CHAPTER 3 - Strongly committed

Both of their fights were ‌going on. Z-9 was attacking him with his axe, and Vargas was dodging those attacks. He also creates a shield and sword. With the shield, he was saving himself from the damage and, with the sword, he was attacking him. They were exchanging their moves continuously.

Ryu and Zeus didn't know what to do at this moment, but they could tell this man Vargas was helping them. But they have no choice but to rely on him.

Vargas suddenly creates many ice spikes and continuously shoots ice spikes at Z-9. Z-9 was deflecting those spikes with his axe. Z-9 suddenly threw his axe at Vargas like a boomerang. Vargas quickly dodges the axe, but he does not know that the ax, still coming toward him from his backside. Because of Zeus's shout, he could dodge the ax at the last moment. These moves surprised him.

Like this, Z-9 was throwing his axe at Vargas again and again. The blade was acting like a boomerang, and always quickly coming back at him. Vargas didn't even get any chance to attack him, but this time when Z-9 threw the ax toward him, this time he didn't dodge the axe. He deflected the axe with his shield and because of this, the ax this time didn't go back towards the Z-9.

But suddenly Vargas saw that Z-9 vanished from his place. He was just about to search for him when suddenly someone grabbed his head strongly.

"Haha‌.... You fool, you shouldn't let your guard down," Z-9 said while laughing like a maniac.

Ryu and Zeus both shouted, "Nooo!!!!". Fear of death began to appear in their faces.

Z-9 smashed him to the floor with full force. He thought he would surely kill Vargas with this move, but he saw the body that he smashed sometime ago was suddenly turned into ice. Vargas suddenly appeared from his back and tried to stab him with his ice blade. But Z-9, with his quick response, turned around and grabbed the sword. Instantly, he punches Vargas. Vargas hit the wall with force. But after some time, Vargas came out of the hole and formed many ice spikes.

Because of all the noise coming out from the training hall, all the villagers were now awake from their sleep. They all come out of their house and approach the training hall quickly.

Z-9 was powerful, but Vargas was also powerful. He knew he can't defeat Vargas without injuring himself and if he gets injured, then he cannot steal the Zircon. So Z-9 wanted to kill Ryu, who was guarding the Zircon. He deflects those ice spikes and rushes backward towards Ryu to kill him and steal the Zircon.

If you saw Vargas's face, then you can see a smile on his face. It seems he was enjoying the battle with Z-9. After so many years later, he got an enemy that he can't detect in one move. But when he saw Z-9 who was going toward Ryu to kill him, his face turned serious. He can't tolerate it. He instantly activated his mantra and instantly many ice particles came toward him. This was time to become serious.

When Vargas activates his mantra, a powerful aura comes out of his body. Z-9 instantly feels that this powerful aura is trying to surpass him. Feeling his aura, Z-9 roared, and also instantly he activated his mantra. You can see his body getting a coating like stone and his claws also getting bigger.

From Vargas' body, a white aura comes out, and from Z-9's body a brown aura comes out, but normal people won't be able to see this aura.

Ryu and Zeus were under tremendous pressure. They were feeling their body get crushed by their aura.

"Do you know why they called me Ice hunter?" Vargas said, and he instantly ran towards Z-9.

Vargas didn't give Z-9 time to activate his mantra fully and threw a white beam toward Z-9. Z-9's half body instantly turned into ice and he cannot activate his mantra. His lower half got frozen. Vargas didn't let this chance go. He instantly goes toward him and pierces his heart with his ice blade. Normal ice did not make this ice. He made this blade with dark ice and, because of this, he successfully pierced through Z-9 skin and hurt him. Z-9's body instantly became an ice sculpture and turned into many ice pieces. 

Ryu and Zeus felt they were finally safe from the creature, but they saw something that took them back into despair.

After finishing Z-9, Verglas was going to take Zircon.

"Now, I can take the Zircon and leave as soon as possible. I never thought that I could get this stone here," Vargas said. He stepped towards the tower.

"No, you can't have it. You will never get it. As long as I live," Ryu said to Vargas.

Ryu was badly injured because of the fight. He seems so very weak that he can't keep his eyes open for long.

Zeus seems to be furious. He broke his leg previously, so he can't do anything, he can only see his friends struggle, which made him more furious.

"Yes, you saved us from this tragedy, but it's not like we're gonna let you take the Zircon from here. We are the protector of Zircon and we will keep protecting it until our very last breath," Zeus said.

Vargas laughed as loud as he could. It was so terrifying. Vargas could kill them instantly, but this didn't make them back down. 

"Look, kids, I don't want more bloodshed, nor do I kill children. So stay down there and take some rest and let me do my job. Don't make me change my mind, please," Vargas said to them.

"I won't let you," Ryu said.

"Neither am I," Zeus said.
