Asher slowly pointed his staff around, trying to find the whereabouts of the medusa which must not be far from his position. But oddly enough, he didn't find anything at all. Only the sound of hissing still rang clearly in his ears.
"Damn, where is that thing?"
Asher's heartbeat was racing, followed by cold sweat running down his face. Surely there was a reason why the creature hadn't attacked him and somehow that was what kept nagging at the back of Asher's mind, making him feel restless.
A couple of minutes later, the snake's hissing slowly disappeared on its own. Strangely, it was the same as before and Asher realized this was not a good sign. He grasped his staff tightly as his face grew even tighter. Just in case the creature could suddenly attack him. But Asher's thoughts turned out to be true. Medusa suddenly appeared behind one of the statues around Asher, and jumped straight towards Asher, preparing to finish him off using his sharp claws.
