2 Chapter 1

Tia…

Athena heard Christian call out. His voice urgent, desperate but most of all scared. He couldn't find her. That always scared him.

Tia… She heard it louder this time. It came from somewhere behind. Turning around she started to walk. Following the sound of his voice, the sheer material of the Grecian toga clinging onto to her body as the wind whipped and tore at it.

Her naked feet digging into the rough grains of sand as she moved to find him.

Tia!

This time his voice was broken. She knew he was really scared now. Christian thought Athena had left him. As if she ever could. But, he did not believe that. He was sure she would leave him. He was sure he was the monster that did not deserve to me loved.

Suddenly, there was no light. Athena could not see a thin, and then just like that there was light again, shaping his form. Christian's back to Athena. His body bent in the cloak that graced his beautiful body.

'Christian' Athena whispered.

His body suddenly jerked alive as he turned to face her. His eyes were brimming with unshed tears.

'Why did you leave me tia?'

'Diablo… I heard something… I didn't want to wake you.'

Christian took a step closer to Athena, his fingers reaching out to touch her face. His eyes almost unbelieving.

'My goddess' he sighed in relief.

His lips parted ever so slightly, his face etched closer until his forehead against her.

'My goddess. It's time for you to wake up…'

With that, Athena woke up to the lingering smell of musk.

Athena found it odd that every dream she ever had would be of this man. The same man that she referred to as Diablo, Kalona or Eros. His name was Christian. But, what she found odder was that those dreams always left behind the smell of musk. Athena knew that Christian did not exist and yet the smell sometimes made her believe that he did. That somehow these dreams were real. But, that was silly.

Pushing aside the lingering feeling of safety Athena looked out of the window of her car. It was a long way from home and yet something about it was different. Something about it was familiar.
