Chapter 5

Anna's POV

AFTER ONE MONTH

One month has passed since I was admitted to the hospital. One month has passed since the kiss happened. 

But the feeling is still here. It feels like I was dancing through the waves. 

Yexel treated me more than I expected. After what happened, he still always visits me everyday. After his class, he always goes here to take care of me and do his passion. 

Even though mom does not treat him well, through the time that he always makes my day happy, my mom's heart becomes soft for him. 

It feels like I'm his girlfriend but the truth is not. 

Truth hurts as they say, that is why for one month I did not tell Yexel about what my condition is. About what my mental illness is because I want to live my life normally. Like how normal people live. 

I want to show my love for him without even considering my illness. Yes! I don't deny that I already fell in love with him but I still believe in the right time. 

Because when the right time comes, the right person will follow. I still remember what Liya told me the last time we saw each other. 

Love will always find ways even through the agony.

"Hey, Darling! Are you alone here?" my mom asked as she entered my hospital room then she put her things on the couch.

"Yeah. Yexel did not come yet. I think he was still on his class," 

Mom fixed the things I need so that I can be excused in my class and luckily the administration allowed me to catch up all my missed lessons after I got out of here.

"I see. By the way, did you already tell him about your illness?" 

"Not yet, Mom. Maybe in the right time. Besides, I'm almost done with my therapy," I explained.

"But he has a right to know it, okay?"

"I know," then I continued to say, "Mom, can you please get my laptop?"

"Here," she said as she put it on my lap. 

"Anna, did you already meet his parents?" Mom unexpectedly asked.

"Who? Yexel? Not yet but he told me that his mother had already died so he only lives with his father," I answered.

"I see," she said, then I looked at her and asked, "Why did you suddenly ask, Mom?"

"Nothing. I thought you already meet her Dad,"

"I hope so," and I chuckled. 

Then the door opens and it shows the handsome guy that brings hope with me.

Here he is. I've been waiting for him since morning.

"Hi!" I greeted him and then he tiredly smiled at me.

He sits beside me and holds my hand. 

"Are you alright?" I asked.

"Yhup. We just had an exam today and that is why I look tired. How are you?" 

"I'm fine. The doctor said that after three days I can go home already,"

His eyes smiled, "Really? Good to hear,"

He suddenly yawned. He's really tired. 

"Yexel, you can rest here for a while. You really look tired. You deserved a rest,"

He gently brushes my hair and says, "Thank you!" Then he positioned his head on my lap. 

He quickly fell asleep. I stared at him for a moment.

I never imagined how blessed I am since I met you. You gave me hope and kindness. All I can do right now is give back the love even without your permission. I know the right time will come with the both of us.

I sighed then let him rest. 

I spent my hours writing on my laptop while he was sleeping. Few hours later, he slowly moved and eventually his eyes opened.

I smiled at him then he lazily asked, "What time is it?" 

"It's 7pm," then his eyes widened.

"Shit! I still need to do something," he hurriedly said.

"School works?" 

"Yes. Sorry, Anna. But I really need to go," 

"It's alright. You will come back, right?"

"Of course! I will come back tomorrow. I promise," he said then he held my hand with his assurance.

"Take care!" I said while he was putting his things on his bag.

Then he quickly waves his hands and the door swallows until he is gone in my sight.

Next day, I finished my second to last therapy. While I am waiting for him, I looked at our photos when we first went out. It was pretty good to be with him.

In the afternoon, I always glanced at the door waiting for him but he's still not coming back.

Until the night came, he did not show himself. He did not also text me. Why?!

What happened to him?? He promised me that he would come back. Maybe he was busy or he's doing something important. I know he would never fail me. 

But, there was no Yexel show. It feels like my day was not complete without seeing him.

Until my last day in the hospital, I'm still waiting at him to come. I've also texted him but I did not receive any reply. I also tried to call him but his phone is off. 

Now, my mother is preparing the things that we need like the bills and the medicines that I need before we go home. 

Unexpectedly, while I am fixing myself, someone enters the room. 

"BESSSSYYYYY!" 

You're right! The most annoying friend of mine. 

"Liya! What are you doing here?!" 

"Obviously, I'm visiting you!" Then she winked at me. Okay? What's the matter? 

"You're late! I'm already going home in a bit!" 

"Hmmmp! You did not tell me about your condition then you don't want me to visit you?!" Then she raised her eyebrows.

I chuckled, "Sorry. I just don't want you to be worried," 

She rolled her eyes then she teasingly smiled at me,

"THEN YOU DID NOT TELL ME THAT YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND?!" she screamed. 

I put my fingers on my ear because she was too loud. 

"Boyfriend?! What are you talking about, Liya?!" I confusingly asked.

"In denial! Who's Yexel? Is he your boyfriend, right?!" 

I started to laugh at her, "Where did you get that news?! Hahahah," 

Then I suddenly stopped laughing when two men entered my room. Niko and Jim. Yexel's friend.

"HI, ANNA!" Jim greeted then Niko waved his hands on me.

"Okay! Hi! What's the matter? What are you two doing here?" 

They both looked at each other and they don't know who's going to talk next, 

"To give this to you," Niko said hesitantly then he showed me a piece of paper. 

"What is this?" I asked when Niko gave it to me. 

I slowly opened it and a handwriting showed. It was a letter.

"From who?" 

"Yexel," they both answered.

I open it again and read it silently, 

"Dear Anna, 

Sorry for not showing up for two days. I was so busy doing important things. I knew that I broke my promise but please bear with me. Honestly, what I did is all about you. Please listen to Niko and Jim on what they say. See you! ♡ 

Yours truly, Yexel,"

After I read the letter, Jim went beside me and he placed a white handkerchief on my eyes. 

"Hey! What's the meaning of this?!" I protested while he was tying the handkerchief. 

All I can see right now is darkness.

"LIYA!" I called my best friend.

"Bessy, wait for a minute. Just stay there, okay?" she assured me. 

All I can hear is the sound of their footsteps and the sound of different love songs played inside the room.

Then a few minutes later, someone slowly removed the handkerchief from my eyes.

"Don't open your eyes yet," he ordered.

And a strum of a guitar played and someone started to sing. 

🎵Wise men say only fools rush in

But I can't help falling in love with you….🎶

I slowly open my eyes and the man that I was waiting for is standing in front of me with a guitar in his hand.

Sweet smile showed on his face as he continued to sing.

🎵Oh, shall I stay, would it be a sin

Oh, if I can't help falling in love with you?🎵

My eyes widened when I realized that there were balloons on the floor and the three people behind Yexel were also holding balloons and a bouquet of sunflowers.

Liya stepped towards me and gave the bouquet of sunflowers.

"Bessy! Take the chance, okay?" she whispered and giggled. 

Gallons of happiness is flowing right now. I don't know what to do.

🎵Oh, for I can't help falling in love with you🎵

Then he made the last strum of his guitar. 

Tears of joy began to fall down on my face. 

He looked at me eyes to eyes and said,

"Anna, you're like a sun that always made my day shine. You're like a wave that always made me go with the flow with you. You're like a book that always made me inspire with your story and you're like a game that I always fight for and willing to win your heart,"

I could not control the tears in my eyes.

Unexpectedly, he kneeled in front of me and he showed me a box. 

He slowly opened it and I saw a necklace with a heart pendant. I put my hand on my mouth because of the amusement that I feel.

"Anna, w-will y-you be m-my girlf-friend?" he nervously asked. 

If it is the right time then there is no reason to reject him.

"Yes! I will," 

Then a wide smile formed on his face and he quickly stood up and got the necklace in the box. 

He slowly put it on my neck and I placed my hand on the pendant.

"I love you," he whispered in my ear.

The three people who witnessed this special moment clapped their hands then Yexel wrapped his hands tightly on my body.

"I love you too," I also whispered in happiness.
