A Clown?

"Headquarters speaking." Someone said over the line.

"Put me in touch with Vice-Admiral Garp, tell him his grandsons want to talk to him." Usopp told him

"How did you get this number?" The man asked cautiously.

"Oh you know, some idiot at the base on Shells Town gave it to me. Even gave us some money to buy a new ship. Too bad I couldn't pay him back he died before I got the chance," Usopp said while smiling with Luffy laughing in the background and Zoro smirking beside him.

The man at headquarters was getting angry but kept his rage to himself, "Please hold."

The snail face changed to show a square faced man who looked angry, "WHO DARES DISTURB MY AFTERNOON NAP!"

"Yo Gramps, it's been a while." Usopp said. Once he heard the voice the face of the snail changed into a grin and said, "Eh, Usopp? What are you doing calling me? How did you even get my Den-Den Mushi number? Is Luffy there too?"

"I'm here Gramps SHISHISHI!" Luffy yelled while laughing.

"Actually Gramps, I'm calling you because Sengoku broke his promise to me." Usopp said calmly.

Silence. The face changed and didn't say anything for a good while. Finally, he asked, "What happened?"

Usopp told him of there run down with Axe-Hand Morgan and the other marines. Once Garp heard that the man wasn't punished but just never promoted and even continued terrorizing the city he was in he was less than friendly.

"I guess Sengoku has lost his nerves. Anything that could paint the marines in a bad light recently has been pushed under the rug by him recently, he didn't use to be this way. Must be the 5 elders that have been giving him trouble." Garp said with a sigh.

"Anyway, I was just letting you know what happened in case you heard from someone else first. Don't want the big bad Marine Hero Garp's family to be any worse than it already is I assume." Usopp chuckled while the others laughed at the thought.

"Whatever brat I'm still mad you both didn't become marines, but I guess there was no stopping it." Garp said while smiling softly.

"Well if you want a good marine we left a certain pink haired one at Shells Town. Seriously,he still wanted to be a marine even after he saw how bad they are right now. All you got to do is quit being lazy and go get him." Usopp joked. Before he could continue, a big bird was spotted by Luffy and he was freaking out.

"See ya later Gramps." Usopp said, while Luffy yelled, "Bye Gramps!"

After that Usopp knew that the corruption was much deeper into the marines than he first thought. He couldn't help but sigh and think of how the 5 elders play into all this. Before he could continue his line of thought, Luffy stretched and grabbed on to the bird he spotted earlier and flew away.

Usopp sat there shocked for a second, before becoming angry and yelling to Zoro, "Try and get the boat to the next island because that's the direction he's going. I'm gonna follow behind them."

Before Zoro could complain, Usopp transformed and flew in the direction that Luffy went. Zoro just watched him fly and couldn't help but sigh, "What a troublesome crew."

Usopp followed but could only catch up right when the bird dropped Luffy in the town on the island. Usopp shrunk down and landed on Luffy's hat while saying, "What were you thinking idiot?"

"I thought that bird could be our dinner!" Luffy said as a matter of factly. Usopp only shook his head and think, 'What did I even expect.'

As they walked together down the street, they came across an orange haired women being chased by two pirates. She spotted Luffy and had a devilish smile grace her face. She approached Luffy and said, "Hey boss I got the map, you just need to take care of these two."

"Who are you?" Luffy asked innocently, while Usopp narrowed his eagle eyes. He transformed back into a human and stared the girl down.

She stood there for a minute, too shocked to process what just happened before immediately running away and yelling, "Anyway boss take care of those two and I'll meet you back at the base."

"Oy are you two with that orange haired girl?" He yelled while punching Luffy. When he did Luffy's hat went flying and Usopp muttered, "Oh, you've done it now."

Luffy immediately punched the on who puched him and reached up and grabbed his hat. "Don't touch my treasure." He said darkly.

The other two then tried to swing their sabers at him, but Luffy just punched them both at the same time and knocked them out as well.

The orange haired girl watching from the roof was surprised and said, "Wow you guys are tough to be able to beat those guys who had sabers barehanded."

"Who are you tangerine and why did you throw us under the bus like that." Usopp said coldly.

The orange haired girl scowled at the nickname but still answered, "The names Nami and I specialize in stealing from pirates, you guys just got into the crossfire."

"Oh, what pirate group resides here?" Usopp asked.

"The Buggy Pirates. They are a ruthless bunch that has a captain who was said to have eaten a devil fruit. He terrorizes the townspeople and is building up his money and crew to make it into the grand line." Nami answered seeing no harm in it.

Usopp thought for a second and told Luffy, "I'm gonna go scout these guys out and see how terrifying these guys are. That okay with you Captain?"

"Yea be back in an hour or so and see if Zoro is back." Luffy said before turning to talk to Nami.

After he said that Usopp turned into an eagle and flew off with Nami staring at him as he did.

"I originally thought my eyes were playing tricks on me but what are you guys?" Nami asked.

"We both ate devil fruits, Usopp became an eagle person, and I'm a rubber man." Luffy said while stretching his face.

Usopp flew over the city looking for any signs of pirates and found a group of people on a roof. He perched himself on the edge of the roof and observed who he guessed was the captain. How could he tell you ask? Well despite the hat that held their Jolly Roger on it, he was also the only one with a red nose. To make matters worse he was dressed like a clown!

'You could have chosen anything to dress like and you choose a clown?' Usopp thought in disdain.

While Usopp was pondering over the other captains fashion sense, he noticed he was agitated for some reason. He got a little closer and noticed that they mentioned Nami. Apparently they don't take kindly to people who steal from them. He also heard about a weapon named the "Buggy Ball" that apparently is able to help him conquer the Grand Line. Usopp scoffed at the declaration. If the Grand Line was so easily conquered then it wouldn't be called the pirates graveyard.

Just when Usopp was about to leave and join up with the rest of his crew, he sees Nami and Luffy, but Luffy was tied up in rope and being gifted to the Buggy Pirates. Nami then started rambling on about how she tricked Luffy and brought him to them after he stole their map. Buggy didn't seem to buy that and locked Luffy in a cage and pointed a cannon at it and told her to shoot him and prove her loyalty to him.

Usopp had heard enough and grabbed his rifle and aimed it at Nami. If she even motioned to shoot at his brother he'd kill her immediately. Fortunately for her, she looked scared to kill him until a man grabbed her hand and tried to force her to light the cannon. When their hands were almost at the cannon, Usopp shot and killed the man before hecould light it. Unfortunately, the lighter just so happened to fall right on the fuse and light the cannon. While the Buggy pirates were panicking and trying to find who shot one of them, Zoro showed up and cut the fuse before the cannon could fire.

Usopp let out a breath of relief, and decided to stay in the shadows and pick off the weaker pirates while Zoro fought the captain. While he was doing so, Zoro had cut the captain in half and got ready to cut the bars to Luffy's cage. Before he could a floating hand had stabbed him with a knife from behind.

"ZORO!" Luffy yelled in the cage, trying to break out.

Usopp deciding to go help transformed and flew to his side. "You ok Zoro."

"Yeah, a scratch like this will be healed in a couple days, but I'm probably not gonna be any good for this fight." Zoro said while stumbling on his feet.

"Looks like we need to make a tactical retreat then." Usopp said while glancing at Luffy's cage and wondering how he can buy enough time to move him. He then looked around and spotted the still loaded cannon. He motioned Zoro to the cannon and he caught on and sported a demonic grin.

"You think you'll be able to hold them busy for a couple of seconds?" Usopp asked smiling back to him.

"Shouldn't be too much trouble just try to hurry I might pass out soon." Zoro said while chuckling.

As soon as they finished talking, Zoro sprinted to the nearest enemy pirate and slashed them down, while he was causing a ruckus, Usopp made a beeline towards the cannon and picked it up with a struggle and flipped it towards the Buggy Pirates.

"Wait, what are you doing! That still has a special Buggy Ball in it!" Buggy yelled.

"You got a light?" He asked to Nami. He was still mad at her for putting them in this situation, but he knew she was just a scared girl and luffy seems to like her for whatever reason.

"S-Sure." Nami stuttered out. She lit the cannon and it shot a large blast surprising gang, before showing a wave of destruction that lead to the cannon.

"Woah." Usopp uttered out.

He regained his bearings and grabbed Luffy's cage and carried him while struggling to a deeper part of town. They stopped by a pet store and Zoro passed out when he realized he was out of danger. Luckily the mayor was around and gave him a bed and tried to give him some treatment which Zoro denied saying he would sleep it off. Nami caught up to them and offered to give Luffy the key to his cage.

"I would say thanks but you are the reason he's in there." Usopp said spitefully. Luffy looked over to Usopp and said, "Usopp let it go, I want her to be my navigator."

Usopp's eyes bulged out of his head and yelled at his idiot brother, "She has betrayed you twice and already says she hates and steals from pirates!"

"I don't care I've already decided. Plus no harm came from what happened." Luffy said ignoring Zoro bleeding out in a bed somewhere.

Usopp stared Luffy down and realized he was determined on this so he just sighed and said, "Alright Captain, but I'm watching her. I don't trust her yet."

Luffy nodded at that but before he could continue a giant animal and a man with a weird hairstyle came out from the distance.
