With great introductions, Kale and Mia Callister entered the arena. Kale has piqued much interest, as he was the first commoner selected by our nation. His looks aren't bad either, even if it wasn't as good as mine. I can see many young ladies eying him. Talent is appreciated everywhere, of course..... I take that back. Deathly glares from those jealous young men are so scary.

While Kale appeared in his usual adventure outfit, Mia appeared in one of that expensive fighting outfits that seemed to be tailored just for her. And with the long wand she was equipped with, she gave a strong vibe of a proper mage. She looks beautiful, too.

I tried hard not to let out a single sound. Alice stepped on my foot with her high heels.

My foot still struggled painfully beneath hers.

"She must be looking really beautiful to you for you to stare at her like that, right?"

If he allowed it to complete, Kale would be done for. Knowing the danger, Kale shot another arrow toward the center of the magic circle. It disappeared into thin air. But the first circle was just a distraction from the real one. The spell of multiple air spears was completed just above his. Only one arrow remained. Kale took the arrow and shot it toward Mia. But this time, she flew straight into the air using her wind element. The third arrow was just wasted. A smirk formed on Mia's beautiful face. She was almost sure that she had won.

She released the spell, and sharp wind spears fell to the ground like rain. When everyone thought the fight was over, Kale disappeared from his place like a flash of lightning. No attack could even scratch that silhouette of lightning. When the rain of attack finally ended, he stood there at the center of the arena, completely unharmed.

"Kale!!!!"

Cheers erupted from the gallery for that commoner. Yet no change of expression appeared on his face. Mia isn't one to give up, either. One more humongous magic circle appeared right above the arena. The crowd fell silent again. One of the most complicated and powerful formula, the hurricane circle was cast by this teenage girl. Even the nobles who participated in many wars stood from their seats. And from the sky, she cast her spell toward him.

This time he is definitely done for, or so everyone thought.

Kale, like not knowing the danger before him, pointed his arrow toward the sky and stretched the string. No arrows were left?

His pupils turned violet, and electric sparks escaped from them. For a moment the sky turned black, and the atmosphere become cold. A loud roar of thunder reverberated in everyone's ears. A bolt of lightning has passed through and destroyed the magic yet again. Even his bow was now broken.

Mia callister was speechless. This young man who is not so older than her, has destroyed every spell she cast. She felt frustrated. This time she cast an earth spell and trapped him in the ground. She was now floating right above him. One more lightning circle was born from her wand. But to her surprise, this time Kale didn't even try to defend. He just stood there not showing a single ounce of fear. Then it struck her. She had been using large-scale spells nonstop. Her mana has run dry. She felt nauseous and fell down. She was sure she will hit the ground hard.

But then someone caught her. It was kale. Realizing that she was in Kale's hands, even her ears turned red.

"How...how dare a commoner as you touch me!!"

She just blurted out what came to her mind. I mean no one can complain. It must be really embarrassing.

Kale didn't even think twice and dropped her to the ground and walked away.

Mia could only look at him disappearing while caressing her back.
