Jessica sat on her bed, her mind swirling with thoughts of Delilah. Delilah's calm voice during their call had sounded so…off. What was she playing at? Was she trying to make a fool out of Hunter, or was there something more?
Jessica couldn't quite put her finger on what was going and she couldn't shake the feeling that Hunter was in deep shit, seeing how calm Delilah was.
A soft knock on her door interrupted her thoughts. "Jessica dear? You in there?" Lilian's voice called from the other side.
Jessica sighed, pulling herself out of her musings. "Come in," she said, not really in the mood for company but too polite to send Lilian away.
She really could not understand why both mother and son were set on encroaching on her personal space all the time.
Lilian peeked in, her face warm and cheerful. "I've been thinking… you and I should go out. It's a beautiful day, and being cooped up here is no good for anyone."
