Planning For The Future

Two days went by as usual. The Miner woke up and entered the shafts to go about the hard business of mining for Spirit stones.

She handed in her bag for inspection each day and each day that went by was a relief to Supervisor Wu who was sure that someone as smart as the Miner would figure him out. Still, he hoped to dupe the Miner for as long as possible. Only three days were left until young Master Chu arrived. By then, the Miner would have to coil up even if he were a dragon.

On the third day, the Miner saw a change in Supervisor Wu. 

This supervisor was a brutal man who liked showing off his power to the slaves daily. He usually did this by killing at least a single slave each day in front of the other slaves. He liked the terror he saw on their faces. He liked the look on the slaves' faces when they realized that they were never getting out of the mine alive. 

The reason the Miner became suspicious was because Supervisor Wu had not shown up in the mine for almost a day. Not since she had met with him in his office. 

The Miner was a wise woman who had experienced a lot of things in the world. 

Few things could surprise her. With the supervisor's abnormal behaviour, the Miner got a hint that not all would go as planned . She understood that trouble was brewing.

On the fourth day, something happened that she had not expected. She went into labor. 

She did not scream or even show any signs of pain. She moved out of her private room and after moving through the shafts for a few minutes, she entered a large room. Inside, countless slaves slept on the hard dusty ground. 

The Miner had been given her own private room due to her strength and murderous nature. 

She walked passed countless smelly bodies. 

The smell was horrible. It was enough to kill small creatures such as rats on a single breath.

Some of the slaves screamed in their sleep. They were having nightmares. This was to be expected since they saw death every single day.

The Miner walked until she reached a sleeping woman. This woman was covered in an old blanket. 

This was the only 'friend' the Miner had made in this place. 

He touched her gently and the woman was startled out of her sleep. 

When she saw who it was, she calmed down and bowed her head. 

"Come with me. "ordered the Miner as she walked out of the room.

The woman followed from a safe distance. 

Before they could go out of the room, a guard on duty looked at them and smirked. 

It was a well-known fact that the Miner had taken this woman as his sex slave. 

The woman was quite beautiful and many guards and other slaves lusted after her curvaceous body, but she was the Miner's property. 

Anyone who approached her was killed instantly. 

In this mine, the women who were brought in were constantly raped by the guards and the other slaves. It was simply the way of things. 

This woman was in a way lucky compared to other women. 

All she had to do was please a single man and her safety was assured yet the other women were raped by at least two men each day. Most women committed suicide rather than stay in this mine. 

The guard did not try stopping them. 

The Miner walked back to his room. Once there, the woman closed the door behind her and sat in a corner. 

This was how things usually were. 

The Miner sat on her bed in silence for a few minutes.

"Have you memorized everything I told you to?" asked the Miner. 

The woman shivered slightly. 

"Yes, I have. "she replied in her soft voice. 

"Good. "said the Miner.

It was true that the Miner had claimed this woman as her property but he /she never raped her or anything like that. 

They had spent all these months with the Miner teaching her a few things. These included how to take care of a young child, how to act, and what to do after the Miner had left. 

She had been trying to make a plan for her child in case she had to leave suddenly and could not take him or her along. 

She had also planned for a situation where she ended up dead. 

She had done this by choosing one of the women among a new batch of slaves. She had then taught this woman everything she needed to know. The woman had been very confused by the Miner's teachings but she went along with his orders. 

The Miner stood up and for the first time, he began removing his dark cloak. 

The woman sighed. 

She thought that the inevitable was finally about to happen. 

She was about to be raped. 

She had prepared herself for this and when the Miner began removing his clothes, something he had never once done during their nightly meetings, she simply sighed. 

When the cloak fell to the ground, the woman was shocked. 

The person everyone in the mine feared so much was a woman. The Miner was a beautiful woman. 

The woman was stunned. 

The Miner was not just a woman but she was a pregnant woman who was ready to pop at any moment. 

The Miner removed her clothes and dropped them to the floor. She was stunning. 

Even the other woman was mesmerized by her beauty. 

She blushed and looked away. The Miner just smiled. 

The Miner brought out a basin of water from under her bed. She also had a few pieces of clothes. 

She then lay on the stone bed and smiled at the woman beside her.

"Now, help me deliver this child. "said the Miner.

The woman had stopped thinking. 

She dazedly went through the motions. 

Minutes later, a baby boy was born without any issues. 

Over the next few days, the Miner and the woman stayed in the room alone. 

The Miner told the guards and Supervisor Wu that she had use for the woman for the next few days. They thought that he was in the room enjoying himself.
