Ron's Rashness

After a while of waiting Oz finally witnessed the Weasleys exit the store. The second the left the store his eyes scanned over all their cauldrons, mainly focusing on Ginny's.

'Yep... Just as I thought there's no diary there...'.

All the Weasley's cauldrons were clear of riddles diary. Just to be safe Oz even activated his eyes to see if he could catch a trace of dark magic and get a read on the horcrux however that was to no avail as well.

'Ill wait to see if Lucius comes to get Draco... if he does then I can search him quickly to see if he's handed it away'.

The Weasleys promptly left quickly entering the other stores. To Oz, it was evident that they were going to be late for the train at this rate. Oz stood calmly and quietly minding his own business for another couple minutes before he spotted Lucius walking down the road with a sly grin on his face. Utilising his eyes he scanned the man.

'No signs of dark magic yet here either...'.

As Lucius entered the store it seemed he was there to fetch his son. He didn't interact with anyone else in the store and seemed to look at all the other wizards and witches with some scorn in his eyes. After grabbing his son they promptly left.

Oz sighed as he watched the two leave.

'And just as predicted... no sign of the diary here either'.

it was obvious now to Oz that someone else had been given the diary. A butterfly effect in play that led the this scenario instead of the canon one.

'I expected this outcome to some degree... Just means my plans for this year are slightly more complicated'.

Oz looked up and down the street, trying to catch any sign of the diary by just luck but to no avail.

'Ill head to Kings cross then...'.

With that decision, Oz started to slowly walk towards the trains station.

As Oz was walking towards kings cross he went over his plans for the year in his head. He had a main goal for this year and it was in the style of a double kill.

'If the chamber is opened then I can enter and kill the basilisk. However, for the chamber to open the heir needs to go and open it themselves. I could go scope it out but considering its that old snakes contraption im almost 100% sure there's some hidden wards on the entrance that only allow descendants through at first entrance, much like Merlin's hideout. So as brutal as it is I may even need to wait for a first victim, or just use the marauders map to scope anyone going into 'that' bathroom...'.

The streets bustled as Oz walked through the muggle streets. He kept himself in his disguise still as second nature, being prepared for anything.

'As for the diary that will just have to come naturally... however there is one horcrux in the school I can come into contact with early. The question then is if my eyes are good enough to spot that horcrux in that mess of a room... Maybe I could study the dark magic in Harry's scar to some extent and become more accustomed to detecting it?'.

Oz's thoughts were rolling thinking about the year ahead. It was imperative to him to get rid of both these horcruxes this year as a part of his big plan. It seemed however that Oz lost himself a bit in his thoughts as he looked up at the clock near the station.

'Oops, I'd rather not have to fly to Hogwarts so I better hurry...'.

Oz walked quickly into kings cross and cringed a bit seeing how busy it was. Luckily for him he had his bag with the extension charm meaning he didn't have to lug around suitcases like most students so he was able to navigate through the station quickly.

Just as he arrived near platform 9 3/4 he heard a loud bang in the distance and the clattering of two trolleys. Peaking his head around the pillar he saw a ginger boy collapsed on the floor and a boy with glasses rubbing his arm up and down.

"Goddamn it you Slytherin we're gonna be late because you hesitated to go in! Look the train is probably heading off now!".

The ginger boy was Ron who was pointing up at the clock in the station. Unlike the canon though he was much angrier at Harry.

"You could have gone on ahead ginge I gave you enough bloody space!".

Oz saw the two boys almost ready to throw hands at each other and decided to intervene. He un-transfigured himself as he walked up to the pillar. Harry spotted him first followed by Ron. Ron wore a look on his face that was smug.

"Oh so both the Slytherin wonderkids are gonna miss the train? If only I had made it I could have laughed about this! hahahaha...".

Oz completely ignored Ron as he walked up to the pillar placing his hand on it.

'Just as I thought... elf magic'.

Ron who was still chuckling to himself looked over at the aggrivated Harry as his own eyes lit up.

"That's right! I can use dad's car to get to Hogwarts! I can still get there in good time and these two Slytherins will be late and probably expelled!"

With that thought outspoken, Ron immediately dashed off. Harry was about to run after him before Oz grabbed him on the shoulder.

"W-wha? Why are you grabbing me Oz? It seems that ginger has a way to get to Hogwarts seeing as though the gate here has closed!".

Oz shook his head slowly at Harry as he spoke.

"If that boy didn't run off he would have heard what I'm about to say... the gate hasnt closed due to us being late, its actually been shut off by someone on purpose".

Harry's eyes widened hearing Oz's explanation.

"Shut off!? Who the hell would have-"

Oz's eyebrow raised as he realised Harry had clocked the situation.

"Its that damn elf isn't it!?"

Oz nodded at Harrys argument.

"Yep, it seems he will try any means necessary to not let you into Hogwarts this year...".

Oz started pressing random parts of the wall much to the dismay of Harry who was worried they weren't going to make it to school. Oz looked extremely calm as he did this as if he knew exactly what he was doing. While checking different areas of the ward Oz asked Harry:

"So why did it end up with both you and that Ron being late like that?".

Harry sighed deeply as he looked at Oz.

"Well... I told the grangers that I wanted to wait for you here so I stood in front of the platform waiting. A bit ago that ginger's family arrived and barrelled on through with the mother and father informing me that I needed to get on the platform soon as the train would leave any minute now. I got in front of Ron who was dead last behind his family however I hesitated running in as I was still thinking about waiting for you. I decided to charge as Ron got nearer and both of us ended up colliding at the gate which has been sealed...".

Oz felt warmed by Harry's reluctance to leave him behind but also sighed internally knowing that even if he was to miss the train he'd be able to get to Hogwarts faster than the train anyway if he felt like it. As Harry's explanation finished, Oz took out his wand stealthily and pressed it against the wall. A burst of magic broke the lock that was on the gate in an instant. Oz then checked to see if the lock was gone by pushing his hand through the gate which it went straight through. Just to the side Oz could have sworn he heard an elf's 'yelp' as it was confused how its ward had broken...

"Seems were safe to go now Harry".

Harry's eyes lit up seeing Oz succeed as he grabbed his luggage and ran into the gate alongside Oz. Just as they entered they saw the train basically about to leave. Oz ran up to the train and jumped in the front. He immediately notified the conductor to give it one second before leaving as Harry boarded. Since it was Harry Potter of all people, they complied and gave him time to get on.

Oz and Harry then met in the middle of the train.

"I'm honestly shocked we made it Oz...".

Oz nodded to Harry as he looked out the train window with a cheeky grin on his face. That poor Ron had set himself up to be bashed again...
