Chapter 6

Yexel's POV

My heart is still celebrating with joy when Anna became my girlfriend one week ago. That's the most fulfilling moment in my life.

Now, I am looking at myself in front of my mirror while brushing my hair. I also spray the fresh-aromatic scent of my perfume that I have been using since then. 

If you're wondering why I am doing this, well I am going to fetch MY GIRLFRIEND because I am going to introduce her to my Dad later.

Anna's calling...

I smiled when I saw her name on the phone. 

"Hello? Love?"

"Love!! Where are you?"

"I'm on my way, Love," I answered. 

"Hmm alright. Take care, okay?" 

"See youuuu," then the call ended already.

I hurried myself to fetch her in their house. One hour later, I took a ride from our home to their home. But before I came here, I also bought her favorite bouquet of sunflowers. 

I knock on their gate and call her, "ANNA? LOVE!"

Then suddenly, the gate opened and it showed the adorable face of my girlfriend. 

"Hi!" She cheerfully greeted and then stepped down from their gate.

I also gave the flower to her after she went out. Unexpectedly, she kissed me on the cheeks and said, "Thank you! You're so sweet,"

I held her hand and looked at her, "Ready?"

"I'm excited! This is the first time that I will meet your Dad,"

I chuckled, "Let's go!" 

"Wait," then she called her mom, "Mom! We're going,"

And her mother showed from their door. 

"Alright! Enjoy!" then she looked at me, "Yexel! Take care of her, okay?"

"Yes, Ma'am!" I replied and they both chuckled.

We decided to walk for a moment because this is what we usually do when we were going out. We usually have deep conversations when we are walking. 

We're not like other couples who're dating in malls or in restaurants because in this simple conversation while holding her hand is enough to love her more than ever.

"How are you now?" 

"I'm doing fine. I'm trying to live my life normally," she answered.

"How about school? Do you have a hard time catching up your lessons?" 

"Somehow but I am trying my best to catch up besides we're both graduating. I want to graduate together with you,"

"Yeah. Then pursue our dreams together," I said in determination.

She nodded, "But you know what I want to relax for a moment. I want to go somewhere far from city,"

I made a wide smile and said, "Really? Let's see what I can do," 

"Hey! I was just kidding! You don't need to do something about it,"

"No! I will do everything just to make you feel better,"

"Yexel!" she protested.

"You will kiss me if you do not agree," I bravely teased her.

"Fine! Do whatever you want," she said while still protesting then I just laughed with her reaction.

Few minutes later, she went in front of me while she was walking backwards, "Do you think your dad will like me?"

"Of course! You're my sunshine and he has nothing to do with it," and I winked at her. 

She rolled her eyes and looked away from me. She's blushing. I can't help myself not to smile. 

I learned to tease her since we became in a relationship and I just find her cute with it. 

After almost an hour of walking, we decided to take a ride going in our house. 

When we finally reached our house, I noticed that she was sweating. I smiled and held her hand.

"Nervous?" 

"No! I'm not! I just feel hot," she denied. 

I chuckled and said, "Let's go?" Then she nodded. I did not let go of her hand until we entered our home.

"Dad?" I called.

Then we heard his footsteps from the kitchen. Suddenly, Anna went behind my back. 

"Hey! What's the problem?" I whispered.

"I'm nervous!" 

I formed a smile on what she said, "It's okay! Just keep calm,"

I took a deep breath when Dad was in front of us. 

"Yexel! Who's with you?" He asked in curiosity.

"Hmm. Dad, this is Anna. Anna Ramirez. My girlfriend," then Anna showed herself.

"Hello, Mr. San Diego. Nice to meet you," then she offered a handshake to Dad.

Dad stared at Anna from top to bottom then looked her again in the eyes.

"Anna Ramirez? You're so gorgeous! You've changed a lot since the last time I saw you,"

I raised my eyebrows because of confusion. What does my dad mean? 

"Sorry? Hmm. It's my first time to meet you, Mr. San Diego," Anna explained. 

"You did not know?" Dad asked in confusion.

"What is it, Dad?" Then he looked at me.

"Nevermind! Let's eat. Come here, Anna." 

He invited Anna to the table that had different kinds of food prepared. 

I just ignored what he said and offered a seat to Anna then I also sat beside her while Dad was in the center. 

Honestly, Dad has been getting weird since last month. He does not even talking about my career. He always came home late and he always looked at my mother's picture every night. I can't blame him, he loves my mom so much. 

While we are eating, Dad keeps on staring at Anna every second. 

"You look like Yexel's mom," Dad said out of nowhere. 

Anna made a smile and said, "Yexel mentioned it one time. I just wish I can see her on the picture," 

"She's beautiful like you,"

"Thank you," Anna said while she's blushing. 

After we had lunch, Dad was always talking to Anna. He only talked about my Mom. 

Suddenly, my phone rang. I looked for it and I saw that it was the private resort that I inquired about yesterday.

"Excuse me," I said, then stepped away from them because this is about one of the surprises I've made for her.

Anna's POV

Yexel went out for a moment because he had an important call, I guess. 

Now, I am with his Dad. 

"Do you want to see the picture of Yexel's mom?" He unexpectedly asked. 

I nodded then to my surprise he put his hand on my hand that was placed on the table. I quickly removed my hand and he just stared at me. 

Honestly, I find his Dad creepy. I don't know why! It is not I don't trust him but I just find him weird. 

I followed him after he stand and walked in a room. 

As we entered the room, all I could see was darkness, not until he opened the lights. Paintings, sketches and artworks that were hanging on the wall showed on me. 

"My wife really loves art when she was still alive,"

While I'm looking around in the room, my eyes stopped on a huge picture frame of a woman dressed in red that was placed on the center of the wall. 

"Is this Yexel's Mom?" I asked while I'm pointing out the picture frame.

"Yeah. Her beauty is indeed and her kindness never lose until her last breath," 

I looked at him, "What do you mean?"

"She saved a young girl until her last breath,"

I'm still looking at the picture when he said that and suddenly, he put his hands on my shoulder.

Then he moved closely until his breath touched my ear.

"That girl is lucky because she has the heart of my loving wife," he whispered.

My skin hair raised in fear. It feels like I'm freezing for a moment and I'm running out of breath.

"Dad?!" 

Yexel came. I deeply sighed. I know I'm safe now.

"What are you doing?!" he warned, then his dad quickly walked away from me. 

"Nothing. I'm just letting Anna to see your mom,"

He looked at his father seriously. He held my hand and we walked away from the room. 

"Are you alright?" he worriedly asked when we reached his room. 

"Yah. Don't worry. I'm okay,"

"Did he do something on you?"

"Nothing! He just showed me your mom's picture," I assured him even though I felt scared at that moment.

"Are you sure?" 

"Yeah. Don't worry, Love. By the way, who called you?" 

"Hmm. My classmate. He just asked about our project," he explained. 

"I see,"

"Wanna go home?" He asked then an idea came into my mind.

"I love you!" 

His eyes widened on what I said. I started to laugh at his reaction.

"I love you too!" Then he quickly kissed me on the cheeks.

I stopped on what he did. I'm still not used into this. 

"That's what you get for teasing me," he said and winked at me.

I just rolled my eyes then we simply laughed with each other. 

"Close your eyes," he suddenly said.

"Why?" 

"Just close your eyes please?" He demanded.

So, I quickly closed my eyes like he said. 

After a few seconds, he held my hand and opened my palm then suddenly I felt a paper on my hand.

"Open," he commanded. 

So, I slowly opened my eyes then looked for the paper that was placed on my hand. 

I put my hands on my mouth and my eyes were in shock when I realized what was written on the paper. 

It's a reservation ticket from a private resort. 

I looked at him then turned my eyes again on the paper multiple times. I can't believe this!

"OMG! IS THIS TRUE?!" 

"Yes. Together with your friend and my friends," he answered.

"OMGGGGG!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH LOVE!"

Then I hugged him tightly. The happiness I'm feeling right now is flowing like how the waves move. 

"You deserved it, Love!"

All of a sudden, the smile on my face slowly vanished when I realized that I never gave him such things like this. 

"This is unfair!"

"What? Why? What do you mean?" 

"You always gave me things like this but I didn't even give you something since we were together," then I pouted. I feel guilty.

"Look at me," then he held my chin up and continued to say, "Listen! I don't need gifts or anything, okay? Your happiness and love are enough for me. So don't feel guilty,"

"But…,"

"No buts! Love doesn't measure all the things that we give. The important is the happiness and love for each other and for me my happiness is to give all I can do just to make you happy,"

Then he slowly wrapped his arms on my body. 

"Thank you," I whispered.
