miserable as the beings that he fought so hard, even sacrificing his life doesn't even qualify to be average in the Universal Power System.

[ Ding! Detecting the Host's worries…..

Need not worry, fear not the 'strong' the system is created to guide the Host in reaching the peak, the power not acquired by any for three Primordial eras.]

Author notes: One primordial era lasts around 100,000 years.

Kiyo let out a sigh of relief, as if he was confident that the system could help him achieve such power to govern over all beings.

Yuno, meanwhile, finished celebrating his newfound strength and finally calmed down. He approached Kiyo before thanking him for granting him this strength.

In return, Kiyo just smiled at him before reaching out to hand one of his blade to Yuno.

"Let's clear up the area around our territory first." As he approached the imposing iron gate and extended his hand to pull on its handles, he spoke these words.

Yuno quickly followed as he swung his blade around, getting used to the feeling of wielding it.

Soon, the two open the iron door and let some of the zombies outside to flow in, swiftly chopping down and stabbing each of them in the head.

Yuno surprisingly already knew the weakness of these monsters. Phew.. Fortunately he used to be a Zombie film enthusiast before all this chaos appeared.

After eliminating every zombie within the iron door's perimeter, Kiyo cracked open his head and removed a dark green diamond. He gestured for Yuno to follow suit.

Yuno, having unconditional trust towards his cousin, obediently followed suit without asking any question nor did he show any reluctance.

The two ventured around the iron walls, eliminating all threats they could find, they gathered around 27 of those blackish green gems, which Kiyo referred to as Z-crystals.

Yuno was a little disappointed since he couldn't see any signs of living humans; all they could see were zombies and devastation. Conversely, Kiyo remained composed, as though he was accustomed to this.

Once Kiyo was certain that every zombie outside his little stronghold had been wiped out, he motioned for Yuno to come with him and secure the iron door.

Kiyo smiled after receiving a notice from the blue mechanical screen in front of him, he successfully gained 27 Vilume and an Amari-tiered Lucky Spin. it was given to him by the system after he successfully completed a hidden quest, that is to eliminate all zombies in the surroundings of the domain.

The two took a seat on the bench in the front yard of their little fortress. He opened the system window to see the Lucky Spin he had just won while giving Yuno instructions on how to absorb the Z-crystals.

[ Ding! Lucky Spin detected.

Would you like to use it now?

Yes / No ]

He immediately picked Yes and a mechanical wheel appeared to be spinning in front of him. He glanced at Yuno and confirmed that only he could see everything related to the system windows.

Kiyo closed his eyes and prayed that he would gain something useful from the wheel.

[Ding! Congratulations….

The host has obtained a Vial of Immunity 5x]

He was undoubtedly delighted as something like immunity to the virus could only be obtained after reaching Stage 6 awakening.

He kept 2 vials of the Immunity potion before keeping the other 3 in the pocket of his black leather jacket that seemed to be reinforced with something.

After waiting for Yuno to finish absorbing all the crystals.

Yuno was now feeling the changes in his power, a slight increase is still an improvement after all. Absorbing some non-mutated zombie crystals won't make any instantaneous changes.

Kiyo patted his cousin's shoulder as he was feeling the improvements in his body. A gush of unknown energy rushed out of his body as he punched the tree beside them.

The hole made by the damage of his fist has increased by at least 20%. Kiyo just smiled at him as if he was a parent proud of his child for accomplishing something. He was even a bit teary eyed.

But by the time they'd used up every Z-crystal in their possession, nightfall had arrived—the dead of darkness in the post-apocalyptic world. As Kiyo went inside the home to rest and prepare for tomorrow, he sought him to follow.

Each of them had a modest meal of instant noodles and tuna in a can. After defeating so many zombies, the two were too worn out from fighting, so the scent of these apparently unremarkable and even plain foods—which they often detested in the good old days—became comparably delicious like the dishes of the royals.

Finally, the two were able to get some rest. Lying on a cozy mattress felt really good for their bodies; it was if the materials were massaging their aches.

The two were startled awake by a loud metal clanging as the sun began to rise. It appears that the gate is the source of the sound. Yuno trailed behind Kiyo as the first to go. The two assumed a fighting posture as they carefully opened the iron door.

End of Chapter 4.
