Tommy

Great. In the snow again. Really? Couldn't we just explore the desert or something? It was WAY warmer there. Tommy shivered and could only focus on his legs, taking one step after another.

Left… right… left… right… His nose was stuffy, his ears felt like they were about to fall off, and snowflakes were descending toward him, performing a dance of flutters and twirls before sticking to his icy blonde hair. And the snow spiders… if they saw him now, they would devour him at first sight.

Phil turned around and saw Tommy struggling in the snow. Without a second thought, he took off his cape and wrapped it around Tommy.

Tommy looked up at Phil to give him a thank-you look, but Phil had already turned and started walking again without a word.

(I was a total brat to him earlier), he thought regrettably.

(Why did he help me? I wouldn-) Tommy froze in place.

This dark feeling of despair and wrongness suddenly loomed over him and creeped on Tommy from head to toe. All sound, thoughts and sight had completely disappeared, leaving him frozen in place with nothing but fear. His heart felt heavy and his head was fuzzy, and it was so, so cold. Whatever had overcome him, He could hear it echoing in his mind, telling Tommy something was "His fault." His fault. Everything was his fault.

"What did I do?" Tommy asked the darkness.

"What didn't you do?" it told him. "Why do you think Ranboo's gone? It's obviously your fault. You scared him away, by being so mean to him. and now your best friend is depressed and lonely and sad and will never be happy again because of it. He could never forgive you. Even after all the things you two have been through together he would never ever ever ever forgive you. Never, never, never..... "

Tommy tried to plug his ears. It didn't help.

"It's your fault Wilbur died. It's your fault L'Manburg got blown to bits. It's your fault these wars started in the first place. You should never have joined the server. You shouldn't be so damn annoying. You-"

As if someone had turned on a light, all of the darkness seeped away and cralwed into the corners it had come from. Slowly, Tommy gained consciousness again and heard muffled screams getting louder and louder.

"WAKE UP, TOM!" Phil yelled at him, shaking him out of the nightmare. Tommy gasped and fell to the ground, taking fast, short breaths. Phil was looking at him with concern, kneeling on the ground next to Tommy. "Are you ok?" he asked. Tubbo was standing next to Phil with the same worry in his eyes. "Yeah," Tommy said, taking short breaths and making clouds in the air. "I'm fine. I just… I don't think they want me to be here."

"What do you mean?" Tubbo asked. "Who's 'they?'"

Tommy sighed and shook his head. "I don't know. But we have to go inside. Quickly. Before they decide to come back."

Tommy got up and headed toward the house. He did not want to have that feeling ever again. Phil shrugged and followed Tommy. Tubbo took a deep breath before walking up to the house. Tommy looked around, about 10 feet from the door, and whirled around. What was that sound? Wait a minute… Phil was right; he could hear a nether portal. But where?

He stepped inside the dark house, the door creaking as he opened it slowly. "Hello?" he asked quietly. Only the bitter wind creeping through the windows responded. He crept inside slowly, step by step his eyes whirring looking for any sign of anything dangerous. What was that creaking sound behind him? "BOO!" Tubbo jumped at Tommy right behind him, grabbing his shoulders. "AAHH!" Tommy screamed, pulling out his axe on instinct. "TOBY! DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!! AND 'BOO?' THATS THE MOST BASED THING EVER." He yelled at him in embarrasment. Tubbo threw his head back laughing, leaning against the wall, trying to keep himself from falling over.

Tommy scoffed, put his axe away, and started looking through chests. "Well, if you're going to be like that, I'm gonna look for clues." he said as he dug through piles of useless junk. Phil came in a moment later, passing Tubbo (who was still snickering,) and looked behind paintings and underneath carpets; as if Ranboo was smart enough to actually hide something behind there.

As he searched, Tommy thought about what Ranboo could possibly be thinking. Did he feel that he needed to run away like this? Did something or someone scare him away? And if so, what? What is he scared of? Tommy brainstormed as he shifted through chests.

He doesn't like water. But that wouldn't be his reason, maybe parrots? Tommy knew endermen don't like those things. If it was someONE, Tommy have no clue. He hadn't really seen him nervous or intimidated by anyone.

After about ten minutes of looking with no sucess, Tubbo told Tommy he was going to head downstairs to see if he could find anything there. But the moment he climbed down, Tommy heard a scream.

Tommy dove after him, completely skipping the ladder and falling next to Tubbo, losing 4 HP in the process. "What is it!?" he asked his friend, sword and shield at the ready. Tubbo was holding something in his hands, but Tommy couldn't see it from where he was standing.

"He couldn't. He wouldn't leave like this without it," Tubbo mumbled to himself.

"What-" Tommy started to say before Tubbo turned around and held up a book with a worn leather cover and Ranboo's clear handwriting on the front label: "Do Not Read."

It was Ranboo's beloved journal.

"Holy sh-'' Tommy started to say when Phil climbed down the ladder, raising an eyebrow. "...shhhhhhhhroud. Holly shroud. What a great chap. Yeah." Tommy turned away from Phil awkwardly. "Yeah, I'm sure that's what you were going to say." Phil said, rolling his eyes. Tubbo stared at the cover, stroking the leather with his fingers. Without a word, he grabbed a torch off of the wall and sat down with it in hand. He flipped through the pages, his finger skimming over each one, looking for answers. He must have been reading too fast because he had to keep reading the same pages over and over again.

"There must be something in here.." he muttered to himself. Tommy peeked over Tubbo's shoulder and skimmed over the entries as well.

Fundy and tubbo…

There is a war now…

Hello ghostbur

Dream hit Tommy

Tommy is gone...

Tommy is gone...

STOP HAVING PETS DIE

I am alone

They returned from the tunnel

Mostly just random things. (Kind of sweet that Ranboo was sad when I died,) Tommy smiled. But something caught his eye...

I haven't heard the voice in a long time! I think I finally got rid of it! However, the blackouts seem more frequent which is odd. I don't think too much about them, which is alright.

Blackouts?

What Blackouts?

"Enderwalking..." Tubbo whispered. He had seen the entry as well. "It makes sense now. He could never remember them, of course, because they were just blackouts to him. But… what voice?" Tommy shook his head. "I don't know."

Nothing made sense right now. Tubbo put the book in his pocket, heading upstairs. "What do we do now?" Tommy asked, following behind him. Phil mumbled something about "going back upstairs" and "this is really a pain".

Tubbo turned back toward Tommy and held up the book. "Ranboo never leaves without this. I think this situation is more serious than we realized."

"Serious, how?" Tommy asked.

He looked at his watch to access the server's chat and started typing something on the keyboard.

"I think we need everyone."
