How Dare You

On the boat there wasn't many things to do, Usopp bored out his mind decided to tinker with his rifle and pistol. He wanted to make a stronger bullet ever since he saw Buggy's cannon balls. For the next couple of weeks, Usopp could be found taking apart his guns and putting them back together, then walking up to the deck to fire a few rounds shake his head and walk back down to the cabin.

Nami had finally had enough and yelled out, "You know people are trying to nap here!"

Usopp looked at her, and shrugged his shoulders before walking back down to the cabin again. Nami was shaking in anger and followed him back down. When she got there papers were lying all over the walls and floor. Different weapon parts were laying on the table and Usopp was examining them while taking his rifle apart. "What do you want?" Usopp questioned.

Nami walked over and punched him in the head while saying, "Quit shooting so much!"

Usopp was pissed, not only had he not been able to find the right amount of gunpowder for his bullets and kept destroying the firing hammer, now someone hits and yells at him, not to mention he's low on sleep. The only reason he could keep up with the destroyed parts is taking apart the guns he'd collect from the people they came across. He had originally wanted to sell them but he couldn't get this idea out of his head.

He turned and grabbed Nami by her collar and dragged her top side before throwing her on the deck. He turned around and shouted, "Stay out of my cabin!" Before slamming the door, Nami looked pitiful that he had snapped at her, but Luffy walked over with a hand on her shoulder and said, "Don't worry, he gets like that whenever he has an idea he can't figure out. I've been thrown out of there enough to know not to mess with him until he's-"

"I FINISHED IT!" Usopp yelled grinning madly and cutting Luffy off. The crew gathered around Usopp and he began his presentation while holding a small circular bullet with lumps all on the outside, "This here is an Usopp patented "Crowd Shredder". It works by shooting it at anyone in a large group of people. It doesn't penetrate once it hits and explodes on contact. These little bumps work like a grenade and shoot out little pellets at incredible speeds in all directions. It took me a while to make it explode on contact but it's finally done."

"That's amazing Usopp." Luffy said with stars in his eyes. The other two were nodding as well. Usopp was happy and said, "We'll be at the Baratie in about 5 minutes so do you guys want to test it before we dock"

*BANG*

The crew nodded furiously and just when they were gonna test it, a cannonball hit the water by the ship. They all looked over and saw a marine ship shooting at them. Usopp smirked and said, "Looks like someone just volunteered."

Zoro and his two underlings laughed, and Usopp aimed at one of the unlucky marines that had pink hair and an iron gauntlet. He shoot it and the marine panicked while punching the bullet before it hit him.

*BANG*

The bullet exploded and the pellets flew into the three marines he was goving orders to. They lied on the floor dead while the captain got up with only a broken and destroyed hand.

"Tsk, looks like i need to increase the firing power if he could react that fast." Usopp said a little irked that the first person he used it on reacted with no problem. "Well at least it functions properly, now I just need to tweak it here and there before it's perfected. The marines fired one last shot and it was heading right at them. Luffy reacted and yelled, "GUM GUM: BALLOON!"

His body inflated with air and the cannonball bounced of but he slipped and the cannonball hit the restaurant instead. The marines paled when they thought of who owned the restaurant and docked in a hurry dodging the head chef.

When the head chef did arrive, he immediately charged at the crew and said, "Are you the ones who sent that cannonball?"

"Yes." Luffy said before the others could explain. Usopp smacked him on his head and looked at the blond mustached man and said, "We're sorry sir but we were being shot at by marines and one of them ricocheted into your restaurant."

The head chef looked at Usopp without any difference and said, "It doesn't matter, I need someone to pay for that and the marines won't. So are you going to pay or are you going to work?"

"We don't have enough to pay how long would we have to work?" Usopp asked.

The chef looked the restaurant up and down, before turning and saying, "2 months for 1 person, 1 month for 2 people working."

Usopp sighed, he didn't see a way out of this so he just bit the bullet. He turned to see the crew and said, "Alright guys, it's gonna be a month until we can head somewhere else. You guys hang around and train, espicially Nami, she is the weakest of us."

Nami but her lip when Usopp said that. She hated being weak. She hated feeling useless. She looked back up to Luffy smiling and Zoro with a smirk. Luffy said, "Don't worry Nami, we'll help you!"

"I'll get you on a good schedule to build up some muscle." Zoro said. The two idiots shouted out, "We'll help too Aniki!"

Nami was happy that they cared for her, then she realized how much she had enjoyed being with these guys. No one should be close to her. If they ever found out what would they think? Could they help? She doubted it, it's not there problem in the first place. She had no business dragging them into this.

While Nami was deep in her thoughts, Usopp was hashing things out with Zeff, the head chef. Usopp knew Luffy couldn't be trusted anywhere near a kitchen so he volunteered to work as a helper in the kitchen, while Luffy serves the food.

The kitchen was running well until a couple of gunshots went off. Usopp asked if they needed help but the chefs said that it happened all the time and he was needed more in the kitchen. A couple hours passed and Usopp got a break so he went out to join the crew at a table. Apparently Luffy is thing to force the sous cook Sanji to join the crew. I looked over to the perverted lecher that was hitting on Nami and said, "You should go ahead and tell your boss that your quitting."

Sanji was confused and asked, "Why?"

"I've never met a man who Luffy asked to join and didn't end up on the crew." Usopp said with a chuckle.

"I'm not joining your shitty pirate crew!" Sanji said angrily.

"What did you say pervert!" Usopp said in annoyance.

They argued for a little bit until a man wearing Gold armor was carried in. While his crewmate begged for them to feed him. Usopp glanced over and paled. His fists tightened and he stood up loudly. Everyone was looking at him, while he said nothing and walked towards the two pirates. luffy looked solemnly at Usopp and Sanji asked him, "What's wrong with him?"

"I've only seen him this angry when someone tried to hurt me or our other brothers, or when he heard about the captain in the marines who killed the survivors of his island." Luffy said running over to Usopp.

Usopp stopped in front of the two. He asked in an even tone, "Do either of you two remember me?"

They both looked at him and shook their heads. The dark skinned one asked, "Who are you?"

Usopp pulled out his gun and yelled, "Ask in hell!"

*BANG*

Just as Usopp fired the gun, Sanji kicked it from out of his hands making him miss. Usopp glanced at Sanji and said, "What do you think your doing."

It wasn't a question, more like a statement from someone close to edge and about to unleash his fury. Sanji shivered and told him, "When they come into this restaurant, they are my customers. You don't have the right to kill them until I've feed them."

Silence, no one was speaking. Luffy was starting to realize who these people were while Zoro and Nami were confused. Usopp just stared at Sanji with a hateful look and yelled, "HOW DARE YOU!"
