The Hand (2)
"Where are we?" Kai repeated the question in a silly manner. She took hold of my red cheeks and gently rubbed them.
"Did I hurt you just now?" She asked in a concerned manner. "Where do you think we are?"
I thought of her question. I could still remember the surroundings that we were in. But the memory seemed distant. It felt like ages had passed.
"If I'm correct, we are deep underground under the Mara's residence." She nodded her head and looked a little relieved. "Did we travel back in time?"
"..."
Her face that had a blooming smile stopped and her gaze turned a little subtle. I couldn't tell what she was thinking at all. She raised her fair hand and gave me a knock on the head.
Aawww! I cried in pain while I tried to get away from her to no avail.
"Stop joking around. We are still in the enemy's backyard, and these people are adept in the arts of poisoning. Let's deal with them first before talking about your wild fantasies."
