Enemy Of Humanity

Prince Jie Shui and his men watched as the flames lit up the night sky. This scene was beautiful but the prince was not in the mood. The prince looked at the flames and he was still not impressed. He felt that something was off. For good measure, he ordered his men to bombard the place using their fire art.

Fire rained down on the same spot for over five minutes. This was enough firepower to kill any Qi Gathering cultivator. The prince knew of very few people who could survive this onslaught. He now hoped that his enemy was not one of these few. The prince finally felt a bit safe but he still had a bad feeling about the entire encounter. The sinister unclean aura he had picked up told him that whatever he was facing was not of this world. It did not belong in the world of the living. It had to be destroyed at all costs. When everything finally settled down, there was a large pit left on the ground. The pit was charred and some of the rocks and sand had melted. Not even a single blade of grass could be seen. This was to be expected. The prince's odd behaviour had startled his men. They now stood at attention ready to face the enemy. The prince slowly walked toward the pit with his sword out. When he reached the edge of the pit, he set his sword on fire. The flames were tightly packed together making it seem as though he was holding a pillar of fire.

He looked in the pit with his sword raised. He would cut down whatever came out of the pit.

The flames on his sword provided him with the light he needed to see at the bottom of the pit.

There, he saw a black skeleton. It was charred slightly but all its bones were intact. The prince sighed in relief. It seemed that he had used so much power that the enemy had been turned into nothing but a skeleton.

He was about to begin berating himself for the use of excessive force when the skeleton jumped out of the pit. It moved so fast that the prince did not have time to think. Still, he was a hardened soldier who had seen a lot and fought countless enemies. He instinctively swung his flaming sword towards the enemy.

The black skeleton blocked the sword with its right hand. The sound of their class made the soldiers rush toward their prince. The skeleton did not give the righteous prince time to gather himself. It made a fist and punched him in the stomach. The first ripped into the prince's stomach and penetrated until it appeared through his back. The prince spewed a mouthful of blood onto the skeleton. The blood was immediately absorbed into the black bones. The skeleton felt a great pleasure move through it but it somehow knew that it was not time to enjoy itself. It threw the dying prince to the side and rushed into the soldiers. Bones and metal clashed in a mighty display of power. The skeleton did not seem to have any weak points and whenever it killed some poor soldier, it seemed to get stronger. The soldiers did their best but the skeleton was the first of its kind. The soldiers did not know how to fight against this dead foe who had no mercy or remorse. Its eyes were red and lifeless. Whoever looked into its eyes saw their death and the pained screams of countless beings. This was enough to stun most humans into a stupor leaving them defenceless and at the mercy of the skeleton. Since the skeleton had no mercy, the only outcome for the soldiers was death. The skeleton and the soldiers fought as though the end of the world had come knocking. The horses went mad with terror and began throwing off their riders as they fled as fast as they could. The skeleton did not see any difference between the humans and the horses. It killed both rider and horse bathing itself in blood and the aura of death. The ground was covered in crimson blood and the air filled with the screams of dying men and horses. This was no longer a battle, it was a one-sided massacre and the humans were on the wrong side depending on whether one loved life.

The spears and swords wielded by the soldiers were tough and powerfully made but the skeleton had bones that were seemingly harder than steel. Spear tips bent on contact and swords bounced off the bones leaving not even a simple mark to show that their deaths were not in vain.

The prince lay in a pool of his own blood watching as his men died at the hands of the unnatural, ungodly creature that was the skeleton.

He heard the screams of terror made by his men. With each man that fell, the prince felt his heartbreak and his heart fill with righteous rage.

He knew that he could not let this creature survive that night. It was too powerful and merciless. It lacked all the presence of humanity.

If he were to describe it in a few words, he would call it the enemy of humanity.

The prince was very intelligent and observant. He realised that the skeleton was rapidly gaining power with each kill it made. All the blood that fell on its black bones disappeared as though it was absorbing it. If this went on, the skeleton would become a calamity that would leave the entire sky continent as nothing but a graveyard.

The skeleton became faster and stronger with each passing moment. It moved through the soldiers like a shadow. It killed each soldier with a single blow to the chest. It started with a fist but it then changed to using its flat palm. To the prince, it seemed like some sort of art. When the price caught a glimpse of the skeleton's eyes for a second time, he felt dread fill his mind. The first time he saw those red eyes, they simply gave him a bad chill but there was nothing like intelligence to talk about. Now, the red eyes were filled with a rapidly growing self-awareness and he could even see hints of intelligence.

The prince understood that he needed to inform the world about this new enemy who sought nothing but death and despair.

The world needed to be warned about 'The Enemy Of Humanity'.
