"It's been a few weeks since I last saw you, how have you been," Alex asked her sister.

"Okay, ....and you heard the surgery was a success"

"Mmm, I thought I would see you there when I awoke but you weren't there," she said.

"Something happened with work and I could not get away," she said.

"I always thought you would stop being selfish one day and think about others but it's like you never changed," she said.

"Alex... I...." Cynthia tried to say.

"I was in a coma for a week Cynthia and you didn't bother to come see me and even when I woke up and kept sending Roy to get you to see me you never appeared. Yes my phone was off but Roy, Becca, Mother or Nathan weren't you could have called and asked for me..... but you didn't. Are we ending up like this" Her body was trembling with anger?

Cynthia crouched her head, "Am sorry sister".

"Sorry, Sorry, sorry. That is all I keep getting from you, but I don't even know what you're sorry for anymore. I hate that this is happening but you're not making it any easy with your distance" she cried.

"I know Alex but a lot has happened since you left home that you don't know about. You were able to run away from it for a while but I could not. Mom was on my neck torturing me every day making me go crazy, and you and Mama Rosa the only people I could depend on had left me" she let out.

"I know I was a coward and am truly sorry for leaving you but what did you want us to do? Beg your mother, she never once liked us always taunting me and mother. I could not take it anymore and decided to leave, but even that didn't stop her from harming us"

"Alex you don't have to worry about Mother, she's gone now. Your boyfriend made sure of it" Cynthia butter out

"Huh, what do you mean?" Alex asked.

"She was arrested a few weeks ago after evidence of her crimes was found by the police," she said.

"What, how did that happen?"

Cynthia told her sister everything. "I didn't know about any of this," said Alex.

"It's because your boyfriend didn't let it pop out so much, he made sure by the time you got discharged from the hospital any trace of Mom's news be erased like it never happened. Everybody knows about it but dare not say anything 'cause they are afraid of him" Cynthia bit her lips with tears in her eyes.

Alex drank some water and breathed, "Did you know about those things she did?"

Cynthia glanced up at her and tears fell down her face.

"You knew... Oh My God" Alex gasped. "You Knew what she was doing and kept all of that from me, Mom and especially Dad"

"It haunted me every single day" she cried.

Alex sighed, "Come here," she said to her sister.

Cynthia sniffed gazing at her, "I said come closer" she said again. She got up and got to Alex's seat. Kneeling next to her, her tears fell as Alex looked down on her.

She bent down pulling her sister in for a hug, "Am sorry Cynthia, it must have been hard for you" she cried.

Cynthia burst into tears as Alex held her, she moved holding her tighter.

"Am sorry Alex, am so so sorry, I was scared I would lose you too" she cried.

"I know but that will never happen," Alex said.
