Little Sister

Alexander is still holding her hands when they walk towards Philip Lu.

"Mr. Lu, this is Lexi Min. Your daugther in law." Alexander looks his father straight in his eyes.

Old Man Lu chuckles. " What you did today will open a huge dispute with the Zhangs.Vanessa is here and she already agreed to the wedding date.

Alexander looks at Vanessa who is busy eyeing Lexi. "What is the meaning of this Vanessa?"

"Alex..for sure you know that I did everything because I like you. Just imagine the two biggest family merge together because of our marriage. Plus, I have always love you."

Lexi looks around no media can be seen and people are avoiding to be on their direction. No brave soul is strong enough to eavesdrop. She is surprisingly calm. She is not smiling but she doesn't look like panicking either.

Alexander's hold is becoming tighter. She can sense the tension in his body.

"Vanessa, you know that I also love you...as a little sister. I have trained you to be independent to show to everyone that you are not a spoiled American brat that will just sit around and be served."

Vanessa laughs. "I am a brat and I would like to just sit around and be served. Who would not? I mean I enjoyed working very closely without hoping that it will change your feelings. But if I can get you all by myself, I have asked the help of my future father in law." She smiles and slight touches the arm of Old Man Lu.

The old man smiles back contented. All a long Vanessa is really planning to be the heiress of the Zhang Industries but she would like to just enjoy the revenue and the dirty work will be left to her future husband.

Alexander sighs. "So it is you all along. You are the reason my father presurres my mother and because of that she has a stroke. Then I was forced to chose over her and the woman I loved. I wasted my time training you. You are a lost cost."

Alexander pulls Lexi and they are about to leave. "And I will never marry you. Force me and I will resign. I will pull out all my connections. And you Mr. Lu.." He intently looks at his father. "You will experience again to start from the scratch. Let's see if you can still do that."

Alexander guided Lexi to the exit. When they have settled inside her SUV. "I am so sorry if you have to see all of that. I did not know that press conference will be held and Vanessa planned everything from the start.

Lexi looked at the pained expression of Alexander. Does he loved her just like a sister? Or there is smothing else?

"Did you love her?" Lexi asks

"I do. I love her as a sister. She is always by my side when I need someone to talk to. She is a friend."

Lexi just holds her tongue and did not say a word while they drive back to his apartment.

"You need to rest. Again, I am so sorry for what happened today. I will see you tomorrow?" Alexander's eyes are full of longing.

"Yes" Lexi answered without even thinking and mentally castigate herself.

Alecander walks and Lexi wonders where he leaves to her surprise, he enters the gate next door.

Oh boy! This is the start of her nightmare.
