[ 1st Person POV ]
Am I in heaven? No. Impossible. There is no such thing as heaven...right? So, where exactly am I? I tried to move my head, my neck aching like days of exercise.
Then, I realized something. I'm lying on something soft and warm... a bed? No-no. I breathed deeply and smelled some sort of sweet cinnamon apple scent. It was strangely addictive and welcoming.
Something held the right side of my face. A warm thing. A hand? Then...I'm lying on..A PERSON?! Bewildered, I immediately forced open my eyes. The sight that greeted me was one that would forever be imprinted in my memory.
Her face. Smooth and slender contours that made her look so delicate. Her eyelashes long and beautiful, her golden brown hair in soft waves. Her lips, pink and moist, were slightly opened. I felt an overwhelming urge to touch her face, to see if she is really there.
She is sleeping.
The sudden thought crashed into my mind. She is sleeping...and I'm lying on her lap! My mind tried to wrap around the idea that I'm lying on this captivating girl's lap. Wait shouldn't I be happy that I'm still alive?..and also on the girl's lap. Ughhh! I was stuck in this awkward position AND alive. Whatever.
I shook my head slightly and gazed upon her angelic face again. Astounded by her sheer beauty. Those eyes, so rich and filled with golden flakes. Wait. Her eyes are opened! I held my breath as we stared at each other in silence. Then she spoked.
Her voice dampened with sweet honey and tinkling as if a melody. "Are you okay? " she questioned, her eyes filled with curiosity and her head tilting slightly in question. I was so overwhelmed by her presence that I couldn't understand what she just said but when she started frowning, I snapped back into my consciousness.
"Y-yes." I stuttered, my face turning slightly red as she patiently waited for me to answer her. She simply nodded and gestured for me to get up. As reality struck me that I was STILL lying on her incredibly soft lap (no I'm not a pervert) I immediately scrambled to stand up.
The moment I stood up, dizziness stuck me and the world rapidly spinned. Just when I was feeling myself slowly falling backwards, two soft hands grabbed my head and forced me to look down. Her face came into my view and her eyes stared into mine intensely.
The moment I looked at her, everything started slowing down, the painful pounding in my head had gradually stopped too. I blinked once. Then twice.
She looks so familiar. But I can't seem to remember anything!
With doubts and questions clouding my mind, I decided to first get my bearings. As I concentrated on my surroundings, sounds of nature flooded my ears. The high-pitched chirping of birds, the rustling of the leaves as the wind blew pass them.
I widened my eyes, affected by the serenity and trying to take in the breath-taking image of what I am looking at. Everything was dream-like, floating on a cloud of peace. We were in a beautiful forest. Its grass, a vibrant green and emanating a fresh earthy fragrance.
Flowers accompanied by butterflies dotted the field, adding beautiful colors to the green pasture. The trees stood a little distance away, tall and proud with his fellow brothers.
The sky is a bright cyan blue, swirling white clouds gravitated around in a lazy saunter. The sun's rays basking them in a warm and comfortable presence. However, a flash of panic shot through me.
Where is this?! Am I in another country? How did I get here? On the verge of a full-blown emotional outburst, I could barely mask my expressions before facing her. My grey eyes staring intensely in her very own molten-gold ones.
"Where is this place and who are you?" I asked, my fingers clenched tightly in an effort to rein in my emotions.
Her eyes widened for a fraction of a second, before it dimmed in disappointment. A soft sigh escaped past her lips as she turned away from me.
At that soft sound, the day's memories crashed into my head like a tidal wave. I gritted my teeth at the assault but a loud growl tore through my mouth as the pain intensified. My hands gripped my pounding head desperate for the pain to end.
Then, I felt cooling soft fingers grasping my hands, and a light caressing melody sounded around me.
The stubborn headache began to go away slowly, like a scolded child regretfully leaving his favorite toy behind. My eyes instinctively closed to appreciate the soulful tune.
"...Find..me..." her soft voice whispered in my ear.
The wind blew from behind and her voice faded. Softer and softer. Until I could no longer hear her.
"W-wait!" I gasped.
I tentatively looked up, searching for her. For the source of the soft melody. For her. But she was nowhere to be found. There was no one with me.
I frowned in confusion as I looked around searching. Searching for someone that doesn't exist because there is only me standing here. Alone in this field. 'What just happened? Where did she go? Why am I looking for her?'
Well first things first. Where the heck am I? The surroundings feel different...and strangely out of place. Although from a glance, it looks like some countryside somewhere on Earth but if you look closely enough, this place is definitely not normal. I am in an unknown place with nothing but my backpack.
What should I do now?
