Chapter 84: My Turn

**Piper**

My heart sank, and I stood abruptly, my knees banging against Sophie's. The tips of my ears burned, and my blood boiled with barely contained rage. I did not want to spend time alone with Prince Gregory. I curled my hands into fists by my sides.

"Piper. . ." Peyton slowly stood, her expression wary. "Calm down." She held her hands up like I was some sort of spooked animal she was trying to tame.

"I'm calm," I bit out through clenched teeth.

But I wasn't. Not even close. How could I spend any amount of time with Prince Gregory and not show my utter disdain for him, for our entire situation? More worrisome, though, would be my inability to hide my true feelings for Jax. No doubt Prince Gregory knew I'd been with Jax. His guards had seen us, and Victor and Vince were the type to report back everything they'd seen and heard.
