What is hidden in the north 2

Mercer, a robust man with a penetrating gaze, was in a meeting at Deanna Monroe's office, who was the supervisor of the Commonwealth. The room was filled with high-ranking officials and strategists, including Alicia, who attentively observed every word exchanged.

Mercer, in his characteristic firm tone, said, "We must be prepared for any eventuality. Everyone should ensure they follow the protocol that was discussed a moment ago."

Deanna Monroe nodded and said, "Certainly, Mercer. That is an excellent plan."

Boom!

Amidst the discussion about the community's defenses, a soldier burst into the room, visibly agitated and sweating profusely. He hurriedly approached Mercer and informed him about the arrival of an armed group that had bypassed the border zones and was at the gates of the Commonwealth. "Captain Mercer, an armed group has reached our gates. They have ignored the border zones and are within the perimeter of the Commonwealth."

The soldier's words resonated in the room, creating palpable tension.

Frowning, Mercer asked, "Have they made contact with the outer zones?"

"No, sir. We have tried to communicate, but we haven't received any response."

Worried, Deanna Monroe asked, "What is happening, Mercer?"

"It appears we are facing an imminent danger. We must take all necessary precautions. Alicia, ensure that everyone is prepared for combat."

Mercer felt the adrenaline coursing through his body, his military instinct kicking in immediately. Without losing composure, he ordered everyone to grab their weapons and prepare for the worst.

As he advanced towards the main door, Mercer could hear the alarmed voices of the soldiers trying to communicate with the outer zones, but receiving no response. Uncertainty gripped him, but his determination did not waver.

Alicia, by his side, looked on with attentive eyes, grasping the gist of what was happening. She knew the situation was grave and the community was in danger. Though concerned for Airon and the S.C.T., she stood firm beside Mercer, ready to confront any threat.

Upon reaching the main door, Mercer could see through the peepholes the presence of an armed group outside. The tension in the air was almost tangible, and each step they took resonated like a drumbeat in their ears.

With a firm and authoritative voice, Mercer gave the order to open the doors. The metallic screech echoed in the air as the massive steel doors slid slowly, revealing the terrifying sight of the armed group standing outside.

Mercer's heart pounded as he stepped across the threshold, prepared to face any danger that threatened the Commonwealth. The soldiers lined up beside him, their faces serious and resolute.

The fate of the community hung in the balance, and Mercer was ready to defend it with his life. His eyes reflected a mix of determination and concern, aware that this was a pivotal moment in the history of the Commonwealth.

Mercer attentively observed through the door as it opened slowly, and his gaze met the imposing figure of Airon on the other side. A shiver ran down his spine at the sight of Airon's new appearance. His metallic arm gleamed under the sunlight, and an extensive sword rested at his waist, while an additional weapon hung from his leg. Beside him stood George and Glenn, emanating an equally intimidating presence.

In an arrogant tone, Airon said, "You must be Mercer... It has been a long time since I last read a report about you. It seems we have much to discuss..."

Mercer felt a mix of surprise and caution upon hearing those words. Airon's presence was imposing, and the tension in the air was palpable. Although he knew that for this man to mention his name, he must have investigated them, if he hesitated now, he would be dead.

"With whom do I have the pleasure?" He asked.

"I am Airon, the leader of a small force..." As Airon said this, his eyes affectionately looked at Alicia, who remained surprised by his presence in the Commonwealth.

On his part, Mercer said firmly, "Airon... I warn you that I will not allow any threat against our community. If you are here with hostile intentions, you will face the consequences."

Smirking challengingly, Airon replied, "I am not here to fight, Mercer. I come seeking an alliance, a union that could change the course of this devastated world."

Mercer remained silent for a moment, evaluating Airon's words. Although distrust lingered, he recognized the importance of exploring all options in a constantly perilous world.

Cautiously, Mercer asked, "Tell me, Airon, what do you propose?"

Airon waved his hands and gestured around, saying, "I have come to offer an opportunity for survival, a strategic alliance between our communities. Together, we can face the challenges that surround us and secure a future for humanity."

Analyzing the proposal and buying time for his people to arm themselves, Mercer questioned, "How can I trust that this is not just a plan to dominate us?"

In a cold tone, Airon reminded him, "My actions will speak for themselves, Mercer. Let me show you how we can fight together against our common enemies. The survival of humanity is at stake, and together we have the power to make a difference. Give me a meeting where I will explain why I am here."

Mercer reflected on Airon's words, weighing the possibilities and risks. He knew that making a hasty decision could be dangerous, but he also understood that being stuck in the past would lead them nowhere.

"Very well, Airon. Listen closely: if this turns out to be a trick, there will be no place for you to hide from our wrath. But if you truly intend to fight for humanity, then let us show each other our strength and intentions."

Nodding with a smile, and showing that he didn't mind being armed, Airon said, "I accept your conditions, Mercer. It is time to prove that we are willing to sacrifice everything for a better future."

The tension in the air lingered, but both leaders knew they were at a crucial crossroads. Their destinies intertwined, and the course of the war for survival was about to change.
