ANGELS AMONG US: BOUND BY FATE

Chapter 1

It's been a full year since Oliver Williams was brought to this horrible new world, Atleast that was Oliver's point of view and it's the way he looked at this world due to the horrible things that had happened since he was sent to this new fantasy world.

Oliver had decided to take the path of a hunter and had registered as a hunter. it's been a full year since Oliver was an F rank hunter ,in most cases hunters train and develop their skills into a certain level and raising their ranks but it was a different case for Oliver as he was an F rank for a whole straight year he was made fun of among other hunters for being weak.

As a lowly f rank hunter, he was forced to do the most dangerous and poorly paid jobs, leaving him with barely enough money to survive, jobs such as patrolling remote areas, and even disposing monster remainings after a rough battle between monsters and hunters.

Speaking about the issue of low income levels the situation had forced Oliver to rent a place in the stables,it was not a pleasant place to rent as the place was often dark, cramped and smelly the place was away from the streets and marketplaces so it took hours for Oliver to walk from the stables to the hunter's association edifice for quests ,his clothes were in tattered and worn, his stomach often empty and he was plagued by nightmares of the horrors he had faced in his duties.

(At the Stable yard)

The hunter, Oliver, slowly rose to his feet, the cold stone floor beneath him a constant reminder of his humble living conditions. His eyes were heavy with exhaustion, the dark circles beneath them a testament to the restless sleep he'd had. As he gathered his belongings, his body trembled with fatigue, but his resolve remained strong. With his equipment in hand, he began the long trek to the hunter's association edifice, the tall spires of the building rising above the city skyline. The morning sun cast a pale light over the cobbled streets, and Oliver's footsteps echoed through the quiet city

"I wonder what Kevin and the others are doing and I wonder how is mom doing it's been a whole year since I've been in this crazy world" Oliver thought to himself.

As the hunter made his way through the narrow streets of the city, his thoughts turned to his mother. He wondered how she was faring, if she had enough food to eat, if she was safe and warm. His own needs felt trivial in comparison, He kept his gaze fixed on the cobblestones beneath his feet, his footsteps heavy with weariness. The streets were empty, the only sounds the distant sounds of city life. He felt a deep sense of loneliness and isolation, despite being surrounded by the bustling metropolis.

By thinking about "Kevin and the others" he had thought about his former teammates who he had worked with in his past life they were a group of archivist studying about history.

"I won't stop trying to find ways on returning to my own world but in order for that to happen I need to raise my rank I might get clues in the future "he further thought to himself as he continued walking , he was getting closer and closer to his destination.

The hunter's association building was a massive edifice, its towering walls rising high above the surrounding streets. The large hall was filled with hunters milling about, haggling and arguing over various matters As Oliver entered, the murmurs of the other hunters quieted, and all eyes turned to him. The gazes of the other hunters were full of disdain, their voices dripping with scorn. They whispered and jeered among themselves,

"That's the F rank hunter Oliver"

"I heard he has been an F rank for the whole year"

"Will he ever give up,he will certainly get killed by monsters and Chaoses soon"

"The world's weakest hunter"

"I heard he can't even use Atado"

"What a disgrace"

They whispered to each other speaking about hunter oliver but Oliver's expression remained calm, his eyes focused and determined. He had faced worse than their petty insults, and he would not be deterred from his mission. He walked past them with purpose, his eyes fixed ahead and with a zero smile on his face heading towards the direction of the quest board.

As Oliver's eyes scanned the quest board, searching for the perfect opportunity to prove himself, a man approached him, a broad smile on his face.

"Greetings, young hunter," he said, his eyes twinkling with mirth.

"Don't mind those louts, they're just jealous of your potential. You don't need to prove yourself to them, you have to prove yourself to yourself."he added

Oliver didn't answer back as he looked at him with a facial expression of realization

"Oh, where are my manners,my name is Sol..."

As he stood before him, he spoke with a genuine warmth in his voice.

"It's nice to meet you," he said, Sol's corners of his mouth upturned in a wide smile. His eyes remained closed, as if to savor the moment, letting his words hang in the air for a moment before he opened them again. He stood there, waiting for his response, his smile still bright and welcoming.

"My name is Oliver, it's a pleasure to meet you as well, Sir Sol" said Oliver as he slightly bowed his head though showing no sign of smile

The man named Sol didn't seem to be put off by the lack of a smile on Oliver's face.

"The pleasure is all mine, Oliver," he replied, a note of understanding in his voice. He understood that Oliver may not be able to express his gratitude in the usual way, and so he respected his gestures in return. "And don't worry about the formality, I'm no sir, just Sol will do just fine." He spoke in a gentle tone, his eyes warm and kind.

The man gestured to a notice on the board, a request for help from a village beset by mysterious attacks with the letter D by the upper left corner.

Sol held out the quest paper, which read "Bounty: a group of kobold monsters making havoc in the village . Last seen at the Sunvale village" .

Oliver looked at the paper, studying it carefully. He then looked up at Sol, his eyes thoughtful. "I'm honored that you would ask me to join you," he said, his voice low and sincere. "Though I must ask, why me?" he added, curiosity tingeing his words.

"Ah, glad you asked," Sol replied with a knowing smile.

"I've been to this village before, and I know the people there well. They trust me, and they know that I wouldn't partner with just anyone. You seem like a good and trustworthy man, Oliver, and I think you would be a valuable addition to our squad. Besides, I have a feeling you are more capable than you let on." He spoke with a confidence that bordered on faith, as if he were certain that Oliver would be a valuable ally.

Since Oliver was regarded weak among the hunters he felt a small faith and let out a little bit of smile it was a bit hard to notice, "I won't disappoint you" Oliver replied.

Sol opened his eyes widely seeing Oliver leaving a faint smile "What!? so you can smile after all , even though you let out a faint smile but still" As he laughed and wraps his hand around Oliver's should like a friend "come on the rest of the team is waiting outside" they started to walk out of the hunters association edifice as they saw their other team holding horses preparing to go.

As the two men made their way out of the building, they were met by the rest of the team. There were five others, each one a seasoned and skilled adventurer and hunter.

"Ah, there you are," one of them said, a woman with a bow slung over her shoulder.

"I was starting to wonder if you had gotten lost," she added with a teasing smile. Oliver gave a small nod.

"I'm glad to be here," he said, his voice quiet but sincere. With that, the group mounted their horses and began their journey to the village.

The woman's steady hand guided the horse as it trotted along the dirt road as Oliver was sitting at the back of the woman watching her guiding the horse the reins firm in her grip, they did not have another horse because Oliver joining them was a short and unexpected notice.

The group was made up of 6 people including Oliver with five horses, Oliver among them, three horses at the back and two at the front with Sol leading the way alongside a Man named Garrett. Oliver could feel the eyes of the man in front upon him, He had been skeptical of Oliver's inclusion since the beginning, and now that they were on the road, his doubts seemed to grow.

"I still don't think it's wise to bring him along," the man said, his voice low but firm.

"Bringing an F rank like him was not a bright idea Sol, and he'll only get in the way." The man added

"You think too little of our new companion, Garett," Sol said, his tone stern.

"Just because Oliver is a F rank hunter, does not mean he is unworthy. He has a good heart and the desire to fight regardless of his rank. I believe he will be a valuable member of our team, in time. Do not judge a man by his Rank, but by the character of his soul." His words hung heavy in the air, silencing Garett's doubts. Oliver was surprised by Sol's defense of him, and felt a sense of gratitude for the faith he had shown. Perhaps there was hope for him after all.

"Plus after we successfully complete this quest i'll personally train Oliver and teach him Atado" Sol added

"Hmph" Garrett looked straight forward.

"I know what you're thinking, Garett," Sol said, his voice tinged with a touch of amusement.

"But I'm not bringing Oliver along out of naivety. I know he's an F rank, but I see something in him. Something that tells me he'll rise to the occasion, that he'll overcome his weakness and become a skilled and capable hunter. Just give him a chance, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised."

Garett scoffed, but remained silent. He may not have been convinced, but he respected Sol enough to trust his judgment. the group continued on their journey

As Oliver looked at Sol, his mind drifted back to his past life before he was brought to the fantasy world, when he had first formed his band of archivists. They had been a motley crew, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. But it had been Kevin who had believed in him from the start, who had seen something in him that no one else had. Now, as he looked at Sol, he couldn't help but feel that same sense of conviction. Sol was his Kevin in this new life, and he would do everything in his power to live up to his expectations. With renewed resolve, he smiled at Sol and said,

"I won't let you down, Sol," Oliver said, his voice strong and steady.

"You can count on me to do my part, and to be the best member of this team that I can be. Just give me a chance, and I'll show you that I'm more than capable of taking on whatever challenges we face." There was a confidence in his words, and Sol couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and admiration. "I know you will, Oliver," he said, clapping a hand on his shoulder. "Now, let's get moving. We have a village

to reach and a quest to complete."

With that, they mounted their horses and rode off, the sun sinking lower in the sky as they set out towards their destination. The wind blew through Oliver's hair, and he felt a rush of excitement and anticipation. This was his chance to prove himself, to show that he was more than just a nobody from the lowly village at the stables (the place he rented at). He was ready to take on whatever the world had to throw at him. And with Sol by his side, he felt like he could do anything.
