Unveiled (MLL)

With each mile that he passed with his car his anger turned from fury to a blinding fire to a pitch black pit of chaos. And yet the pitch black chaos was too small a word as further ahead he went, until there he stood in front of ‘Manerium Somniorum’ The manor of dreams. Standing at the gates his anger dissipated to a form of fear and melancholy. Christian knew it like he knew the back of his hand that these emotions were his. Whatever he was feeling was an aftermath of what the manor was listening in on. The walls were screaming the story that unfolded between their bricks as the windows tried to leap open, over powered by the yearning need for some kind of a void. An escape from what unfolded. The gate of the manor seemed barred from reality. Acutely preoccupied by the nightmare. Participating and escaping every word the manor screamed. Time did not exist beyond these gates. No what was left behind was simply the shadow of broken hearts. With each second that passed Christian watched a darkness descend upon the manor as thick mists of clouds and shadows formed. Untouched was the reality outside the gate but inside Manerium Somniorum dreamed. Dreamed of a heartbroken man. Echoed of an unquenchable thirst. Begged for her return. Pulling every reality into it in its desperation, whispering and moaning Christian or anyone that dared to watch to enter. Enter their dream. Dream their love. And bathe in their despair as a symphony lulled Christian into a heavy sleep. With each ticking minute the manor seemed to draw further and further away, without even realizing his eyes had closed and his body was mesmerized by her. By them. It played out again like a song, starting with a verse. A look. A pair of eyes. A shadow. As translucent darkness shone brightly around a man and interlaced with his soul. And there she stood. It was her form and her face and yet her eyes betrayed who she was. A conscious thought metaphored into her existence, standing right there under the soft glow of his lantern. Christian was the prince and the prince was chaos as their fell in love for the first time. As their skin felt the fleeting graze of her smile and their ears heard the soft whisper of her gown tease the ground. There all three souls stood as one falling in love with the same form and yet a different woman. "We were never meant for tomorrow ..." She said with a trembling voice as her hand reached out for his, so close and yet much like their fates all there was between them were dreams.

Chapter 2

22nd July 2019.

That's the day Athena was shipped to Tuscany High, the school for the rich and elite. If you wanted to be anyone in life you started your career here. At least, that's what Athena's aunt always told her. Her aunt had let her apply for the entrance exam here a long time ago, but Athena had never expected to get in.

Only the smartest got in and Athena felt like she was average at best. And if she was being honest to herself she did not want to be here. Agaracia was not the place she wanted to spend the next 10 years of her life. Her entire college life after high school was supposed to be fun and games and getting into Tuscany meant the exact opposite of that. She would get her master's degree in finance and take over the company from Uncle Frank before she could even learn to speak French from a hot French man that she would fuck.

With her fate sealed she unwillingly entered the mansion assigned to her. The one she would be sharing with a 'Grace Mascot'.

Standing outside the large three-floor mansion of blue, Athena felt lost. The mansion had a gym, an art studio, a pool, and two suites for the students and a guest room for the parents whenever they choose to visit. Each mansion was assigned according to the specific applications on the form they applied. As was their roommate. So, Athena assumed her roommate was good at painting like her.

Inserting the key to the mansion Athena opened the door to walk into her prison. Standing in the large foyer she looked up at the large ornate Chandelier. The décor already giving her a Venetian vibe. There stood a proud center table under the chandelier atop it a single golden vase filled with white calla lilies which seemed to match the pale brown wooden stairway.

On the right was the living room while the left lead to a kitchen.

Letting her black heels click their way to the right, Athena entered the living room. It had a large white sofa in the center facing a the television. The main wall was painted white with alternate patterns of golden laced leaves. It stood out when compared with the other plain white walls. At the far end was a large shelf that covered an entire wall filled with novels, each sorted out by the genre they belonged to. Romance, Horror, Erotic literature, Murder mysteries, biographies, so on and so forth. Hundreds of books lined up neatly on each stack catering to every need of a reader.

Guess they weren't biased about what the students could and could not read.

"Ms. Grey?" Athena heard her maid Gabby call out from the foyer.

Walking back to her; Athena briefly glanced at the ceiling to floor windows lined with lacy white curtains with intricate blue flowers woven in between. The delicate pattern drawing out the artistic arrangement of the room.

"Yes?"

"Where should we carry these boxes miss?"

"Oh right. Wait for a minute."

Walking up the two floors Athena opened each suite. They were identical. The college gave the students a bare room without color or furniture so that they could paint, design and decorate however they liked. But that was not why Athena had to check the rooms. The difference between the two suites was the view. The first one faced the garden in front of the mansion, while the other faced the lake that was at the far end of the campus. All mansions were constructed this way. One suite always facing Lake Richen. And that was the one she wanted.

"Gabby! Get the men here. I want the room done by tonight!" Athena called out.

She waited as Gabby made her way to the suite she chose putting down the box before nodding in agreement, confirming it would be done by then.

With that, Athena left the mansion to scout Starbucks in the car that had been delivered here before she arrived. After all no matter what Athena said she was one of the rich idiots who could not pass through life without Starbucks, malls, or maids.
