Prologue

As minutes grew to hours and day to night, so did Lennox's love for Trisha grow.

Alpha Lennox was the alpha of the biggest pack among the five packs in Oakland, he had taken over the pack after the death of his father

And has conquered many territories within a few years. It could be said that most packs in Oakland were his, but Lennox had yet to find his mate.

When he did find her during a war with the wolf hunters, he was disappointed because he had expected his mate would be a Luna from a wealthy pack just like him.

Lennox could not reject the mate bond despite so much pressure from members of his pack, but his love for her grew deeper and stronger until he finally made her his Luna.

Although Trisha did not understand the mate bond, she was ready to sacrifice everything for Lennox but lost her life during childbirth.

Ryder, her son, slowly grew up thanks to the beta's wife, Lisa, who was a good friend of his mother.

She was yet to have any child when Ryder was just a baby, she loved and took care of Ryder like her own.

During the times when he was bullied, he never ran to his father, who regarded him as weak, instead, he ran to Lisa, who would defend him with everything she had.

Lisa had a baby girl when Ryder was seven years old, named Karen, but as Karen grew, she became ruthless like her father.

When Ryder was twelve years old, Lisa had overheard her husband Beta Ralph discuss with members of the cabinet how to eliminate the Alpha.

She immediately hurried to the pack house to inform Alpha Lennox of the impending danger but was attacked on her way there.

Ryder had secretly watched Lisa be killed, he was just a child and could do nothing as he watched the woman who had bathed and cared for him since birth be murdered by her husband.

Still in shock at what had happened, Ryder scurried to the pack house to inform his father of what had happened, but he was too late when he arrived.

Beta Ralph had invaded the pack house with his men and slaughtered everyone.

Ryder, who was just a child who was bullied all his life because he had no wolf genre, watched all the people he cared about be killed.

At such a tender age, his heart became filled with rage and hatred, he desperately wanted to go out there and take the men who killed his father, but was stopped by one Ralph's aid.

Sawyer had plotted the attack side by side with Ralph for years, he led the attack to pack house and when he saw Ryder sneaking around, he rushed over to him.

Ryder tried to fight off the big man, but all his efforts were useless, Sawyer carried the little boy on his shoulder, and Ryder, who had expected Sawyer to take him to his new Alpha, was confused as he watched Sawyer take him away from town.

He stopped at the boundary where a boat was waiting. As he placed the little boy on the boat, he patted his shoulder and spoke.

" Go and live your life and be happy, do not think about revenge or be bittered, forget about whatever you witnessed today, it is the fate of your father".

Ryder wasn't sure if he should thank the man who killed all his loved ones, but all he could do was wave as the boat sailed.

He was left on the shore of the other side of town, a twelve-year-old boy who wasn't sure if he was human or a werewolf was left alone in a strange town with no one and no food.

But despite it all, he knew one thing for sure, he wasn't going to die, he had to survive, no matter what it took, he had to avenge the death of all his loved ones, and he could not forget the image of the faithful day haunted his sleep.
