Unbreakable love: Only one I love

Alex had one goal in life to make enough money so she could give her mother a comfortable life. But her efforts always seemed less fruitful even with her adoptive father and step-sister by her side. "Am not crying, just got something in my eye " Alex sniffed. "Am sorry, here is something that might help" the stranger said passing his handkerchief. "Thank you," she said taking it. After wiping the falling tears she turned to look at the stranger. His long brown hair was moving with the breeze around him as his dark orbs stared down at her. He bent down took his hankie and gently wiped the still falling tears from her eyes, "you missed a spot" he smiled. She smiled remembering that night, it was the day she had met him. Nathan Livingston. The man who claimed to only have eyes for her and soon had proved it.

Come In

She heard the car finally stop and opened her eyes. Nathan turned to face her, "We are here," he said. Sitting up she looked out to see her apartment.

She wanted to ask how he knew but remembered it wasn't his first to drop her home.

He passed her purse to her and got out. She turned as he opened the door for her and slowly picked her up from the car.

She closed the door and pointed to where they were heading.

She took a deep breath as they entered the lobby area of the building.

Being in the arms of a stranger was another thing but the curious eyes of the people there made her more nervous.

"What's wrong?" he had stopped and was looking down at her.

"Nothing" she murmured.

He smiled and walked to the elevator then moved to her again.

"A little help," he said.

Alex moved her hand and pressed the sixth-floor button. Then turned to him, "Are you okay, I hope am not that heavy" her brows raised in worry.

He chuckled, "You're as light as a feather, I desired to ask if you really eat to your full"

She smiled, "I have a healthy appetite but my body never shows where all the food goes"

He laughed.

The elevator door opened and he walked out, she pointed to her apartment and got the key from her bag opening the door, but he didn't walk in.

"Something wrong?" she asked.

"It's my first time so am still a guest, you need to invite me in," he said

She giggled, "Please do come in"

He nodded and led them inside. The lights went on to reveal a well-organised place.

He walked into the living room and placed her down.

"Thank you," she said, "You can have a seat" pointing to the space next to her.

He obliged looking around. "Your place looks cosy and homey"

"I wanted it that way, it's the only place I can relax and have my privacy" she let out.

"I love it" he found himself saying.

"Thank you"..."I would offer you some water but I can't move right now," she said.

"It's alright, so I thought about it on the way here maybe we should call a doctor for you. The swelling is back and it's turning red" his eyes moved to her leg.

"I will be fine, it's not that serious. I can just apply more ice and take some painkillers and I will be okay"

He sighed trying to believe her words even when he thought it wasn't a good idea to leave her like that.

"Okay. Will you manage to get to bed or do you still need my help?" he asked.

"I can manage" she lied.

He looked around and got up, "You're going to excuse me for my behaviour," he said.

He walked to her kitchen bought her a glass of water and some packets of snacks placing them on the table in the living room which he pulled closer to her. Then grabbed the shroud in the next seat and moved to her.

Gently he placed her feet up in the seat and placed the injured one higher on the cushion then covered her.

He stood up and smiled., "That's all I can do"

She laughed, "It's more than enough, maybe you forgot one thing"

His eyebrow raised, "What is that".

"The remote for the TV"

He turned and picked it up giving it to her, "Anything else" he asked.

"No, that's all".

"Okay, then I will be going now," he said moving back, "Take some days off to recover and get a doctor when it gets worse"

"I will, thank you so much, Mr Livingston" she smiled.

"You're welcome, have a good night," he said and walked to the door.

She turned seeing him walk out, "Have a good night too" the door closed after he left.

She turned and took a deep breath.

"Whatever happened tonight must be a dream" she smiled laying back on the couch.
