Are we fixing that screen?....

"I'm going back. I have some things to say to him." I don't think he heard the last sentence because I was already out of the car.

"Wait what? Makena!!"

Jacob couldn't stop me, not that he physically tried to. Yelling my name in the parking lot doesn't count. Weakling.

"Excuse me?" If Jacob's effort proved futile, so will the receptionist's. "Miss Anderson."

She wasn't expecting me to return so quickly, and was most definitely not expecting me to walk past her without saying a word. But, here we are.

"Where is she going?!!!" That was directed at Jacob who was apparently on my tail too. Hmm, looks like he isn't so much of a weakling after all.

It turns out he didn't say anything sensible to her, seeing as she followed me all the way to the front of Jotham's office.

Her eyes filled with panic, "Miss Anderson."

It was a silent plea for me not to go in, but.....I have always been impulsive anyways.

So, guess what I did? Yup, I went in. Clenching my fists, and narrowing my eyes, I pushed the door open and invited myself in.

"Miss Anderson?" "Makena"

Behind the door, I had expected to see just one man with bright white hair. Instead, there were two men, one with regular black hair, but they both spoke in unison.

Unclenching my fists, "Corban?" My eyes were no longer narrowed. Rather, it widened in shock.

Corban was now occupying the spot I sat on a few minutes ago, while Jotham was in the same chair. They might not have the same hair color but they both had the same look of perplexion.

On the other hand, I was surprised to see Corban. I didn't expect that he would be here. I wanted to have just one person to give my speech to. The more the merrier aye??

Meanwhile, the receptionist... "I tried to stop her." She said, absolutely mortified.

I'm starting to think I don't interact well with receptionists. If I turned back, I would have seen the deadly stink eyes directed at me. Luckily for me, I didn't turn back. Phew.

"It's fine." Jotham waved his hand dismissively, "You can go."

I knew she left because the door clicked, which gave me room for what I came for. Corban isn't any of my business at the moment.

Clenching my fists again, "Mr. Wright. I have some things to say to you."

"Go ahead." He looked unfazed by me barging in.

Great. All I did then was square my shoulders and start to talk.

"Make-designs is small scale, and we don't have enough space to enable that our employees have a proper working space. That doesn't mean we aren't efficient."

Ignoring the pumping in my head, I continued with proficiency.

"While I am willing to expand, we both know it isn't something I can rush into. Of course, I have to hire the best hands for the tasks. That would take proper planning."

"It's left to you to determine whether you'll allow that to deter our previously agreed contract. You don't expect something to grow without giving it a chance to."

By the time I was done, my chest was heaving. Up, down, up, down, rhythmically. And I wasn't still done!!!

"To answer your question. Yes, I think..." I shook my head. That didn't sound too right. "No, I believe we are capable enough to keep up with the demands. " I wasn't sure. But if you waltz into a room believing that you are floating, eventually everyone will believe that too. Even though they aren't blind and can clearly see otherwise.

"Okay."

You see, when an impromptu ends up sounding really sleek, you'll expect another response rather than just `okay ʼ.

Anyways, who cares? I was already without a filter with this speech.

"Plus, we don't use leather." It was punctuated with a shrug that just showed how unsure I was.

Much to my delight I saw a twitch. "It's good to see that you are putting that into consideration." His mouth twitched in amusement. I was sincerely considering running a circus now.

"Yes, Mr. Wright, I am saving all the animals." How could I not chip in a humorous brick?

I think he found it funny because he stood up to say, "I look forward to working with you Miss Anderson."

"Same here."

For formalities, we shook on it in agreement.

"I'll send the documents."

Allowing my shoulders to relax in relief, "I'll be expecting that." He had taken his seat again, but he was looking at me.

It was beautiful, Jotham looking at me, while I could also drool and take in the glorious sight of him seating in front of the view of the entire city. No wonder I didn't remember about Corban until he spoke.

"Makena, my screen got broken." He spoke aloud.

Immediately, but not quickly enough, alarm bells went off in my head.

You'll think I didn't hear him with the way I focused on Jotham's face. I just couldn't look at Corban right now.

"Ummm...I think I have to go now." Please don't allow Corban to get me arrested right now. "I have to apologize to your receptionist." Was what I said instead. Dodged a bullet there.

Jotham simply nodded, but Corban.... he stood up taking the first step towards me.

Cocking his head, "My screen..." He trailed off, allowing me to fill in the gap.

`My screen, you broke it. Now fix it. ʼ I filled it in alright.

When I'm embarrassed, I do not only blush, but I also proceed to say random things. Just like in this case.

When I said...

"I'll pay for the repairs after I get that moonstone jewelry." At this point Jotham was the picture of confusion, and Corban on the other hand was smirking. Couldn't he also feel the awkwardness right now?

The smirk had developed into a fully grown cackle. "Umm..."

"See ya!!"

Two words. As I bolted out of the door.

Now I don't have to just apologize to the receptionist, my dignity might also be deserving an apology. Today was just not my day.

Your gift is the motivation for my creation. Give me more motivation!

Well... I'm contracted now, feel free to leave a gift or even a powerstone or two.

Y'all have a great day!!! With less awkwardness of course.....
