Inevitable Clash!

Meanwhile, just about two streets away from them, another group was scouring the area for supplies. Leading this group was a bald man with a terrifying scar that stretched from his left eye down to his chin. He stood at more than 210 centimeters tall and he had a muscular body that resembled a world-famous bodybuilder.

"Cain, why don't we rest for a bit? I can't wait to have a taste of that policewoman." Chuckled a tattooed man who sported slicked-back hair.

The other men laughed raucously at his words.

The leader of the group, Cain, stopped in his tracks and turned his gaze at the man with slicked-back hair. His terrifying gaze scared everyone in the group. The only exception was the man with slicked-back hair. He just shrugged his shoulders and chuckled with an amused smile.

"We didn't come here to fool around with women, Alaric. You can have her all you want once we return to the base." Cain's deep voice echoed through their ears.

Alaric's eyes lit up. "You can't go back on your words!" He laughed while licking his lips before he turned his gaze to a woman who was wearing a dirty police uniform.

The woman stared back at him fearlessly. 'This sick bast*rd! I want to kill him!' Hershey felt humiliated. She tried to break free from her restraints, but a man kicked her and sent her falling into the ground.

Her unyielding gaze made Alaric excited. He couldn't wait to conquer her and turn her into one of his playthings! "Hey! Don't use too much force! I don't want her face to be disfigured!" He shouted.

Hershey glared at the man who kicked him, but she only received a mocking glance.

She wanted to yell at him, but the cloth in her mouth muffled her screams.

Seeing this, the man chuckled and lifted the chain around her neck. "Once Alaric is done with you, the boys will take turns playing with your body! Hahaha!" He whispered in a lascivious voice.

Hershey felt a chill in her heart when she heard this.

"Boys, I see something!" Someone suddenly shouted.

Everyone turned their head to him, wondering what he had seen.

This man was the scout of the group. His Gift gives him the ability to see the thermal signatures of any object.

"What did you see?" Cain stared at him with a stern gaze.

The man didn't dare waste any second and responded. "There's a group of humans two streets away from us!"

Alaric looked over at them curiously, while the rest of the men revealed knowing smiles.

Meanwhile, Cain furrowed his eyebrows upon hearing this. "How many people are in their group?" He asked.

"Not many." The man shook his head. "They only have thirteen people in their group. Based on their heat signatures, I believe there are two children among them."

Cain nodded at his words. "Boys, it looks like we have our prey now!" He grinned with a ferocious smile.

The men in the group laughed wickedly as they grabbed their weapons.

"Guys, I think they noticed us!" Aurora shouted with a tense voice.

"Huh? How is that possible?" Phillip exclaimed in surprise.

The rest of the group frowned nervously.

Meanwhile, Kent narrowed his eyes. "It seems like there is someone in their group with a Gift similar to Aurora's Mystic Eyes." He muttered.

"What should we do?" Celine asked while staring at him.

Kent pushed up his glasses. "If there's someone like that in their group, that means we can no longer ambush them."

Hearing that, everyone's expression fell. Their confidence was solely because they had Kent's strategy. Now that it had fallen through, they felt horrified.

"How about we escape?" James suggested with a hesitant voice. The other group had the advantage in numbers. They also have more higher-level combatants than their group.

Everyone turned their gazes to Rendell. As the strongest and most reliable person in the group, the final decision rested in his hands, but before he could even say something, Aurora suddenly shouted. "Guys! They are coming toward us!"

Rendell furrowed his eyebrows. "Grab your weapons!" He yelled urgently. There was no time to hesitate. Whether they die here or not will be determined by the outcome of the battle!

"If you want to survive, you must become stronger!" Rendell shouted as he walked to the front. He unsheathed his sword and stared ahead with a calm gaze.

Looking at his fearless back, the group regained their confidence. This man was their source of strength. As long as he stands, their group will never be defeated. That was the belief that had been engraved in their minds after seeing his overwhelming power.

Kent let out a relieved smile. He was glad that Rendell was now part of their group.

Without looking back, Rendell shouted. "James, Marie, Lina, prepare yourselves! Once you see the enemies, attack them with all that you have!"

These three were capable of firing long-range attacks. James had already proven how effective his firepower was, but the other two still had little experience in combat. During the three-day training, Marie and Lina managed to increase their familiarity with their Gifts. They could now use their Gifts offensively, but they still haven't tried it to live targets. This was the perfect chance to see the results of their training.

James nodded with a serious look, while Lina and Marie nervously acknowledged his words.

"Relax. You guys can do it!" Celine said to encourage them and uplift their confidence.

Ralph also sent his wife an encouraging look.

"They are almost here!" Aurora suddenly shouted.

Everyone tensed up, especially Lina and Marie. They looked ahead while preparing to launch their attacks.

Soon, they finally heard the wild laughter and ferocious battle cries of the opposing group.

James immediately summoned three fireballs at once. With his current level, controlling more flames has become easier. He could even control a much stronger flame if he wanted to.

Meanwhile, Marie silently summoned blades of blue grass in the distance. Although her ability didn't have much killing potential, she had the strongest crowd control ability in the group. Even Ericka's enhanced bandages couldn't compare to her blue grass!

On the other hand, Lina conjured three sharp ice spikes above her head. During their training, she showed the most remarkable learning speed. She could now control the temperature of her water and turn it into ice!
