Chapter 28

It was different from the first time he stole a kiss from her, his lips on hers eagerly tasted her sweetness, like he wanted to own her. It was like he wanted to mark her with his kisses. Lina let herself go under his touch as he guided her.

He shifted pushing her down to the armrest of the seat breaking their kiss, his eyes gazed down at her Lina held his neck bringing him back to her. Opening her mouth Lina let his tongue explore her mouth.

Avril moved his hand down to her neck deepening the kiss.

When he let her go Lina was breathless, her red lips and blushing face stared back at him.

"Does that answer your question?" he said.

Lina nodded, "But what will happen now"

"What do you want to happen?"

"Nothing, I think I like this feeling too" She hugged him but then cried in pain.

"Careful" he muttered holding her.

They spent three days at his mother's place, Lina enjoyed the attention she was getting from both mother & son. His mother was so kind it made her miss her brother's love. And Avril stood by his word of making sure to look after her as she recovered.

"I will come to visit again when I have time" Lina hugged his mother.

"Please do I enjoyed your company," she said.

hugging her son she watched them drive off.

"I hope she accepts who you are son" Avril remembered what his mother had whispered in his ear before they left.

He knew what she meant, his selfish emotions had held him back from telling Lina the whole truth. But he knew he had to if he wanted anything they had to work.

Turning to her Lina was leaning on his shoulder gazing out the window.

He smiled watching her smile at the view.

Tony and the driver saw him smile from the driver's mirror and stared back at each other surprised.

"You have been gone for days, where have you been?" Archie asked Lina who had just arrived.

Avril standing next to her frowned, "Let her rest first"

"Ah, are you sick, Lina" Archie softened instantly.

Lina smiled, "No, just got into a little accident but am fine"

"Accident? What accident?" Harry and Archie gasped.

"Nothing serious but Avril saved me so don't worry," she said.

"Him again?" said Archie.

"That's sweet" Harry muttered.

"Isn't her boyfriend supposed to do that?" Avril said.

"BOYFRIEND?.. and whose boyfriend are you?" Archie yelled.

Avril still seated next to Lina smirked, "Hers" he answered holding her arm.

Archie's eyes popped out in anger as he watched, "What?".

Lina sighed, "Brother can you please calm down and your boss stop provoking him," she said to them.

"How can I calm down, how can you..." Archie felt a headache and Harry held him down.

"Lina is right calm down, and try to remember what I told you last time. She's a grown woman now you need to stop making decisions for her" Harry said to Archie.

His eyes glued on the smiling face of Avril Archie breathed and sat down.

"How long have you been together?" he asked

"I think since yesterday" she smiled.

Archie frowned but fell silent. Harry leaned closer to Avril gazing at him.

Avril leaned forward too, surprised Harry moved back, "something wrong?" he asked.

"No nothing" he answered. And smiled at his sister.

"Then can you give your sister a hand with her things while l talk to your brother," said Avril.

"Things? Is she going somewhere" Harry asked.

"Mmm, my place. Now that she's my girlfriend I was t her to stay with me" he said.

"You just started dating yesterday and want to live together, isn't it too fast? And I know you can date her without her living with you" said Archie.

Avril turned to Lina who got up and held her second brother's hand walking away.

"It seems you hold something against me, is it that you know something about me I don't or are you just being an overprotective brother," said Avril.

"Am not sure, maybe both" Archie stared into his cold eyes. "Your eyes hide something monstrous and bloodthirsty and I don't want it anywhere near my family, especially Lina"

Avril's cold blue eyes slowly turned brighter and he smiled.

"You know you can't decide for her, as long as she wants me I won't leave her side," he said.

"What exactly do you want from her, she's innocent"

Avril chuckled, "What do you think I want from her?... Cause all I know is that I like her isn't that enough for you"

Archie got up looking down at Avril, "If you did then you would not do this to her. We both know your dark miserable life is filled with danger and soon or later it will hurt her. And when that time comes I won't let you go"

"I can protect her you don't need to worry"

"Protect her, what happened to the last woman you said you would protect, wasn't it you who stuck your poisonous fangs into her neck, kill..... "

Avril got up and without hesitating grabbed Archie by the neck pinning him down, "Your lucky she holds you dear in her heart but I would kill you right now. I don't care how or who gave you that information but I suggest you refrain your tongue in front of me from now on or else.....".

"Or else what?...." muttered Archie.

Avril smirked revealing his fangs as his hold on Archie's neck tightened.

"That was my last and first warning" he whispered and let go.

Standing up he fixed his suit and looked down at the coughing man, "Tell Lina I will be waiting in the car" he said and walked out.

Avril got to the car and called Richard.

"I need you to investigate Lina's brothers, especially Archie. He knew what I was and something from my past" he told Richard on the phone.

"How is that possible, all the leads or information were wiped away. So how can he know that" said Richard.

"I can't say but if he does then someone else knows too. I can't let anything hurt my relationship with Lina right now" he said.

Richard chuckled, "You really into her, don't worry I will get to. Maybe we will know why you can't smell her blood".

Avril sighed gazing through the window at the approaching finger. Lina opened the car and got in.

"I will be waiting, I have to go now," he said hanging up.
