Chapter 24: Dash

Of course, I was ready to head back to the academy and help Aurelius with the lockdown. I felt like we were letting the other students down by not being there for them. But Estelle insisted that we wait until Aurelius gave us the okay. Unfortunately, the only thing on everyone's mind was trying to help Cassandra figure out how to deal with Oliver. As the leader of our group it was time to bring an end to all the speculation.

I checked the house to make sure everyone was gone and then headed to Cassandra's room. With all the distractions gone, we should have been able to iron out what to do next.

"You okay?" I asked when I entered her room. "I can leave if you want." Only I found my joke funny. "We need to get you to relax."

"How can I relax when I have so many things pushing against me? Every time I think I have things figured out, a mystery pops up. I'm not Nancy Drew."

"Who?"

"Never mind." She stood at the window and stared at the horizon. "Where is everyone?"
