Chapter nineteen

The lecturer just stared at their rat, then stared at their scared faces.

" are you guys blind? can't you see that your rat survived? why are you scared? " the lecturer asked smiling. " you guys passed " he added then walked to the next person. Praise and Kelly took in a deep breath, then released it in relief.

After the lecturer was done calling the list, he stood in front of the whole class smiling nor stop. I'm even sure that his jaws already hurting him. But what can he do? he's so proud of his students. The once that didn't make it, all did their best and it was only one or two things that made their patients die. All the lecturer need to do is just show them what they were missing and what they did wrong. He started giving them correction and them same time still congratulating them for trying their best.

After he was done, he checked his wrist watch and the time was already 4: 20am.

" students for your time and hard work since yesterday till today, I am giving you a day off " the lecturer announced. The students started shouting. It was a shout of joy. " you guys should go home, sleep, eat, and come back tomorrow" he added. All of a sudden, two rats ran out. The girls ran out of the class screaming. While the boys wanted to catch the rat. But some boys didn't have time for that, they just left.

Praise and Amanda reached their rooms, and they saw Amanda sleeping, holding her phone.

" looks like Aman has been waiting for our call" Praise said looking at her phone.

" why say so" Kelly asked.

" I have five missed calls from her " Praise said.

" oh I have four " Kelly said looking at her phone.

" watch me" Praise said pressing her phone. She took Kelly's left hand, and dragged her. They stood behind Amanda.

* ring ring * Amanda phone rang. She rushed up and picked her phone. She saw that it was from Praise, so she happily picked the call.

" hello, are you guys done? " she asked with a sleepy tone.

" how do you know that we were doing something? did you come after lecture " Praise asked anxious.

" no. I got home first. You guys weren't home, so I went back to look for you guys. I saw you guys treating rats. You know I was so worried" she explained still sleepy.

" oh... I'm sorry I didn't pick your call " Praise apologized.

' it's okay. both you and Kelly should come home safe okay? "

" okay". After they cut the call, Amanda lay down, and was gone within five minutes.

" I'm guessing she waited longer than we expected" Kelly whispered still staring at Amanda.

A few hours later, Amanda woke up and started getting ready to go to class. She woke Praise saying...

" aren't you guys going to class " she asked.

" no. we have a day off " Praise replied sleepy.

" okay sleep well " Amanda said then left the room.

Fabian and the guys were standing in front of the school, talking and laughing. They saw Amanda coming out of cab. Fabian left the other boys and went to meet Amanda.

" good morning sweetheart " Fabian teased her smiling.

" first, good morning. And second, don't call me sweetheart " Amanda said still walking.

" okay honey "

" no "

" sugar "

" I'm was the one calling you sugar " Amanda said smiling.

" yeah, while I called you pumpkin " Fabian laughed out.

" Aman afa " Justin said.

" I'm fine " she replied.

" hey Amanda " Collins said waving his right hand once.

" hey" she replied.

" where is Praise and Kelly? " Justin asked.

" they both have a day off " Amanda replied. As they were about to enter the school, Justin decided to put his hand on Amanda's shoulder. But as he was about to do it, Fabian hit his hand...

" ouch " Justin shouted.

" what is it? " Amanda asked then turned to him.

" oh nothing. Mosquito. " Justin guessed.

" liar. But I won't say anything " Amanda said then went her way.

" wait" Fabian yelled then followed her.

" shay he nor forget say her class dey that side. And our own dey this side? ( hope he didn't forget that her class is in that direction and ours is in this direction?)" Justin said looking confused.

at Amanda's home

" mummy, where are you going? " Samuel asked giving her the car keys. " and why are you driving? " he added. His mom was like seriously in a hurry.

" you father is the one driving " she replied then rushed outside.

" oh daddy is going too. I should ask him " Samuel said to himself. He went to his father's room and saw his father still hurrying.

" daddy, why are you guys in a hurry? " Samuel asked curious.

" see I can't tell you now" his father said putting his wallet inside his pocket. " go and give your mother her purse " his father said giving Samuel the purse. Samuel rushed to give his mother her purse. And as he rushed back, he saw his father in the parlor. Just then, Anthony walked in.

" why are they in a hurry? " Anthony asked.

" they are not telling me anything " Samuel replied.

" daddy" Samuel yelled.

" it's your uncle ( Mr Maxwell's older brother)..." he paused.

" what happened " Anthony asked scared.

" he...he... just... he just passed away "
