"Speak, Koros," boomed a deep and husky voice, freezing the particles in the air. "I don't want to hear any excuses."

The towering death god glared at the demon commander and tapped his fingers impatiently on his skull armrest.

"So?" he said, continuing to pressure, not giving the purple demon any time to react. "Why did it take so long?"

A chill ran down Koros's spine as he averted his gaze from the infuriated god. Sure, Hades was known to be a softie with his wife and kids, but there was no one more demonic than the dark son of Chronus in the entire universe.

The purple demon knelt before his liege apologetically and rubbed his black horns in shame.

"M-my liege," he stammered for the second time in his life. "My subordinate used twenty days of PTO, and I had to respect his wishes. After all, he only gets twenty days of vacation once every hundred years."
