Pirate Movie

Anne didn't know that she has almost been selected for the role. She got out of the audition building and easily spotted Richard's black Ford standing on one side of the road. She went to it, opened the side door and entered the car.

"How did the audition go?" asked Richard.

"It was good, but I don't if I will be selected." replied Anne, "To be honest, my all auditions went well, but it seems the director and producers doesn't want to use a face which has appeared in child movies."

The last words were sarcastic. Considering all the auditions she has been doing for whole two months, she gets rejected every time with ridiculous excuses like they don't want to cast a child actor in an adult role. Its already the end of July, and only one month of summer vacations are left. After it, she will have less time for the auditions.

Richard comforted: "Don't worry, I will look into this matter."

Anne nodded. The sadness she feels now is not as strong as it was in the beginning. She has started to learn to come to terms with reality. She looked at Richard: "What do we have more to audition for? Because I have auditioned for almost all the roles we selected at the beginning."

Richard replied: "There are not many good scripts left. After it, I think we should start with Disney projects or even the horror genre." Seeing the ugly expressions on his client's face, he hurriedly changed the topic, "If you don't want to work in teen roles of children movies, then there is one more project. Although it also belongs to Disney, but the role is not so childish."

Anne signaled Richard to continue speaking: "Disney has started a new movie, it's a pirate story, and is a big blockbuster. We don't know anything about it. But in my opinion, Anne, that might not be a very good movie. You know, after 9/11, what Americans want to see is a drama about superheroes saving the world, not ridiculous pirate legends."

The whole hollywood knows that Disney wants to revive the glory of pirates. For this purpose, they even equipped the famous gold medal producer Jerry Bruckheimer this. For the lead actor, they have started considering many big names like Jim Carrey, Michael Keaton, Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp. They all are under consideration.

But the hollywood is not very optimistic about this. Everyone knows that Disney's real purpose is to promote the pirate theme park, while the movie is just a gamble. Therefore, no big names have tried to attach themselves to the movie yet. Famous actresses like Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman, Kate Winslet, etc don't want to take a risk.

Anne secretly glanced at Richard. Of course, Richard's opinion was correct. Before the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series became popular all over the world, everyone had the same attitude towards this movie. They were not optimistic about this pirate movie's development prospects. But she knows the huge benefits it will bring to its actors, so how can she let such a big chance go. She decided:

"I will audition for the movie."

Richard was surprised, and then nodded. Although its a gamble, but what project in this industry is not a gamble. Before a movie is released, no one can tell whether a movie will be successful or not. Anyway, these things are for later to worry about. There is no gurantee that Anne will be selected to play the female lead. "Okay, then I will negotiate with Disney and arrange an audition for you. But our first priority will be to get you selected without an audition."

Anne nodded: "So, what's next. Am I free for the day?"

Richard denied: "No, there is one more things to deal with first, then you are free. We have to select an assistant and a driver for you."

"Assistant is okay, but why do I need a driver. I don't even have a car."

Richard corrected his client's last line: "Only for now, but you have to buy one soon. You are sixteen now and your work load will increase in future. In future, neither me and nor your aunt will be with you on your sets as your guardians. You must have your assistant, your car and a driver."

According the child actor protection associations, before an actor turns sixteen, he must always have his guardian or a caretaker with him on the set. Therefore, either he or Anne's aunt Stella have always stayed on sets with Anne whenever she was working. But that clause doesn't apply to Anne anymore, she is sixteen and is not under child actor protection laws anymore.

In hollywood, small incidents happen everyday on the various filming sets, especially with actress. Therefore, actors will always have an assistant with them to deal with these matters like testing the food, water, costumes and makeup. Some big actors even have more than one assistants with them while they are filming. Anne is not a child anymore, and the child protection card she had has been lost now. So, there will be many times in future where she will need to have an assistant with her.

Anne agreed: "Okay, then you can find someone trustworthy on this matter."

She doesn't know much about these things, so its better to let a professional like Richard deal with them.

After dealing with her agent, when Anne returned home, it was already 7 pm in the evening. As she entered the house, she found Stella and Mateo in the living room. They were watching TV.

Stella saw Anne coming and greeted: "How was your day?"

Anne kissed Mateo on the cheek despite his resistance, and replied: "The audition went good as always, but I don't know if I will be selected."

Stella smiled: "Don't worry. You are trying, and that's what matters. And I believe you will get your chance soon. Now tell me, have you eaten the dinner?"

"Not yet."

"Then wash your hands and come to the dining table. We made pasta today. Its fresh and tasty, isn't Mateo?"

Mateo heard the question and replied in his milky voice: "Very taste. I want some more."

There was a sudden burst of laughter and Anne kissed the cheeks of the little guy. Her brother is really the cutest.
