Chapter 16

Auguste Bourne and Blades Somore are half brothers, Auguste being the legitimate son. Their mother had an affair with another man, and had no choice but to bring Blades into the family when Auguste's father killed their mother's lover.

Auguste had always gained favour from his father, but miraculously Blades wasn't hated either. Instead, their mother was sacked from the house. This made Blades very angry and he swore that he would make Auguste suffer. For what reason, he himself cannot say(Literally forgetting that they have the same mother).

Being the prodigal son that he is, he took his share of his money after their father died and went out enjoying himself : women, sex, drinks, casino. When his money finally ran out, he came home, only to find out that not only has Auguste succeeded in expanding his father's business, he is also married and he has a beautiful daughter.

Cooing his way back into his brother's heart, he convinced him to set up a casino at the end of town. Gathering up a group of ruffians, he finally made the La Luna Bar succeed, but everyone who kept on coming there was working at the Bourne Inc., and. he hated that. And so Blades decided to take the one best thing Auguste ever had; his wife.

But even after doing so, Auguste had his only daughter, Amsterdam, by his side.

Second Earth Phase :Day 9

Amsterdam quietly tapped on her phone's screen, oblivious to her parents yelling at each other. Does she always have to be unlucky, she thought.

She wanted to observe anything Ray would post.

Phasegram? No.

Does he think I can't stalk him? Or send spies after him? Or even set up cameras in the room?!

She slumped into the bed and shook her head. I hate myself, she thought again. She couldn't definitely stalk him; that would ruin their friendship.

Feeling remorse over her attitude yesterday, she forced on her best smile and went to her bathroom to freshen up.

"Is that what she said?", Sydney asked the receptionist. She meekly shook her head as a reply. Ray had gotten very angry at her attitude, she reckoned. "Good morning Ray", she greeted Ray, realizing that he was in the office earlier than usual. "We'll go to her place. I don't know if it's a threat or what, but if she wants me to leave, I'd do it", Ray angrily spat out. Sydney suddenly made a Catholic gesture and gave him her puppy eyes. "I'm kidding, but if that's the only way, I'd have to do it", he added.

Business was run smoothly by them, and when it was time for them to leave, they pleaded with Patrick to give them directions to her residence. Patrick, being willing, helped them.

So Amsterdam got a hug from her two close friends(upon reaching her house). "I'm sorry", Ray said, "but do me a favour and let's leave here. The environment is creepy enough". Amsterdam weeped and hugged Ray again. "I'm very sorry for being angry. And yes, I agree", she said.
