WTH

A floating screen entitled "Main Objective" hovered before Jiro's as his mind recovered from a weird stupor.

"....? What the...?"

His hand reached out to no avail as it seemed likely that the projection is intangible. He decided to read the details on the panel.

[Survive until the rescue ship arrives.

Reward: Traverser Seal

Penalty: Permanent Account Ban]

".....?"

'What does that even mean?'

He thought for a moment before dismissing it to the back of his mind. He willed for the panel to disappear and it did, he then willed for it to reappear and it did just as he expected. It behaved similarly to those systems he read about in his free time.

'Well... Status.'

'Bruhh... No skills? Not even watching, sleeping or eating? This is brutal. Hmmm Inventory.'

'Great! Empty and unavailable.'

Jiro read everything a few times over and tried more things in order to get a bearing of whatever it is that is happening to him.

Aside from the panel that showed him his objective and status, he discovered that he currently had no access to his inventory panel during the 'testing phase'.

His mind focused more on this phrase because it signified a great meaning for him. Looking at himself and his surroundings only grew to confirm his suspicion.

'I'm wearing clothes similar to those from the 1800s in Europe. Looking at the scenery from the small window it looks like I'm currently on a ship as a passenger. The main objective is to survive... Survive at sea...'

"What a treat. It means that this fucking ship is about to sink."

He stood up from where he sat and got out of the room. He roamed around and found the ship to be pretty new just basing on the state of the facilities he observed not to mention the faint smell of paint and varnish in the air.

As he stepped out into the hallway area of his quarters, a sense of awe enveloped him. The grandeur of this ship was beyond anything he had ever expected. The ornate woodwork, lavish furnishings, and the melodic tunes wafting from the distant grand piano created an atmosphere of unparalleled luxury.

Standing amidst the chatter of the passengers who passed him by, Jiro marveled at the sheer scale of the ship's interior. The high ceilings, adorned with intricate designs, soared above him, and the soft glow of the electric lights added an ethereal ambiance to the surroundings.

In the common area, he found a sense of community among the diverse group of passengers - families excitedly discussing their upcoming voyage, couples leisurely sipping tea, and children giggling as they played games.

As he leisurely strolled through the space, he couldn't help but appreciate the attention to detail in every aspect of the decor. Something that the future generations did not seem to appreciate. The fine craftsmanship of the furniture, the gentle hum of conversation, and the occasional clinking of glasses painted a picture of serene elegance.

'Sigh... Too bad it's about to sink.'

"Kind sir, do you mind telling me the name of this magnificent vessel?"

Jiro politely asked a passing crew imitating the manner of speech he observed from other passengers. The man stopped for a bit before his companion took him by the arm gesturing for him something akin to 'we don't have time for this' or something similar.

"It's the Titanic mate. Well... Pardon us. Enjoy your stay!"

The crew answered with an apologetic smile before he was pulled away by his companion and both of them disappeared into the crowd.

'What the hell? Fucking Titanic!? So this is why this all looked familiar.'

He instinctively looked at his empty wrist where his watch used to be only to sigh after remembering that there was nothing there when he appeared here.

"Excuse me."

The redhead looked over in askance wondering why a stranger called out to her.

"Would you please tell me what date it is?"

Jiro awkwardly smiled as he asked while scratching the back of his head.

"Are you serious?" She asked in wonder.

"I was dead drunk until I found myself in my cabin." Jiro grinned embarrassed while the redhead nodded in understanding.

Today is the Titanic's maiden voyage. April 10, 1912. Are you seriously unaware?"

He shrugged and smiled with a silly expression which earned him a laugh as the middle aged man patted his shoulder while shaking his head as he probably reminisced of a similar experience.

'If I'm historicaly accurate, I'm quite sure that the Titanic sunk on the 15th after it hit the iceberg on the night of the 14th so that means that I was at least given some time to prepare.'

Jiro thanked the lady before blending into the currently crowded corridor of the common area. As it is lunchtime everyone seemed to be on a rush to get their well deserved break unaware of an otherwolder fiddling with their pockets in an attempt to experiment.

[You have successfully stolen ten items on a person without being discovered. The 'Pickpocket' skill is now registered in your skill panel.]

Jiro received the message after stealing something on a person for the tenth time. But this only confirmed some of his theories while bringing out more questions.

'Does it apply to every skill though? Right now, I think that I could re-create the skills I had in my home world by applying it here in order to register them as skill. But is there a limit to the number of skills? There are simply too little data and too much extraneous variables for me to determine a definite conclusion with certainty. I need more data.'

Jiro's plan is simple. If he could, which is very unlikely to happen, he wanted to finish the objective by preventing the accident from ever occurring. This is unlikely to happen simply because the main objective states that he had to survive until rescue arrived.

This alone should mean that the sinking of the ship is more inevitable than Thanos himself. But this isn't his primary concern at the moment. Since he was given time it would be a shame not to fiddle with what he can achieve and find out in that span of time.
