Chapter 5: My Past in Shambles.

Stirring awake she looks through the double french doors across from her bed. Carefully she moves her arms and legs and notices that her body is still a little sore, but is finally recuperating nicely. Getting out she feels the light sheen fabric of a gauzy nightdress sliding down along her legs and sweep along the floor. The illuminated blue color of the moon sweeps along the balcony that she can see through the glass french doors. Mesmerized by the beauty of the moonlight she slowly crept along the floors and opens the doors to the balcony. Unaware of the noise they make from the hinges not being oiled.

Her feet find themselves on the smooth surface of the balcony that stretches from one end of the manor to the other. Approaching the sturdy railing that has intricate oak wood rods supporting a white granite bar wide enough to support someone to sit upon. Hoisting herself up upon the bar, tucking her knees in under her chin as her long nightgown drapes all around her. She grows completely unaware of her surroundings as she grows immersed in staring at the blue light the moon gives off.

His eyes never leave her as he carefully approaches her. She sits there quietly as he watches the teardrop along her cheek. Her radiant long white-blonde hair spills behind her and rests halfway below the railing. Sadness radiates from her and nears her and just about startles her from her trance as he spoke in a hushed tone, "I suppose you can not sleep?". She turns her head to the left in an upward angle as her eyes roll to her peripheral view. She remembers the man from earlier today and she responds sweetly, "It appears I am having some trouble trying to sleep after what has happened earlier." She focuses on the moon as she murmurs, "This moon is so surreal. I never have seen anything like it."

"Yes, it is beautiful." He considers her for a moment, "Have you not seen the moon before?"

Confused she scrunches her brows together making her appear cuter. "Matter of fact I have seen the moon before, but nothing quite like this one. This one has blue in it, the one I supposedly grew to know was just white and gray."

At first, he was just going to let her statement pass until he had noticed two things about what she said. "Wait a minute. You said, 'The one you supposedly grew to know.'?", he questions as he gets intrigued. Waiting patiently he leans forward bracing himself with his forearms resting upon the railing next to the woman.

"Well yes, this is Earth and it has one moon", she states as if Lucian is daft. Strange how he could ask such a mundane question. Shaking her head she turns back to look up at the blue moon. Although. Now she thinks about it. This moon is different, so is the sun. What is going on and what has changed since she woke up? "Why do ask as if I'm the one that's losing it?"

He shakes his head and looks at her. "We have two moons. Well had two moons, when you showed up the purple moon just randomly disappeared. Things have changed a long time ago." Noticing the confusion deepening he finally takes a deep breath in and upon exhaling he asks, "Who's Nisha?"

"I do believe that's my name. Well, that is what I remember it to be. How long have I been out of it?"

He replies to her, "Just a few hours here and there."

Shaking her head no, "That's not what I meant. What I meant is how long have I been unaware? Has it been days, weeks, or months?"

Shrugging his shoulders as he says, "It's the year 2110."

Defeated she drops her head down on her knees and her body begins the tremble as a wave of sobs begins to erupt from her. Her stifled weeping makes her shoulders shudder. She feels the loss of what she doesn't know or understand. Exactly 100 years have come and gone. The people who once were part of a family she does not remember. The face that smiled in the mirror of the car no longer exists. Was she reincarnated? Her overwhelming shock has made her mind break down. She begins to grow faint as she swoons.

Lucian quickly grips her shoulders and brings her in, cradling her in his strong arms. She opens her eyes halfway as she looks up at him. "Did you remember something while you took your bath earlier today?" She nods her head yes in response to his question. Nisha takes a deep breath and explains to him as best as she can about what all had happened and her broken memories that came in and out. She grows nervous as he strangely looks at her. Her fear of being considered as some crazed woman comes rushing back. Insecurities flooding through her mind, making her question if he'll stay and help once he finds out just how insane she may sound. She truly never felt so scared in her life before. The feeling your own life falling into someone else's hands while you know nothing about the world you currently live in. It is earth-shattering and life-altering.

Nisha takes a deep breath and nervously tells him what she remembered and a tear slides down her face. Lucian feeling compelled to soothe her he takes his thumb and wipes her tear up. Lost in her eyes he absentmindedly bends over and brushes his lips upon hers. At first, she squirms unsure how she feels about him approaching her. She blushes as she feels a faint breeze of his lips lingering above hers. A soft sound escapes her soft lips making them part, and before she could protest he took it as an invitation to kiss her. She moans and closes her eyes after her shock of being kissed subsides. Her body grows warm and tingly as she moves her arms to drape around his shoulders and neck.

They open their eyes as they both realize something strange was happening. Her violet eyes almost appear as if they glowed. Her hair shines brightly as if there was a mist of glowing moon dust that radiated from her hair, pale skin brighten as if it has basked far too long in the moonlight. Leaving her beauty in a surreal state that made Lucian paused and wonders what it is about her that attracts him so. He was a man of good stature and outstanding since of morals that even an elder pales in comparison to his character. "What are you?", he whispers as she sits her feet back on the ground. His fingers softly dig into the back of her sides as he does not want to let her go.

Lifting her hand before her face she peers at his piercing ice-blue eyes between her fingers as she responds softly in awe, "I do not know, but I hope to find out." Nisha's eyes grow heavy with each blink. She stifles a yawn and she clutches to him and begins to wane in and out of consciousness. "Finally ready to go to sleep Nisha?" Looking up at Lucian she nodded her head yes as he begins to guide her back to bed. Once he's got her placed in bed he lifts the covers over her tucking her in and he smiles down at her. Standing up he tells her, "Good night sleep well. May the moons and stars watch over you. Should you need anything come get me. My room is next door to the right." He goes to walk away and feels her dainty hand snatch his wrist and tugs on him lightly. "Don't go." Her eyes plead with him, telling him she doesn't wish to be alone.

Hesitantly he shuffles up to the other side of the bed. "All right, but you'll stay in the covers. I'll just lay on top of them." He lays on the bed and sidling up to her on his side. Sighing happily she nestles down and begins to sleep. Draping his arm across her stomach and brings his nose to the nape of her neck as he inhales her scent. The sweet aroma of vanilla and rose filling his sense of smell. Closing his eyes and thought to himself before going to sleep. I will be watching over her and should she ever be in trouble I will be watching over her.

They lay together as a peaceful breeze blow softly through the window that was left open. Curtains billowing into the room as the sounds of water washing up along the shore echoing in the distance. The moon that once was blue now shines a bright white. Watching over the two of them it begins to wane as the night carries on. Soon the sun will rise and a new day will arise.
