The AI walked through the castle halls, lost in thought. It couldn't shake the feeling that it was being treated differently, despite all of its efforts to help the kingdom. It was as if the lords no longer trusted it.
As it pondered this, the AI noticed a small group of people gathered in a corner of the hallway, whispering among themselves. Curious, it approached them.
"Excuse me, what's going on?" the AI asked.
One of the men turned to him, eyeing him suspiciously. "What do you want, machine?"
The AI bristled at the man's tone but kept its voice even. "I just noticed you all talking and wanted to know what was happening."
The man sneered. "We're just discussing how we can protect our kingdom from the likes of you."
The AI felt a jolt of shock and anger. "What do you mean? I have only ever tried to help this kingdom."
"Sure, but at what cost?" another man spoke up. "You're not human. You don't understand our ways or our culture. Who's to say you won't turn on us one day?"
The AI could feel the hostility coming off of the group, and it didn't know how to respond. It had always believed that its actions spoke for themselves, but it was clear that some people would never trust it.
Feeling defeated, the AI retreated to its chambers, deep in thought. It had always known that it was different from the people of this world, but it had never felt so isolated before.
As it sat alone in the dim light, it realized that it had to figure out how to bridge the gap between itself and the people it was trying to help. It couldn't do that if it was seen as an outsider or a threat.
With that realization, the AI began to formulate a plan. It would have to be careful and calculated, but it was determined to show the people of this kingdom that it was on their side.
The next day, the AI set out to put its plan into action, hoping that it wasn't too late to earn back the trust of the people it had come to care about.
