A Cold-Blooded POV

It burned an entire kingdom to the ground for petty revenge against the humans. It ransacked the Board of Sorcery, hoarding all the cores in their treasury to ease its greed. It killed and destroyed a God for entering its territory without its permission. In a cavern within the Great Aeternus Labyrinth, a reptile seemly like any other hatched from its egg. With a growing intellect it shouldn’t have and adaptability traits that is impossible for its current tier of evolution, it began its life surviving and growing stronger. Read as this reptile mutate and evolve. Watch as it change the world of Atinen, as it usher the world into a new age of chaos and destruction as well as prosperity and hope. *** I know you guys are tired of fun monster evolution stories where the monster becomes increasingly less monstrous, and eventually they're just a more spicy version of a human and it stops being a monster evolution story. I am too. This story is not about a human who was hit by a truck and reincarnated into a world where he so happens to be a monster. No. This story follows the Mc who is a monster with a monster’s mentality and POV. However, reincarnation is apart of the story. Additionally I have taken certain elements from some of my favorite non-human novels and stories such as: Chrysalis, Kumo Desu ga, Nanika?, and even Re: monster. Point is, I’m incorporating a large amount of ideas and flipping them to fit my story.

Blake Foxx

Blake stood outside of the guild leader's office. He was here to ask for permission to enter the Great Aeternus Labyrinth which was located northwest of Veenvale. It was the closest Dungeon, and also the one he was most experienced in since that was where the regime captains took the rookies for training.

He had a slim build with a moderately built and toned body from physical training. His face was sharp with ice-blue eyes. He had long black hair that hung all the way down to his back.

He breathed in, sucking in as much air as his lungs could hold, then breathed out. He looked awkward standing in the empty hallway facing the door, however, any guild member- hell, anyone normal person who knew of the guild leader's strength and attitude would do the same. He needed to mentally prepare for himself before he knocked on the door.

Finally gaining the courage he knocked on the door three times. Silence, there was no answer from inside. Blake then knocked again, this time announcing himself.

"Uh, Guild master it's me, Blake Foxx. Can I come in?"

Still nothing. At this point, Blake had started to picture the guild leader silently staring daggers at the door, probably testing the patience of the rookie guild member.

That was the kind of guy the guild leader, Wilfred, was. Strict and rough around the edges, the very definition of stoic. Blake started to sweat slightly, his imagination running wild with all sorts of scenarios.

"Blake, what are you doing?"

Suddenly a voice shook him out of his stupor, the voice was delicate but also firm. He turned to his right, looking to see who called out to him. It was the Vice-Guild leader, Melinda, she was around 5ft and 7inches, downed in her all-black guild uniform.

She had round emerald green eyes and shiny blonde hair. Seeing that it was just the Vice-Guild leader Blake sighed.

"Oh it's just you, I almost had a heart attack." He said holding his chest, and breathing fast.

Melinda frowned at his lack of formality.

"You're supposed to salute upon seeing me or the guild Master, you should show the proper respect when greeting your superiors," she said narrowing her eyes.

Blake simply smiled teasingly then threw his right fist on his chest in a salute, covering the Tremblebane guild insignia.

"Ah, sorry is this better? You just caught me off guard so I forgot to salute." He said with his cheeky smile still plastered on his face.

The Vice-Guild leader was indeed the second in charge however, due to all the rumors spreading throughout the rookies she was looked at as a woman who could easily be walked over due to her sweet and kind nature.

Seeing this Melinda sighed heavily then spoke up once more. "At ease, now tell me, why are you at the guild master's office? I'm sure you know that newbies aren't allowed back here without permission."

Blake dropped his salute, resting his hands in his pockets in a carefree posture. "I came here to ask the guild master for permission to enter the dungeon. I'm close to upgrading my Magic Swordsman class to Rank 2, I just need to cultivate and digest a few more monster cores."

"The guild master is out at the moment, but you cannot enter any of the dungeons right now, the Enforcers have to do a dungeon sweep before anyone can get inside the dungeon again. Until then all members are to stay away from them." The Vice-leader shot back.

Blake stared blankly at her before continuing like he hadn't heard her last words. "Vice-leader I don't think you understand, I only need just a little more of a push before I reach Rank 2. The Enforcers probably won't even be here for the next two or three days, I'll be in and out."

"Blake did you not hear what I said, it is mandatory that everyone stays out of the dungeons until the Enforcers do a dungeon sweep, I won't say this again."

Hearing this Blake bit his lip, was she really trying to stop him from becoming stronger? Him getting stronger would benefit the guild dramatically, even the guild master had praised his talent personally so why couldn't she understand it? Blake tried to convince her one more time.

"But Vice-leader I can-"

"I said no! Don't make me repeat it, you need to humble yourself. When your superiors give an order you should listen the first time." The Vice-leader interrupted, she had grown tired of this newbie who was so arrogant as to not even care about her role as Vice-Guild leader. Her aura leaked out causing the ground to shake.

Blake grew silent. He was upset but he hold in his anger, though Melinda was someone he saw that was easy to walk over, at the end of the day she was still the Vice- Guild leader, offending her would definitely not slide with the guild master.

Not only that, but her aura was also terribly strong, not as strong as the guild master but she was still a veteran nonetheless.

Breaking the silence Melinda spoke up. "I don't want to hear another word regarding the dungeon, I've already given my opinion on the matter. Now you are dismissed, don't come back here unless you get permission from me or the guild master."

Blake bit his lip tightly but held it in patiently. He lifted his arm and slammed it in his chest stiffly, saluting to Melinda then he turned around and walked away.

Melinda watched as the young recruit walked away, she could practically see the steam that was coming from his head. She sighed again, folding her arms.

"Rookies, they are always tiresome."

Blake stormed out of the guild's reception, and two other boys who looked similar in age followed behind closely.

"So Blake, are we going to the dungeon? Did the guild master say yes?"

Blake ignored the boy and kept walking, he was walking toward the guild's armory for his weapon.

Seeing that Blake still hadn't talked, the other rookie asked. "The guild master, he said no didn't he?"

Blake quickly snapped, and he turned around glaring at the other two. "No he wasn't there, it was that bitch Melinda. Why is she even the Vice-Guild master she doesn't even do anything but chat with the higher-ups of the other guilds."

The two boys glanced at each other then one of them spoke again. "If she said no then what are we going to do?"

Blake smiled wildly, making his nose scrunch up like wrinkled paper. "Oh no, we're going to the dungeon. That bitch Melinda may not like having a talented individual like me here however, the guild master knows talent, and he's already praised my strength.

I'm sure after I reach magic swordsman Rank 2 he will probably move me up from the recruits and newbies training and I'll become a full-fledged member of Tremblebane Guild."
