chapter 12: highschool reunion

So it was the next day and I was looking through my emails, and I found one that said, " class of 2020 we welcome back to you for a class reunion, it will be held in the school gym, at the home of the trojans. This will be held on the date of November 3." I sighed and I wasn't sure if I should go. But I said heck with it. I wanted to prove that I could make it in the world. I then got another email, " class of 2020, we welcome back the cavaliers to a class reunion. This is going to be held in the gym, and on the date, November 7."

I sighed and well I texted Nikki and told him, " hey Nikki are we doing anything either november third or seventh?" He replied, " idk." I rolled my eyes and called Christine.

Conversation: Haley and Christine

H: hey Christine I have to ask you. Are we doing anything november third or seventh?

C: no not that I know of why?

H: I have two class reunions coming up. One on the third and one on the seventh.

C: cool. Do you know what you want to wear?

H: no. I haven't thought that far yet. I just got the emails today.

C: oh. Well if you need help just let me know.

H: thanks. But I will talk to you later. Bye

So I hung up the line and it wasn't that far away. So, I live In ohio. And I used to go to highschool in indiana. So this would mean I have to either take a car, which would be about a four hour drive, that or take a plane and not have a ride at all. So I just said have I with it. And I packed my bags and booked a hotel, since the third was Sunday. And today was Saturday. So I booked a hotel. And texted Christine, " hey Christine I am going to be gone for a few days please keep me posted if there is anything new. Thanks." I sent that and started to pack a bag. I got a text from sky saying, " hey Haley. I miss you and Christine told me you had a class reunion coming up. Can I go with I would like to spend time with you. Luv you lots."

I smiled and I do trust him. But I texted back, " sure but I leave tomorrow and I have two one tomorrow and one thursday. So I suggest you pack a bag and get your but over here. Since I am leaving tonight." I grabbed my duffle bag and I packed two dresses, one was a pencil dress to the knees, and had one sleeve. So I thought that was cute and it could show off my tattoos. But I was going to wear that tomorrow and my other offutt was going to be. Black dress pants, professional tank top. And it came with a vest so that was good but I wanted to make a statement.

But I brought my black wedges, and silver stilettos. Along with my makeup. And curling iron. But I put that all in to the bag and after a while I heard a knock on my door. So I opened that and I saw skylar. I gave him a hug. And he said, " Haley are you okay you kind of bailed last night. I was worried," I sighed. " I was feeling sick and tired. So I called a taxi and went home." He gave me a hug. And said, " so when do you want to leave?" I thought for a moment, " in five minutes. If that is alright?" He nodded. But I made sure we had everything ready and I asked him, " are you ready. Do you have all of your stuff?" He nodded yes. So I rented a car and it was a sports car. But I wanted to rent that because I don't have a car really.

But I put both our stuff in the trunk and I was wearing pajamas still but I was driving and we switched everytime we stopped and I thought that was good. But we got there in four hours and I booked a hotel in Chesterton. I can't believe I said that. But it was a double bed and one bathroom. But once we got there I saw a lot changed. But we got there and checked in and it was on the third floor. But it was pretty late so I called it a night and went to bed.

Next day

So I woke up and sky was up and I checked the time it was noon. And I heard sky say, " well good morning sleepy head." I sighed, and said, " what time did you wake up?" He said, " about an hour ago." I got up and he walked over and gave me a hug and kiss then said, " good morning my beautiful." It made me blush but I started to move around and wake up. But I had to get my offutt out and put that out on a hanger. I took a shower and sky went to grab a bite to eat. And well I was still thinking about my highschool years. Well to put it this way I enter to the duneland school district for most of my time. Then my last year of middle school I moved out and lived in culver. And went to that high school.

So after awhile I took a shower and started to do my hair. And my makeup was a thin layer of eyeliner. My hair was a braided crown. And I put my dress on and shoes. I saw skylar he was wearing a black jacket and had skinny jeans on with a pair of black dress shoes. Okay it was so hard not to fall flat on my face but to put it this way in my eyes he looked hot.

But I walked over and gave him a hug and said, " you look really cute." He smiled and gave me a kiss. But I grabbed my leather jacket and purse. I put my phone in it and well we went to the car and he said, " why don't you let me drive. It will give you a break." I nodded and said, " okay. Thank you and it isn't far." So we started to go to the exit and it took us only five minutes. But we saw the front doors and it was lit up. But I never thought I would see this place again.

But sky parked and he got out and quickly came over and opened the door for me. I thought that was sweet but I grabbed his arm and we walked in to the gym. Music was playing people were talking and it was all lit up. But I knew I was going to be a wallflower. But after a while I started to hide in the shadows. Like every party I am at. But sky came over to me and asked, " hey a Haley do you know a girl named Jillian or Macy?" I felt my eyes widen and I said, " well yeah. Why?"

Then they started to walk over, " hey bestie. Who is this piece of eye candy?" I was growling. So these two are Jillian and Macy. They are twins and well back in middle school they were the popular girls, and they used to bully me till I couldn't take it in hell anymore. But I said, " aw still a raging slut I see." She gave me a look. " so what type of job do you have now. Working as a cashier or a w**e?" I rolled my eyes, " well actual I sing four shattered soul and I think it was last weekend we got off of the Australia tour. That was fun. Besides I got to meet skylar." She looked at me dumbfounded.

And I was getting a little hot so I took off my jacket and they looked at me shocked. " what haven't you seen a woman with tattoos?" I straightened my dress and I wanted to keep my jacket outside. But when I was starting to walk back in I heard this, " okay class of 2020. We have a special guest and we'll we want her to sing a song. What do you think?" I heard a few claps but I wasn't sure who they meant. Hope they didn't mean me. " so Haley where are you. Haley knight." I was freaking shocked. But I went over there and he said, " okay Haley you have two choices, you choose your song or out of random. What do you think?" I had a smile appear.

I whispered in his ear, " halestorm freak like me. You can use my phone if you want." He nodded and I had it on youtube. But he plugged it in and it started to play, I grabbed a mic and well I had this big grin. I knew what they were doing they wanted to see if I was lying. But no I was not and I sang my heart out and people were starting to gather around. I was happy and jumping around.

But I got finished and a lot of people were clapping. And well I saw the two on the side giving me a mean look, and on the other side I saw skylar clapping and he had a big smile on his face. But I gave the mic back and he starts to walk over to me. And I smile and gave him a hug but we walk over to the side, and I was about to talk to him when I heard raveling footsteps. I turn to see jupilian and Macy.

I couldn't help but to laugh, " wow still a lying nobody I see.?" Okay excuse me. " I'm sorry what?" She continued, " you heard me. You weren't singing just lip syncing. " okay I can understand that but I don't think I sound like lzzy hale. " okay I am going to take that as a compliment. So thanks for saying I sound like elizabeth Mae." They looked at me like what? " lzzy hale. The lead for halestorm." They still looked at me with a stupid face. I rolled my eyes and replied, " nevermind. Why do I even try. I just guess you will never know real music." I was about to walk away when she turned me around and punched me in the face.

" wow, I am so hurt?" I started to laugh. " you won't push me around. I have grown to be strong. And no one and I mean no one will take that away." I am so glad I am wearing heels. But I saw she tried to swing at me again. So I started to take off my shoes and I still had my purse so I asked skylar, " can you hold these please." He did I said, " thank you. Now I have to kick her a**" I started to walk over and I just socked her in the mouth. She jumped back a little then I punched her in the nose. And she knocked out.

I straightened my dress and grabbed my shoes and purse. And walked away. I went to grab my jacket. And walked out to the car?

Skylar's pov

Okay so I saw these two girls and they were giving Haley a hard time. But what I saw after she told me to hold her shoes and purse. Holy, omg. But she walked to the car and I waited a moment the followed after. But once I got to the car she was silent the whole ride back to the hotel. I was worried but this fire inside was burning in my lungs.

Haley's pov

I had thoughts running through my head. Remembered everything. And that was why I never went to school outings or parties, or games or any sports games. Those two humiliated me. This is what happened at the farewell dance. They made me go. And well it was rigged but I was wearing a floor length dress and it was white silk. And what they did was made me go up there and after they announced that I was supposedly a winner for the dance, they drenched me in fake blood. It was horrible. And I was starting to get use to being a known person. But no. I can't be known. I will always be a nobody.
