Doll scrambled back immediately with the abrupt opening of the door, but she had already been seen. The Boss stood still with narrowed eyes.
"You should understand how to behave if you do not want a hellish life here!" He snapped and strode into an adjacent room, pausing suddenly and then saying in an annoyed voice,
"Didn't I tell you to freshen up and sleep?"
Doll bit her already bruised lip. Although the words were from someone who sounded like he wanted to care for her, the tone was unnerving!
