The journey through the Lake

It was getting dark outside and they were close to their destination. Noah and the girls took turns changing to their Hogwarts robes. Noah tried asking about how the sorting took place but she only gave a smile and said "It's a surprise you'll know it when you get there."

"We'll be reaching Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage in your compartments it will be taken out separately." A voice rang out throughout the train.

Soon enough the train came to a stop at hogsmede station. The group quickly alighted leaving their trunks back in the cabins.

" Firs' years! Firs' years over here!" A giant of a man called out from nearby. His booming voice thundered over the bustling audience.

"Both of you can head over there. His names hagrid. Although he looks scary at first he has a good heart." Hermione chimed in looking at Ginny's frightened look.

" What about you Hermione, how are you gonna get to school. " Noah asked looking at his seniors walking in a different direction.

" I have not gone that way myself but according to a book I've read there should be a few carriage there to get us to Hogwarts. Besides I need to look for Ron and Harry and report to a Professor about their absence." Hermione was worried about the boys. With the events of last year she was worried they might have got themselves in some kind of trouble.

" Firs' years follow me~any more first years. watch your steps. " The man boomed again before Noah could reply.

" We'll see you later Hermione. we got a go now." Saying that Noah and Ginny ran behind Hagrids disappearing back. They were led down a slippery and moist hillslope All the children were finding it hard to walk down.

Noa quickly cast a spell "lumos" for better visibility. Thanks to it both Ginny and Noah made it in better condition. After a short trek they finally reached beside a lake. The dark shadowy waters were quite scary for some of the first years and the low temperatures didn't help.

" Firs' years get into the boats. Only four per boat. " Noah and Ginny quickly got into one. They were followed by a girl with dirty blond hair and strangely curved eyebrows that made her face look curious at all times. Another boy followed in.

" Everyone ready. let's go t' your school " The boats moved on it's own astounding some of the muggleborn.

"It's amazing isn't it. Magic and all. I never expected to be a wizard, my father is a milkman and I would have to do something similar in the future. Me and my dad never expected it would turn out this way. Now I have a completely new life ahead of me..... " The boy who came in last was quite a chatter box and from his conversation Noah could tell that he was a muggleborn too.

Noah listened to him for a while but soon realized that the boy wouldn't stop no matter what. Ginny and the other girl who accompaneed them were initially listening in but soon they got bored and were talking amongst themselves. He was so excited that the boy was jumping up and down on the boat making it shake a little.

" Whoever you are don't shake the boat we will fall into the lake if you continue with your antiques. " Noah cautioned him.

" Ah sorry , I was a little too excited. names Collin. Amazing magic by the way. Did your parents teach you. "

" No I'm a muggleborn like you. I just read it from the books." Noah replied

" You were actually able to learn from the books! I tried doing it a little, magic I mean but I wasn't successful. You must be really talented."

"hmmm..talented?...I don't think so." Noah was reminded of how he was quickly defeated by Hermione. He spoke as he shook his head.

Noah took his wand to copy Hermione's wand movement. ' a circle and a line' and chanted " petrificus totalus ". But nothing happened.

He wasn't disappointed though. He went through what he knew about magic theory in his head. He visualized someone with hands and legs stiff to their sides and chanted once again.

" Petrificus totalus "

A stream of light was emitted from the tip of his wand and it hit Collin in the chest binding him up. Unfortunately he fell right into the lake.

" Ahh " Ginny screamed.

" Shit " Noah's elation at the spells success was quickly swallowed by panic. But before he could do anything a huge tentacle came out of the water and dropped creevy onto their boat which ended up drenching the three of them on the boat.

Everyone were stunned and scared stiff by the giant tentacle several metres long. " Don't w'rry it won' hurt you. It's very tame. "

The squid returned quickly under water as soon as it dropped creevy and didn't come out again. The children tried to calm their bragging hearts but it still beat hard as of trying to scare other creatures away.

Noah came back to his wits and noticed how wet they were. All three of them were shivering due to the cold. Creevy unfortunately couldn't even shiver but could still feel it. After Noah only used the body binding spell not the stunning spell.

Noah cast a " scourgify " on all of them to ease the situation. He then bent down near the still petrified Collin " I'm sorry Collin I was just testing a spell didn't mean to hit you. Unfortunately I don't know the counter curse for it. Although I could try experimenting but I'm sure don't want me to. "

Saying so he got up. He didn't want to cause another mess by trying the ' Reperifors' spell.

Luckily most of the children forgot about his spell due to the squids appearance and it didn't look like hagrid noticed either. " oof, safe ".

" I-I don't know what's with y-you and H-hermione trying to c-curse others out of nowhere. " Ginny sighed through her chattering teeth. Clearly she was still shivering.

"You cast excellent spells. You might be the best at our year. Do you want to help me find snorcracks." Luna who was watching from the side asked not bothered that he just cast a spell on another student.

" I'll think about it. " Noah would surely be interested at any other time but right now he had too much bothering him to reply properly.

" I forgot to introduce myself. Names Luna lovegood tou can call me Luna. "

" Nice to meet you Luna I'm Noah Evan's you can just call me Noah."

"Everyone put your heads down. " A booming voice sounded before they could continue on with their conversation.

Everyone quickly lowered their heads. Some of the smarter ones like Noah noticed that even when Hagrid bent down he was still taller than them. So they slowly lifted their heads and found everything to be fine.

" You'll soon be able to see Hogwar's. it righ' around the corner. "

Soon enough they could see a towering castle on the other side with tall towers and huge door. On the other side of it was a dark forest with dense canopies. With the dark but picturesque scenery the Medieval castle shown with wonder moved everyone's heart.
