Olivia answered, “Yes you can, and bananas and strawberries and blueberries.” Jason could tell she had just become one of Kitty’s favorite people.
“Chocolate chips, please. Maybe I can have fruit next time.”
Jason, having already made the coffee, offered Olivia a cup.
“You must be Jason. You are all Zach talks about and Miss Pancakes here must be Kitty. Zach had half of the churches in Asbury Park praying for you. That fancy contraption belongs to you. You’ll have to teach me to use it or you’ll be making your own coffee.”
Jason laughed—he already liked the tall thin black woman. He remembered seeing her name on the list of wedding guests, Olivia Johnson and guest.
Jason turned and greeted Zach with a kiss. “Coffee or espresso?”
“I’ll take coffee.” Zach was in his robe. Edith came down fifteen minutes later, fully dressed.
“Edith, do you want coffee, espresso, or cappuccino?”
“I’m feeling adventurous this morning. I’ll take the cappuccino with a sugar cube please.”
