Mistakes (2)

A few minutes before and during my encounter with number three, four and five, these events unfolded on my teammates…

(POV Third Person)

"ARG!" Everyone present heard Marcel shout in pain as he was flung through the air.

"Regroup! We'll locate him after we're done here…Can't you guys hear me, I said REGROUP!"

Clare shouted at the top of her lungs as she kept her eyes on the two Grade 2 Magical Beast. And whether or not her facial expression showed it, she was also scared for he life, but as the team's supervisor she tried her best to take charge.

"Justin, Dustin, get a hold of yourselves, aren't you supposed to be men?!" Clare yelled once again after she saw Luward flock behind her.

Then just like Marcel the two boys had both wet themselves, however that wasn't the only interesting thing that occurred. The Bear type magical beast balanced all its weight on two legs and stood just like a Human would and opened up its maw to release a stream of burning hot flames upon the two frightened boys.

Unable to dodge the flames that approached them at high speed, the twins just stood there ready to accept their fate. Although before the flames made contact with the twins, Luward jumped in front of Clare and took off from his position at an incredible speed. Thus, saving the two boys by tackling them to the ground.

What Luward had just done was empower his footwear with Ki, activating an inscription on the bottom of his shoes. "Are you both ok?" After receiving nods from the two boys, Luward took it upon himself to set them straight.

Without empowering his hands with Ki, he slapped both boys in the face and told them to man up. After that, he turned his eyes on the bear and rushed at it while empowering his whole body in Ki. Luward after all was only a Lower Rank one member because of his below average Ki storing capabilities.

The Grade 2 bear suddenly dropped down back onto all fours and patiently waited for Luward to arrive at its position. Not only did the bird type magical beast fire ten tiny wind compressed magical bullets out of its beak into Luward's back but upon his arrival, the bear released a huge fireball from its maw.

This instantly made Luward realize his idoticy, he had not only forgotten about the second grade two magical beast but also, that the element of fire was the most dangerous in close combat. When both attacks landed onto Luward, he had multiple small holes drilled into his back but also his entire front part of his body was burnt to a crips.

Luward laid before the beast immobilized and just barely alive, lucky the beast held off on devouring his body and charged over once again towards the twins. When it began its charge, both beasts were below the trees. The winged beast stood aback the bear and they charged forward preparing for a joint attack.

"RUNN!" Clare shouted once again, she had just come to the realization that both beasts were in the middle of the second grade. This meant that both of the beasts could perform joint attacks, with one another.

As the words left her mouth, Justin and his brother rolled over to the side of the charging beast. However they were met by wind slashes at their point of arrival, this caused a great amount of pain to befall both of the brothers. Then the winged beast began to prepare for a stronger attack, while the brothers were both stunned by the pain.

That's when Clare took it upon herself to finally join the action, she quickly drew her blade which was coated in multiple sets of strange inscriptions. Once pumping a massive amount of Ki into her blade she gained the same amount of speed that Luward had taken off with.

When she was within reach of both beasts, she switched inscriptions and jumped into the air and made her blade glow with a red light which once connecting with the bird type beast set its body on fire but just managed to cut into its tough skin.

Although Clare soon found out that she was too late and should have joined the battle sooner once she heard an ear piercing sound which sounded out from the beast's mouth. A large amount of wind had been launched towards the twins while they were proving themselves unreliable as they just stood in place mesmerized by Claire's attack.

Then another sound was heard going off from the bear's mouth, which was another huge fireball aimed at you guessed it, the twins. When the two attacks met halfway toward the twins they grew in both size and sheer power, and exploded on impact of Dustin.

Who tried to shield Justin from the blast but as Dustin flew into Justin's body, it caused Justin to end up with two broken legs because he tried to stand his ground and catch his brother. Also due to his lack of armor, which was intern due to his choice in prioritizing speed over power.

Thus, Dustin had ended up in a worst state of Luward and Justin had two broken legs and his brother's body weight on top of him. This left Clare alone to face the two beasts alone, although she proved herself strong by inflicting some wounds on the two beasts but she was ultimately defeated by their teamwork.

Her current state was alive like the rest of her members, but she had three broken ribs and one broken arm, along with the other being dislocated, so it was safe to say that while alive she was still suffering a great amount of pain.

Then a few seconds later three humanoid figures appeared in their view, but later disappeared with both of the beasts that had caused the group so much trouble. So in the end you could say that it was Justin, Dustin, and Luward's inexperience with Grade 2 beasts that had caused their downfall. And Clare's caring nature to warn before acting that had caused her state as well.

Now as for Marcel, it was his sheer luck of being useful for the beasts that he remained practically unhurt.

(POV First Person)

'Now that they're gone and after around fifteen minutes Of sitting here idle I've charged up five percent of sight, this should be enough to meet up with the others and help out a bit. Although If I assume that Number Three brought those beasts with him he either might leave with them, or kill everyone else but let me live. I mean at least I'll live but they will die, well, even if I don't go, and those hybrids get there, then everyone is as good as dead anyway!'

'System, is there any way that I use the five percent of charged sight?'

[Host is now using '5%' of charged sight for fifteen minutes!]

After that notification appeared and I was at full health, I made my way towards the others. Upon my arrival, it was needless to say that I was shocked, not for the reason that you might believe but, because everyone was still alive and kicking!

'I wonder, should I use their weakened state to my advantage? I mean they were pretty mean during the whole trip, but this will be quite petty for my taste. Nevermind, I've got to get power in some way.'

"Guys, is there anything I can do to help?" I said knowing full well that there wasn't much that could save them from their current predicament.

"There..is..actually,...take a few potions from my bag..and help us recover." Clare spoke out to me, I could tell that she was trying her best to speak but also not hurt herself while talking.

Before I even grew any closer to her I made a guess to what kinds of potions she had in that ring of hers. Once I came to the obvious conclusion that they were healing potions, I wanted them for myself, and well it all went downhill from there.

'Should I try and buy them off her after healing her? Wait what am I thinking, I mean it's not like she's in the potions to stop me from taking them plus they'll end up being useful somehow.' Then Clare materialized five potions out from her ring, just as she did that I took the potions and stored them away in my inventory.

Before I heard any complaint from Clare I did what I had to and drained her Ki before I put her out of her misery with one quick slash from her sword. Then I stored her sword in my inventory and tried storing her ring but my inventory just wouldn't store it away.

So I wore everyone's rings on my fingers after draining their Ki and putting them out of their suffering, though, once I saw the look of utter betrayal on Clare and their faces I had to steel my resolve of growing stronger.

This time there was no pleasure in eating their brains and gaining more resources for my growth, above all else I felt a bit disgusted by my actions. Although power is power, and I would much rather be alive and disgusted than dead at the hands of a Golden member.

Once I was all finished I received multiple notifications.
