Meeting the New First Years!

We boarded a plane this morning to head back to Japan. The plane ride there was mainly silent, I guess all of us were still tired from last night!

[The Next Day...]

"Alright everyone, we'll be doing something a bit different today." Mr. Aizawa told us as we stood in Gym Gamma.

"Today, you'll be helping out the First Years. They're a bit of a handful, much like how you guys were." Mr. Aizawa remarked.

In came the First Years, I wonder what their Quirks are?

The first years stood beside one us, "Okay, I've already told the first years who they'll be working with. We'll be doing this every Friday and Monday. Got it?"

"Yes sir, Mr. Aizawa!" We all shouted in unison.

Mr. Aizawa nodded and let us get to work. This was so cool! I get to train with someone else!?

"H-H-Hi, I'm S-Sota Hirose. Pleasure to meet you!" He introduced himself.

Sota was a dark-blue haired boy, about 5'1", and had light orange eyes. Sota bowed and stuck his arm out, was he asking me to shake his hand? I could tell the kid was nervous, he was shaking like a jackhammer!

"Are you alright?" I laughed a bit.

Sota shot up with twinkles in his eyes, "I can't believe I get to work with you I heard so much about you and everything you've done during your first year here at U.A. so I was really hoping that I could ask you about-"

The kid kept rattling on about how much of a fan he was of me.

"Sota, focus. You aren't here to talk." I heard Mr. Aizawa yell over to us.

"R-Right! Sorry, Mr. Aizawa!" He yelled back to him.

I shook my head and smiled.

"Good grief... So, let's get started." I stepped away from him and he just stood there.

"Uh... What are you doing, sir?" Sota asked me.

"What do you mean? We're training right? I want you to come at me with everything you've got!" I grinned.

Sota freaked out, "W-WHAT?! Aren't you going to ask me about my quirk?! What about doing something like the others are doing?"

Geez, Sota's attitude felt an awful lot like Mineta's!

"Well, I guess you've got a point there. So, what's your Quirk?" I asked him.

"W-Well, my Quirk is called 'Ink'. It's useful, I guess." Sota shrugged his shoulders.

Ink as a Quirk? How would that even work? He didn't look like a squid or an octopus to me.

"Alright, listen up. I want you to come at me with everything you've got! Don't worry about me, I'll hold back until I feel comfortable enough to use my full power!" I got into my fighting stance and activated my Quirk.

Sota looked a lot more relaxed now, "O-Okay! I'll do my best!"

Ink began to pour down his arms! The ink turned into a giant Squid! The squid slammed one of its tentacles down on the ground, I jumped out of the way to avoid the debris. This kid's Quirk was insane! I blasted off one of the tentacles but it just grew back! Right before a tentacle hit me, a shower of ink fell on me!

"S-Sorry! I guess I must've lost focus!" Sota apologized.

I could tell he's done that more than once, especially by his demeanor.

"Don't worry about it. I think that's what we'll work on for now on." I told him.

He stood straight and nodded, "Y-Yes sir!"

"Good grief... You don't have to call me 'Sir' you know? You can call me Alyx or Leonidus." I continued.

He nodded his head and we stood in front of each other.

"Okay, I want you to use your Quirk and hold it for as long as possible. Don't stress yourself though, go into a meditative state." I explained.

I never thought I'd be in a teacher role, but here we are! We sat cross legged with our eyes closed.

"Concentrate on your Quirk, take deep breaths in and out. Let your Quirk wash over you." I instructed him.

We sat there in silence as we continued our meditation.

"Alright everyone, time's up." Mr. Aizawa announced.

Sota and I got up from our meditation and headed back over to Mr. Aizawa.

"Okay, you all made some progress today. Good, keep it up. Class is dismissed for the day." Mr. Aizawa complimented.

I walked out of the gym with Kirishima, Momo, and Mina.

"Hey! Alyx!" I heard Sota shout.

I looked behind me and saw Sota and a couple of his friends.

"Oh, Sota! What's up?" I smiled.

"I just wanted to say thank you for helping me out today. I think I'm gonna keep training when I get back to the dorms!" Sota beamed with his hands in front of him.

"Good, always remember that you can improve no matter what!" I nodded while giving him a thumbs up.

Sota and his friends walked away, talking about the class today. Man, these kids are something else, they were about as excited as I was when it comes to training!

"So, someone told me that we're doing another big test sometime this week." Mina hinted.

"Really? What's it about?" I asked.

"I don't know! All I heard was that we were doing a test with Shiketsu and Ketsubutsu. I'm guessing it's like the hero license stuff?" Mina pondered.

Another big test? I wonder what for? Maybe it's like one of those exams we had to do last year!

[The Next Day...]

We got to class today, and instead of it being just Mr. Aizawa in there, it was Ms. Joke AND that teacher from Shiketsu.

"Alright, everyone. Today we'll be taking the Universal Hero Teamwork Exams. Or just the Hero Teamwork Exams for short. We'll be heading out to Ground Beta; We'll explain more there." Mr. Aizawa explained.

We put on our hero costumes and followed them outside to Ground Beta. All of Shiketsu and Ketsubutsu were there! Mr. Aizawa and the others stood in front of us which we all immediately quieted down.

"Alright folks! Today we'll be taking the Hero Teamwork exams! We'll be separating you into teams of three, you'll be partnered up with a student from each school. You'll be facing off against A.I. Dummies that are designed to match all of your strengths and then some! The tests will go for 20 minutes each, which means we'll be doing tests today, and throughout this week. The purpose of this Exam is to show off how well you'd work with your fellow heroes in training and your overall cooperativeness!" Ms. Joke explained.

"One more thing," Mr. Aizawa added, "In order to pass this test, you have to take out the A.I. Don't be afraid to let loose either."

The teams were already chosen so we didn't have to look around for people to work with. I was paired with Tomikoa and Yo Shindo! I was super excited!
