Chapter 45: Wohs Fo Rewop

Sora stared at the glaring older boy standing across from him with cold eyes.

'It's always the weak ones that have the most sensitive egos.' He thought as he observed him.

While previous watching the spar that was ongoing before his interruption, he had made a few observations.

One of those observations was how Taiju was stronger then June. It may not have seemed obvious to those who were watching but when it came to power and explosive nature and use of that power, Taiju comes out on top.

June on the other hand used her natural flexibility and intellect to her match him. She may not be as talented as Taiju but her more than clever use of techniques and agility made up for it.

When looking at the statistics, any normal scout would pick Taiju as his talent was far above June's.

Sora however disagreed.

He would much rather have someone smart and less talented than a talented idiot. Skills can be trained and nutured but the mind is something else on its own.

A talented mind was far more valuable than a talented body in his opinion.

Of course, he was planning on calling both of them to speak to them individually. He had intentionally made his intention of looking for strong people heard so that when he chose to speak to June, he would see Taiju's reaction to it.

As expected, he had failed his expectations.

The constant praises from his fellow peers and their mentors had gotten to him, leading to his current pride.

Had he remained calm, collected and patient, he would have been guaranteed an important place in Sora's plan for the sanctuary.

While he would admit that he manipulated the situation a bit, the older boy's reaction was a bit too exaggerated.

•••••••••••••••••

"You may disagree with me on this but you're more suited to the shinobi life than any other lifestyle. Your lack of hesitation to do what you see necessary and your cunning mind…"

"Perhaps that is why this power chose you."

•••••••••••••••••

He recalled the words he read as a sudden thought came to mind.

'Did you predict this situation too?' Sora thought solemnly as he disappeared from his position, appearing in front of Taiju with his fist already crashing into the older boy.

Though he didn't use his full strength, the power in that punch was able to send the older boy flying back more than a few feet.

He landed in the area where he and June had previously sparred. Before he could get to his feet, Sora appeared in front of him with a condescending look in his eyes.

"Get up." He said simply but to Taiju it held a tone of superiority and mocking to it.

Immediately, his body pushed off the ground, raising his muscled fist towards Sora's face with a furious look on his face.

His attempt to deliver an uppercut proved to be an utter failure as Sora's smaller hand caught his fist with an open palm.

The indifferent look on Sora's face showed how little effort he was putting into the fight despite how much power he was displaying.

Had this fight happened a day ago, he would have had to put a lot more effort into it but a gift from his predecessor had proved to be very valuable.

~~~~~~~[Some Time Ago]~~~~~~~
Sora had just finished reading the chronicle when he saw a note attached to the last page.
'A little gift that will take you a long way. Reach into the last page.' He read as he flipped to the final page of the book, seeing an empty page.
'It wouldn't hurt to try.' He thought with a skeptical look as he stretched his hand towards the book.
His hand sunk into the book as soon as he touched it, his hand sinking to the middle of his forearm.
His eyes widened as he slowly pulled his hand out. As his hand came out, an object was in his grasp.
Analyzing it, he was shocked at what it was. A vial not unlike the ones he used for alchemy.
[Object: Essence of Evolution]
[A vial containing a magical substance that will cause whoever ingests it to forcefully undergo a never ending evolution.]
He looked on in amazement as the vial held the glowing purple liquid.
Ever ending meaning that his evolution wouldn't stop. He would continue evolving as time went on.
Without hesitation, he downed the vial in one gulp. Upon being emptied, the vial dissipated into white light.
'Ho-' His thought was interrupted as he gripped his chest in pain.
"Aaahh-" He let out a low scream as his body flared in pain.
It felt like he was being pierced by a thousand needles as his skin began to slowly form cracks. As the seconds passed, the cracks spread quickly across his entire body.
*Crack!* *Crack!* *Crack!*
He grit his teeth as he tried to bear the pain but he refused to fall. The biggest crack at the back of his hand shattered as a blue light shone from underneath the crack.
The remaining cracks followed suite as they also shattered, bathing the entire room in a bright blue light.
*Shatter!*
As the light died down, Sora was left just barely standing in the room. He felt sore on every part of his body as he stood straight to his full height.
Drinking a healing potion he had stored in his inventory, he felt the soreness disappear. He looked around himself, the room looking the exact same way before it happened, no sign of cracked skin on the floor.
The chronicle still floated above the pedestal.
As he made to grab it, he immediately felt the change in his body. His body held more physical power than before. About three times more.
The growth in his chakra was even more shocking. It had grown over four times its original size.
'Due to my reincarnation I always had high spiritual energy. With my physical energy massively increased, my chakra levels shot far higher.' He theorized as he inspected the changes.
His physical energy was always playing catch up with his spiritual energy, though it was still doing that, he was something good from it.
He gripped the book as he reached into the same page once again. When he pulled out the vial, he had felt something else also inside.
A second later, he pulled out a sword. A very familiar sword that he recognized the moment he laid eyes on it.
Kusanagi no Tsurugi. In other words the grass cutting blade a.k.a. the blade Sasuke wielded for a very long time in his life.
Upon unsheathing the guardless blade, it let out a low hum that he easily felt. It felt like a bond was formed between him and the blade in his hand.
With a thought, he dropped it into his inventory and went on to raid the shelves for books, dropping them in his inventory.
By the time he was done, there shelves were barren of what then once held.
Satisfied for now, he spread his senses beyond the room, picking up Zatanna's signature along with the old man.
'Time to rejoin the tour.' He thought as he exited the room.
~~~~~~~[Present]~~~~~~~

Sora's indifference enraged Taiju but he was helpless as the young boy's heel smashed into his head, sending him away.

His body was covered in red energy as he managed to land in a crouch. He shot his palm forward as a short beam of red energy shot forward to Sora.

A sword appeared in Sora's waiting hand as he swung, cutting through it like a hot knife through butter.

Taiju didn't stop as he continued firing but Sora didn't stop either, effortlessly cutting through the beams.

After almost a full minute of this, Taiju seemed to get frustrated as his entire body was covered in the same red energy as he shot off towards Sora.

His leg shot forward only to hit nothing as the boy was no longer there. He felt something cut into his back despite his red aura.

"AAACKK-" He wasn't able to continue screaming as Sora punched the back of his head, sending him face down to the ground.

"Is this all? You're pretty weak despite how confident you were. I would end it at this but I prefer not to have liabilities." Sora said as the boy's eyes widened at the implication.

"The only thing is…I'm not the one who'll do it. Zatanna." He called out as the girl in question floated forward.

He resisted the urge to raise a brow at that.

He held the grip of the sword towards her as he slowly accepted it.

"Though you've chosen to be by my side, you have yet to properly begin. Up until now it has been training but this will serve as your first act as my right hand. Kill him." He said, finishing his small speech as she held the blade firmly.

Taiju's form was raised as he got up to his knees, blood pouring from his forehead as he spat out blood.

"You wouldn't dare." He spat out but that was the wrong thing to say as Zatanna mercilessly slashed the sword, his face frozen in utter shock as his head slid off his neck.

Sora nodded as Zatanna swung the sword to the side as the blood flew off the surface of the blade before handing it over to him.

Like he had once said, children are impressionable. His teachings from how to inflict shallow injuries on opponents and how best to end a fight by quickly killing the opponent was very effective in shaping her mindset.

It was inevitable that she would end up this way. He would rather her have her first kill in a controlled environment than have her killed due to hesitation.

His mind travelled to a useless pink haired girl who allowed war to continue due to her foolish hesitation.

He shook his head of those thoughts as he sheathed his sword.

"Congratulations." He said simply as a small smile broke out on his otherwise indifferent face, causing her to reciprocate it.

Sora turned to June who stiffened under his gaze.

"Come. We have much to discuss." She said as Sora walked out of the field with Zatanna floating behind him.
