The moment Calvin appeared in the hotel where he last logged off, he heard a system alert in his ears.

[Congratulations! You have gained "Blessing of ???"]

"...eh?" a deafening silence followed after Calvin uttered a confused sound as he was completely dumbfounded by what he heard from the system.

"The hell? How did I get this?" Calvin said as he didn't have a clue, not even one on how and why he suddenly got a blessing. He couldn't even start to guess the reason why since it appeared out of the blue.

The game has been running for quite a while already and with the efforts of millions of players around the world, many things about the game has been discovered.

One of those things that were recently discovered are blessings. It was first discovered by a famous player named HandsomePrince because he was the first one that gained a blessing by killing the first ever boss.

Whether or not he is truly the first to gain a blessing, this is still not proven. But the undeniable fact is that he did get a blessing since he shared the details of his blessing to his post.

After that post, there were some more players who posted their experiences of getting a blessing and with the help of smart players compiling all the information given by those players who gained a blessing and by asking for information from the NPCs, they came to a conclusion.

One, blessings is what one would expect. It was considered a type of skill that categorised under blessings.

Two, it was hard to get one for themselves because from what the pattern between all the players that gained blessings shows, you need to achieve a difficult feat in order to get the qualifications to receive it.

Three, there were likely restrictions placed upon the players who have blessings. This can be guessed since there was a part of the image that was blurred intentionally by the posters. This is to hide those restrictions from others to avoid revealing a weakness. It isn't proven yet that those parts are really restrictions but it most likely points to that.

Due to the restrictions, players were given a choice if they want to receive the blessing or not. This assured many players who hated being restricted when they didn't want to receive the blessing in the first place.

And the last is obvious. Blessings are given by gods and from what the NPCs told, gods are actually real. They're not just a mere concept or imagination.

The last part was what shocked the players the most. If the gods in Genesis are real, then that could only mean that the lore of the game is very deep and has many mysteries that have yet to be known to the players.

This fact made many players even more excited to play the game and the games popularity raised even more. Even Calvin was excited to know that the game has such a deep story behind it.

Well back to the present. He had read that posts earlier and so he knew what blessings are and that's exactly why he's so confused.

In no way at all did he managed to accomplish a difficult feat. Furthermore, what made it more strange is instead of saying the name of the god, there were only questions marks instead.

All of the blessings posted in the forums clearly says the name of the god who gave the blessing but his is a complete mystery.

Shaking his head, he checked the description of the blessing.

The description of the blessing is only little, so little that it didn't even took 1 minute to read. But the questions it brought to him is so numerous that he felt a headache.

'3 luck? Isn't that too high? Even getting 1 luck is hard from what Narasha said. And then there are levels? Ain't this too strong then? No restrictions? No orders or something? And what the fuck is that PS?'

Calvin frowned as he started to try and guess what the heck is happening for this blessing to suddenly appear on him but he didn't even had a lead or clue which made him frown harder.

In the end, he decided to just shake it off and even though suspicious of the blessing, he still said outloud.

"Thank you for the blessing... whoever you are I guess."

In his mind, he kinda hoped that he would get a response. Though as he expected, nothing happened which made him sigh helplessly.

He didn't mind it though as he immediately left the hotel and walked towards the center of the village where his mom is waiting for him.

Once he arrived there, it didn't even take him a minute to find his mom. Just looking at the crowd of players swarming around her that consisted of many male players, he was already sure she was in the center of them.

Just as expected, he saw Madelyne standing in the center and surrounded by players trying to talk to her. Of course they were turned down mercilessly as she didn't even spare them a glance.

Madelyne looked around and saw Calvin waving towards her with a smile while walking towards her.

She smiled as she said, "Zeke, you're here!"

Calvin had already talked to Madelyne about the issue of calling someone's real name in the game. That's why he told her that they should use their IGN when talking to each other and Madelyne agreed to it since it was only a small matter.

Calvin looked at her name tag that says Dely and said a bit embarrassed, "Dely! Sorry I was late cause something happened."

Madelyne said with a smile as she held Calvin's arm. "Its ok. Let's go?"

"Yup." Calvin smiled as they walked together with Calvin as the lead to the street where the class buildings are located.

Behind them are the players who were jealous of Calvin having a beauty like Madelyne holding his arm while smiling, looking like a couple.

For sure it will be a sight to see how they will react if they knew that the two are mother-son pair. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, they won't have the chance to know.
