The First Step in a Long Journey

As I walked down the street, I saw something that made me a little angry.

An old woman, she had dropped her shopping bags while walking along the side walk.

I wasn't angry at her, no.

I was angry at the people who just walked passed he and left her to try and pick it all up.

I quickly caught up with this woman and helped her.

"Here let me help you" I said as I started to pack things back into their respective bags.

The old woman looked at me with kind an warm eyes "Thank you young man, if I could be a little bit of a bother, would you help me take these to my car? it's just over there" she asks while pointing across the street at a car with a beautiful young woman sitting in the passenger side seat.

I nodded my head "Of course I'll help, my personal philosophy is that if you help someone, you help everyone" I said with a bright smile as we walked up to the crossing. (totally not stolen form spiderman on the PS4)

As we waited for the lights to turn green, we made some small conversation.

I told her my name (Allen Tep) and she told me hers (Andromeda).

We asked me about my self, I told her as much as I was feeling comfortable to tell her.

I as a young man of the age of 15, who was currently going for a position as an Intern at the Capricorn Science RnD center.

Capricorn was a mega corporation, who had specialize in everything from defence to medicine.

I was a big fan of their CEO, Max Capricorn, he had started the company as a small third party design studio in New York. He had started with a old computer and a art pad and made millions selling his tech designs to format party companies.

He was a true raggs to riches story and made me believe that if I tried, anything was possible.

Andromeda was a simple old woman, sh I liked to read, and unlike most olde people I knew, had a great memory.

We had had an extraordinary life, she ha traveled the world in her youth and learn multiple skills form masters in those arts.

Right now she was on vacation with her daughter, Emily. They were currently here in New York City to visit the sights, then they would be off to England.

But to by the time I was about to ask where they had been already, the walk light turned green.

As we started to walked across the crossing, I turned my head to the side.

I don't know why, but I just did, maybe it was because of the creeping feeling that something was going to happen.

But when I did.

I was met with the front side of a speeding truck.

Quickly, without thinking, I pushed the Andromeda out of the way of the truck.

But I didn't have enough time to save my self.

The pain was unbearable, I tried to scream by nothing was working, I think... I had died?!

The inky blackness of the void surrounded me.

There was still pain, but it was different.

It was like a stinging sensation, almost like the void was trying to eat me alive.

I started to panic and struggle, but that only made the void hungrier.

The pain increased, and with it, so did my struggling.

I knew that if I calmed down the pain would lessen, but for some reason my bodybwouldnt allow me to be calm.

My heart was racing and my body was acting on its own.

As t(pain went on, I slowly became numb to it.

I was tortuous.

The pain.

The never-ending.

Never lessening.

Never leaving.

Pain.

But this when it happened.

When they appeared before me.

Andromeda and her daughter, Emily.

I couldnt make sense of the situation, but that didn't matter.

I just wanted this pain to stop, even if I was numb to it, I didn't want to feel this slight stinging sensation anymore, it made it impossible for me to think straight.

"Please... Help... Me" I struggled to say.

but without saying a word, the old woman snapped her fingers and the pain stopped.

My body regained feeling and as I slowly floated down on to the 'ground', Andromeda Clicked her figures again and I was dragged toward her by... Something.

I tried to stand up once the dragging stopped, but my body would respond, even if my body had feeling again, something must have happened.

"Th-thank You... Andromeda... *sigh*" I said, letting out a sigh of relief.

"You saved me young man, I am forever in you dept"

"No... I... I only wanted to do the right thing..."

"And it is because of that, that you had saved my Mothers life... Please, let us both reward you"

"..." I stayed silent, and with all my remaining strength, I stood up.

I would struggle to keep standing, but I managed it... Somehow.

"How... How would you reward me?" I asked

"With two wishes, you see, we are not human, and as you have probably guessed, you are dead. We are ancient spirits, and we can, as is our right, help a human who has shown us a great kindness" she explained

"Yeah... I figured you weren't human, and that I was dead... But getting wishes... I honestly not know what to ask for" I admitted to the two.

"Ask for anything, you have earned the right to be selfish, think of your interests, think of what you truly want" said Andromeda's daughter Emily.

With those words, my minded turned to my interests.

And more manga.

I didn't have many interests, but if I could have anything...

"I want a system, one that allows me to travel anime worlds, and let's me level up and get skills"

Emily started to laugh "... You are a weird one, aren't you human?"

"I guess so" I said chuckling a little

"Now, for your last wish?" Andromeda asked.

"...Yeah, I want a special skill, something like Great Sgae from That Time I was Reincarnated as a Slime" I said, thinking about how useful that skill would be.

Andromeda nodded "That is possible, but I must give you a warning"

"What warning?"

"My power is used to push your soul through the walls between Dimensions, the system has an unlimited form of energy that can copy it's effect, but when my power pushes you, it will seep into you, giving you great strength and power, some Ancient Spirits... They will want this power for themselves, so no matter the circumstances, you will only have three years in any world, or else te6 will find you and you will have do battle with an ancient spirit"

Listening to her warning, I started to think about all the trouble that this new power of mine will bring more trouble than help, but after a moment of through, I shook my head 'I can not think this way, Andromeda gave me this power to thank me, I must respect it' I thought as I looked up at them both.

"Thank you for the warning, but I will be fine, with this new power of mine, I will get strong enough to protect my life, now... Andromeda if you will do the honours, please send me off" with that, Andromeda once again clicked her fingers.

This time, I was pushed back like a rocket going through space.

I could feel something seep into me, similar to how t(e cold was sleeping into me, it must have been the power that Andromeda spoke of.

Soon, I was just floating in space, devoid of light and anything that could be called anything.

But then...
