Finding Her

[ Damon's POV - RECAP]

There was never a time where his body could not revert to its original state, void of injuries and perfectly healthy. He could not believe what he was seeing right now. Hesitantly, he pressed against his bruises and they hurt. They were real.

Plagued with confusion, the man tried to recall what had brought upon this situation. Hours passed and he could not come up with anything.

He frowned worriedly.

It was truly a mind-boggling predicament. He couldn't understand why his body became this way. The day had been peaceful and normal as usual. Nothing out of the ordinary had happen. However, the moment he left the gym, he had felt it. Something was going to happen. But he could not have guessed it would be something like this. He thought it would be another incident that would require him to use his flames. That was why he had summoned them out while on his way home.

Then, he met the girl, and he felt something strange.

She was like an unknown entity. A puzzle he could not solve. Trying to figure her out is like listening to a foreign language. As her molten-gold eyes flashed in his mind, he widened his eyes and his back straightened instinctively.

'C-could it be...?' Damon thought in a daze.

Something urged him to find her. To seek this girl. He wanted to see her again. No. He have to meet her. He must. A sudden urgency gripped him and like a vice it refused to let go.

He strongly felt that she is the key to his predicament and....that scream. Damon shivered. The scream that was filled with pain. What he heard, it was as if the one who screamed was just right beside him.

'Find her...' a voice at the back of his mind whispered to him. 'But..how?' He frowned. He had only met her once. He did not know where she is and how to find her. Even the place he met her, it was a common road. Where should he start searching for her?

This is crazy. He may have flames at his disposal and the power to hurt mortals but to search for a stranger with almost no clues of her whereabouts and identity?

It seems like an impossible task but while his mind was reasoning with him, his body had already moved on its own accord. His jacket worn and his valuables in his pocket, he was more then ready to start on his impossible search.

After a slight hesitation, he grabbed his backpack as well before heading out into the freezing cold air. As he walked briskly down the stairs, his breath caused puffs of air to materialize in front of him. It truly was cold this night.

He looked around while heading towards the place he last met her. The neighborhood was rather quiet. More so then usual. Most of the time, there would be at least a few houses still lighted up and several residents taking a night stroll or loudly chatting the night away with friends on their Dphone.

Tonight though, there were none. No night strollers, no lighted houses, no noise at all. It was as if time had froze. But the slight breeze caressing his face jolted him to his senses. There is no such thing as freezing time. Or so he hoped.

As he neared the place, his breathing became erratic. He didn't know what to expect. With another sigh, he quickened his pace, his sneakers slapping against the hard granite. Then, he heard it.

A growling noise.

His head swerved left and right rapidly, trying to locate the growling. It was getting nearer...and nearer. As if just beside him. Sweat dripped from his forehead as he groaned.

What is this...fear?

The growling noise penetrated his body and left him trembling. His hands were clenched tight but still shaking uncontrollably. There was this menacing aura crushing on him, and it was pressing on him heavily. Even standing was getting harder and harder every second.

Then, the oppressive aura was gone. Just like that. Even the growling had stopped. The sudden weight pressing on the man had disappeared as well. He felt beyond bewildered.

'What in the world was tha-'

His thoughts were cut off as he fell down. Literally. Not onto the hard granite floor. But into an empty space. A sudden chill crawled up his spine as his hair whipped crazily in response to the sudden drop of gravity. Air rushed upwards and he fell downwards, his arms failing around in an attempt to grab onto any form of support, but there was none.

As he dipped his head to look down, his eyes widened to the sight below him. He was falling. Right into the middle of an occurring typhoon.

There was no time to even think about how atrocious the situation is as he inched closer and closer towards the horrifying disaster. Clouds of dark dust swirled around him, making him cough heavily.

His eyes began to water, and the vision in front of him blurred. He let out a final gasp of air as the typhoon swallowed him whole.

And into the darkness he goes.

He goes.
