Chapter 12: Practice (2)

(Really busy so updates will be slow, doesn't mean I won't try though!! Enjoy the chapter!!!)

—————————————————————

Entering the dining room, we sat at the table while my mother and a maid helped set everything down.

"How is your practice going honey?" My mother decided to make some small talk.

"Good! I'm confident I can do it! I even made dad cry, though I feel a little bad about that." My face held a guilty smile.

"Don't feel guilty, I just enjoyed it so much it just got to me a little." My father chuckled, lightly scratching the side of his cheek.

My mother and Haruko finished setting up the table. We had some chicken thighs and rice. I did a little performance to practice my lines since the auditions were tomorrow.

By the time I finished, I found that I had a little audience. Goro and Chihiro were apparently watching and I hadn't noticed. Izumi actually got fired and went to jail after she tried to set the house on fire. I think I forgot to mention it, whoopsie! *tehee*

Izumi was actually trying to end my life. I knew she didn't like me. Calling me a demon and other cruel things you shouldn't say to a child. We didn't fire her because she never did anything and stayed completely away from me. I didn't expect her to go so far to end my life though.

The applause from my family and the employees pulled me from my thoughts.

"I'm going to go practice my lines once more in my room before bed. Good night." I walked up to my mother, pulling her into a hug and kissed her cheek.

I went over to my dad and did the same. I was disappointed that I didn't get to train my quirk, but all in good time I hope.

****

I stared up at my ceiling. The warm water against my skin. I ran my hands through my flowing white hair, untangling small knots.

My mind was all over the place. I was nervous but excited. I've practiced my lines for quite a while now and I know I got it down pat. I hope I do well enough that people will like me.

I waved those thoughts away. No point in stressing myself out. Pulling myself out of my bath, I walked over to the mirror and brushed my hair.

Looking at my reflection, I noticed my eyes looked as though they were glowing. The gold and pink specks in my deep purple eyes popped like a vibrant galaxy.

I made my way out of my bathroom and face planted into my bed. Opening my palm, I forced my ice quirk out and created a sort of icy mist. I named it Eternal Frost. It's is a really dangerous ice quirk created by yours truly.

I put more pressure into the ice mist, solidifying it. I morphed it into shapes like cubes or stars. I practiced loosening the pressure and reapplying it, making it switch between solid ice and mist. I created ice knives and twirled them between my fingers. I should test how this quirk works at some point.

I tried making the mist form around me and not just in my hands. Got to multitask somehow. It's super easy to control this quirk. Just a single thought and it appears, just a little push and it solidifies. I noticed that when I use my powers, my fox ears and tail have a blueish purple tint form at the tips.

Deciding that I had enough practice for the day, I pulled my blanket over my body and curled into a ball. I knew I couldn't sleep. Not tonight at least.

I groaned, kicking my blankets away and changed into my favorite outfit, pulling my hood over my head and ears. I opened my bedroom window and hopped outside. The cool breeze brushed against my soft skin. The sky was pretty tonight. You could see the stars very clearly this time.

I hopped over the gate and took a walk. I had no real destination. Without realizing, I stopped at the park where I first met Izuku. It was empty but gave quite a peaceful feel to it.

I sat myself onto a swing and gently pushed myself. Not to high, just a gently rocking. It was so calming and nice that I couldn't stop the words from flowing from my mouth. I softly sung "no tears left to cry" from Ariana Grande. Before I died, I loved her music. Sadly she doesn't exist in this world.

"Oh I just want you to come with me, we on another mentality."

"Ain't got no tears left to cry!" I sung.

Little did I know I had an audience. I suppose I will have a few more of those pretty soon. Once I finished the song I heard what sounded like footsteps approaching me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw what looked to be a little girl with blond hair.

"You sing really nice." A quiet voice spoke to me. Who I saw shocked me. It was Himiko Toga, the girl I saw at the mall a few days ago. However this time her face is stained with tears and she looks upset.

I got up off the swing and walked towards her, pulling down my hood so she could see my face. A flash of recognition reflected through her eyes.

I gave her my best smile. "Thank you, nice to meet you I'm Kasumi Snow." I stuck out my hand towards her.

She grasped my hand nervously. "Himiko Toga."

By the look on her face, I can tell that she got her quirk and her parents didn't take it to well. A look of concern grew onto my face.

"Are you okay Himiko?" She looked into my eyes and noticed my concern. Apparently that was enough for more tears to pour down her cheeks.

"N-no… I got my quirk and my parents said I have a evil quirk." I felt a pang in my chest. I already knew what quirk she had but I wanted to comfort her. If anything, I wanted to prevent her from becoming a villain in the future.

"What quirk do you have?" She looked even more sad when I asked. Turns out I was still holding her hand so I pulled her to me. Her body landed into my arms and I wrapped her into my embrace.

After a short period I felt her relax and lean into my arms a little more. Not that I minded.

"If I tell you my quirk, please don't be scared of me..I don't want people to hate me." Her voice cracked and she let out another sob. Who does such a thing to a 4 year old?

I caressed her hair, trying my best to be soothing. "I will not hate you, no matter what quirk you have."

"Promise?" She looked at me with tearful, pleading eyes.

"Absolutely!" I smiled softly.

"M-my quirk allows me to transform into people who I drank blood from. It makes me crave it.." she looks at me nervously but the only thing I have on my face is that gentle smile.

"Himiko let me tell you something. A quirk cannot be villainous, but a person can. Just because you have a quirk that has you crave and drink blood does not make you into a monster. You are not a monster and you do not have a villainous quirk. Actions decide whether or not a person is a Villain or a Hero and you, have done nothing wrong." I said firmly.

More tears spilled down her cheeks which I wiped away with my hands.

"If it makes you feel better, I have 3 quirks at the moment." She stared at me in shock which I responded with a grin.

The longer Himiko looked at me, the more the hungry look in her eyes grew. I knew what she wanted but she was to nervous to ask. She looked scared and that hurt my heart.

"Himiko if you have something you want to say, don't be afraid to say so."

"I-I… can I.." she stuttered.

I took this moment to tease her. A sinister grin which should never be seen on a 4 year old grew onto my face. Whoever saw this grin would have nightmares for a week.

"Can you..?" I chuckled seeing her struggle.

"Can I h-have some of your blood?" I nodded and held out my wrist.

"Don't worry about holding back, I have healing abilities so I can't die from blood loss."

She immediately took that as a go ahead and slowly bit into my wrist. It didn't hurt to bad so I could tolerate the pain. I'll be honest, it feels weird having someone suck your blood. I could tell she was being gentle.

She removed her teeth from my wrist and licked the blood off. The wound closed almost instantly. Still holding my wrist, Himiko stared at it in wonder.

"T-thank you." She finally smiled at me. I reached over and whipped the blood off her cheek with my thumb.

"Anytime! It's late so I think I'll be heading home, would you like to come with me?" I knew my parents wouldn't mind.

"If that's ok." She nodded.

****

We arrived back at my home and through the front gate. We made our way into the living room where my mother was. I glanced at the clock which said it was 12 am.

I walked into the room with Himiko trailing behind me nervously.

"Mommy, can I have a friend stay over? I found her at the park and it's super late."

My mother's gaze went from the tv over to me and then Himiko. She looked at Himiko a little longer and then smiled.

"Of course dear, I'll see you in the morning." She knew something was up but decided to save the questions for later.

"Thanks mommy!"

****

We entered my bedroom and I gave Himiko some clothes to change into. She went into the bathroom and I changed in my room.

She came out of the bathroom in my pjs and I must say, it was quite an interesting sight. She had a cute blush on her face, ears red and all. She slowly approached my bed. I don't think she has ever had a sleepover before.

I grabbed her hand and pulled her down towards the bed. She landed next to me and I pulled the blankets over the both of us.

"Goodnight Himiko!" I leaned forward and wrapped my arms around her in a hug.

"N-night Kasumi.." she mumbled.

(HELLO!! We will be seeing more of Himiko in the future!! Though not to often right now. Himiko will show up more when the hero arc starts. I want to give time to develop the characters more so that won't be for a while. This chapter was quite long. I had a lot of inspiration this time so I hope you're happy! I will be releasing the audition chapter soon so look forward to it!)
